Did you select 'DriverPack MassStorage text mode' in AutoImage?

It's version 6.08.6 wink And method 1 and 2 only apply to the the integration of PnP drivers, text mode drivers are always slipstreamed using the same method.

The strange thing is that NOTHING has changed. Really NOTHING. That's why it's so hard to track down... Been searching for the cause for HOURS without finding anything relevant. Therefore I've suspended this and am now focusing on solving the other DriverPack problems (mainly missing drivers). After that, I will focus on this problem again.

The JMicron drivers. I think you only commented ONE of the TWO JMicron drivers during your tests?

Well it seems this device is so old it isn't even supported by Patje's modtool! Looking for the best solution now...

EDIT: it's a 6.x series driver, while we're currently at 8.x! I guess it won't simply be a matter of hacking a .inf file, so I'll just add this driver to DriverPacks-b then.

Could you please post your DPsFnshr.log and setupapi.log, if possible?

For some reason, it doesn't work on IBMs (gives a portclys.sys error), but thats OK, because all of the IBM drivers are included on the W2k CD.  And I would ask for support, but I don't want to have to re-burn 50 CDs wink

I am refurbishing director of a non-profit, so the DriverPacks are a god-send for all of the old computers we get (esp. the network drivers, those were a royal pain in the ass, esp. for Compaq (or as I call them, CrapPaqs) )

Thanks for you great product,
Brian

All you have to do is report it in the DriverPack Sound forum. Also mention the model name, because these OEMs tend to have their own driver series. I'll add it to the next update of DriverPacks-b! wink

It's already supported by the standard ATI driver! wink

Easy solution: update the BIOS. If not, you'll have to load a specific .inf file that only works for one resolution. Therefore this will NOT be implemented.

Everything looks fine. It should be working. I'll wait for your new test results.

EDIT:
Note that MANY drivers are commented in the SCSI.Load section and therefore will not be loaded. This is due to the fact that Windows 2000 seems to have a 'maximum combined size of all text mode drivers'-limit. But the drivers you need for your controllers are however NOT commented. So they should work just fine...

Please use CODE tags next time!

Please post your DPs_BASE.ini and DPs_BASE.log.

It's a laptop HDD, jtdoom wink That's the reason why. I've also seen that when you copy large files from one location on the HDD to another one on the same HDD, that everything gets very slow. It's still LONG though.

P.S.: if you use method 2, it will currently be slower than method 1 due to the filesize: the drivers will be uncompressed when using method 2 (>1.2 GB) and CABbed when using method 1 (±0.5 GB). When moving everything, it doesn't make a difference, when copying and then deleting, it obviously does.

I strongly doubt this problem can be caused by the JMicron driver. But we can only be 100% sure until you've tested it. Just adding the JMicron AHCI driver resulted in a not working Intel SATA RAID driver, so it's definitely possible.

To try it out right away, comment both JMicron drivers from the [SCSI.Load] section in the txtsetup.sif file.

I thought so already... it's due to how KTD is currently being applied. As you can see in the log, it took 30 minutes! And deleting them took another 3.5 minutes. 6 minutes were necessary for creating the .PNF files.
In the next version of the DriverPacks BASE, there will be a major update for the KTD functionality. The result will be that only those 6 minutes for creating the .PNF files will be necessary! Note that this greatly depends on the amount of drivers!

I removed one and yes, the drivers got smaller again. It had increased drastically in 6.08 and now it's back to the old level.

There were 2 DriverPack updates in 24 hours... A bit patience please, I need to sleep too wink

But Davvan said he was installing onto the ICH8R controller, while you're installing onto the JMicron controller.

The JMicron issue only exists in text mode setup! And I understood you've installed onto the ICHR8? And THAT resulted in a 0x7B BSOD?

Please post your setupapi.log (can be found in %systemroot%) and don't forget to use code tags! (Only post the relevant parts, else upload the file, the forum won't accept such a large post.)

I can tell you this is not added by the DriverPack Sound B! most likely it was added by nLite...

It should. It doesn't check for any specific content, but for a very specific GUI layout. What language are you using?

It is still noticed that on DPs_BASE 6.08.6 there is no item in the control panel for Creative Audigy

I just found the cause for that wink
