I found a link to this, more advanced, DriverPack Chipset Latency tester called "LatencyMon".  Vista is required at a minimum.
It is free for home usage, however; commercial users are required to license it.  This is also true with Thesycon's D.P.C. Latency Checker (compatible w. XP though).

"LatencyMon checks if a system running Windows is suitable for processing real-time audio and other tasks. LatencyMon analyzes the possible causes of buffer underruns by measuring kernel timer latencies and reporting D.P.C. and ISR excecution times as well as hard pagefaults. It will provide a comprehensible report and find the kernel modules and processes responsible for causing audio latencies which result in drop outs. It also provides the functionality of an ISR monitor, D.P.C. monitor and a hard pagefault monitor"
http://www.resplendence.com/latencymon

http://www.resplendence.com/images/latencymon.jpg

I would to suggest that this type of software could be used to help determine driver update suitability.  Consider that this is not simply to determine causes of lag or skipping in Audio only.  It can be applied to Mass Storage, Video, Network (incl. WiFi - especially Atheros), USB et al.  Perhaps differences would be more apparent on single-core systems.  In my thinking; whatever 'rocks' on a single-core system should 'kick-ass' (soarry Donkey) on a multi-core system!

PS:  I have no connection (personal, professional, nor financial) to either company.

The problem with chasing it down in %temp% was not knowing if all files were copied before Setup.exe deleted them upon closing (no user interaction).  That and the original file dates are not retained.
/extract_all and /a and other switches for msi-base do not compute.

This can be done programmatically through ShellExecute()
from http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8681 … -setup-exe

This worked like a lucky-charm when placed in the same folder as setup.exe.  (IsXunpack.exe from C:\Program Files\Universal Extractor\bin)  Unfortunately, this doesn't preserve original file dates either.
I wonder why it is that UE doesn't work for this.  Perhaps gora knows.
I will make note of any other driver installers i find that resist extraction; to aid the UE branch.

i had troubles extracting on xp.  Edit:  That is, until i used "IsXunpack.exe setup.exe" within the same folder!  Copy the file 'IsXunpack.exe' from 'C:\Program Files\Universal Extractor\bin'.  This will likely work for other 'Acresso-IS v15" packages!  big_smile

It's a peer-to-peer network utility that lets your computer connect to another directly without going through a router. It's part of the Dell WLAN driver package. Probably the best way to get rid of it is to uninstall "DW WLAN Card Utility" through Control Panel/Programs/Uninstall a Program. Then reinstall the 1520 wireless driver through Device Manager, pointing it to folder containing the extracted driver package (probably c:\dell\drivers\R262653\R262653\Drivers_US). That should result in installing just the driver without the baggage.

I understand that it is an 'exe and that it won't work with IScabVu, just thought i would make mention, though.

LED-based panels seem to hold rated brightness for not more than 14000 hrs (from datasheets)!
I cannot imagine that the LED's power-supply would have been production-engineered for an MTBF any more than that, likely less.

Please be more specific with image-building method, crash details & post some "HWID tool" outputs.  Identifying the DriverPack or DriverPacks used would be helpful, too.  You might be best served by removing all LAN drivers, except those you need, perhaps if your time constrains are that tight.

PS:  have you considered donating to DriverPacks?

no driver available for x64 for some raison.....

Here's some further info from TechNet:  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/solu … s/dd407791 smile

I forgot, the controller chip is internal to the CF (No user-serviceable parts).  That should ultimately determine compatibility.

The reactor buildings still contain large amounts of spent fuel – making them a huge safety risk and the only protection from a future tsunami, Wyden observed, is a small, makeshift sea wall erected out of bags of rock."

Dr. Koide believes that if another earthquake or strong aftershock causes a leak in the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant’s Unit 4 spent fuel rod pool, it could signal the end of the surrounding area and even Tokyo.

As reported by Energy News:

“Most discussion of the No. 4 spent fuel pool has focused on an earthquake causing the pool to collapse. This video is different because it reveals:

        1. A crack, rather than the collapse of the pool itself, can be the end of Tokyo
        2. The quake that could put a crack in the pool and be the end of Tokyo does not have to be a large one
        3. The sense of shock when people in Japan are made aware of this information for the first time”

Why the sense of alarm? Via the “Solid Earth,” a peer-reviewed open-access journal published by the European Geosciences Union (EGU):

“There were 20 times more quakes in 6 months after 3/11 than in previous 9 years!

From March 11 to October 27 last year, the carpet of sensors around Iwaki recorded an astonishing 24,108 shocks measuring at least 1.5 magnitude, 23 of them notching up a powerful 5.0 or more.

By comparison, from June 3 2002 to March 11 2011, there was only 1,215 such events.”

"The storage pool in the No. 4 reactor building has a total of 1,535 fuel rods, or 460 tons of nuclear fuel, in it. The 7-story building itself has suffered great damage, with the storage pool barely intact on the building’s third and fourth floors. The roof has been blown away. If the storage pool breaks and runs dry, the nuclear fuel inside will overheat and explode, causing a massive amount of radioactive substances to spread over a wide area. Both the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and French nuclear energy company Areva have warned about this risk."

Let's do the math.  They can't get in to start removing this stuff until 2014 at the earliest.  There's approximately a 98% chance of a 7.0 or greater earthquake in the next three years.  sad

Can you replace the Video with an add-in card?  If not, would a LVDS to VGA convertor limp you through the install process?
