Well done first post!

Entries in the pack INI are to skip files (exceptions)... (If they are not listed then they are added)

that file should be in the plugin's INI though... that is strange... I'll take a look when i have a chance

Edit.... I had a chance smile

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_10BD

is found in E1E5132.INF (folder I) and DELL5132.inf (folder I2)

the files are added to the plugins ini file

wnt5\E1E5132.INF=20,,1
wnt5\E1E5132.SYS=4,,1

this should work... (it does for all the other device drivers)

the inf only copies the sys file in the e1e5132.inf

WinXP copy files
;

[winxp.CopyFiles]
e1q5132.sys,,,2

[winxp.Service]
DisplayName     = %E1QExpress.Service.DispName%
ServiceType     = 1 ;%SERVICE_KERNEL_DRIVER%
StartType       = 3 ;%SERVICE_DEMAND_START%
ErrorControl    = 1 ;%SERVICE_ERROR_NORMAL%
ServiceBinary   = %12%\e1q5132.sys
LoadOrderGroup  = NDIS

However i do see that the Dell driver in the I\RIS folder will over write the one in the I1 folder ... (I think - Last file copied wins)
If you feel brave try deleting the I\RIS dell driver and test...  and deleting the I1 and test to see if one or the other works... My best guess it the the RIS is more likely to work @ PE

We'll keep working on it

Note to self update INI to rename or skip this duplication in teh packs INI.

NO... Read the rules.
This question is specifically tagged as inappropriate. We don't find drivers for people.

Use the packs...
That is what they are there for.
99.9% chance your drivers are included.

This is the DriverPacks support forum. questions should be related to DriverPacks.

TIA for your understanding.

Woo Hoo!!! Thanks a million Bâshrat the Sneaky

We at DriverPacks are quite happy to donate lots of our time, and in Wim's case lots of time and money, for free.

It's just becomes quite frustrating when all the DriverPacks team's hard work is not appreciated either with a hint of respect and good manners, and/or some pocket change to keep us afloat.

no need to delete or move this... we occasionally allow some wandering Off Topic.

it's insane when you think about it... if everyone who downloaded last month donated ten cents we would have made over 100,000 dollars tongue. I would have to ask Wim to be sure but i would bet he hasn't cleared 5,000 dollars in the last 7 years.

perhaps I was too rough, but it's frustrating for us too... It's hard to find the kind of bandwith we need for free. (hundreds of terabytes per month) - Wim is a college studnet and pays for this site's host out of his pocket. If Simple CDN did not donate our bandwith  for the downloads this project would be dead.

We are having issues with some of the simple cdn servers... Use a proxy to fool the cdn into thinking you are closer to a different location... The issue has been reported (in the " Site & Forum Issues And Feedback " forum, see "Corrupted/Incomplete downloads" ).

Please let us know where you are and when this happened in that thread.

God love you!

Thanks for your feedback and your donation.

We have been using simple CDN for a couple of years and until about a month ago we had zero issues. we average about two million downloads a week and only have had about 10,000 failures over the last two months (figure one post represents a thousand or so users). That is better than a 99.9999% success rate big_smile. Of course we prefer the 0% failure rate. Simple CDN donates our unlimited bandwidth for free and beggars normally can't be choosers, however our project is very popular. I'm sure another CDN will gladly take their place since the banner ad on the main page gets a LOT of exposure. (Perhaps beggars can be choosers!) Since Simple CDN has made Content Delivery Networks popular, now there are several other companies offering the service too. Previously there were no others. (they were the only restaraunt in town)

... They have had excellent service for over two years, it was not until last month things strayed. perhaps they just need to fire a couple of bad "servers" lol. - In Wim's defense He did not know the service was going to be bad because it was always excellent (perfect in fact) in the past.

Welcome to DriverPacks.net!

Thanks again for your feedback and your donation!

You have helped us to help you.

Jeff

Most people start out with "Your (FREE) project has been so helpful to me." and end with "Thanks".

Failure = rude

Look at it this way. Wim just bought you a free lunch, with cash out of his personal pocket, and all he got in return was a gripe about the service. That is extremely rude.

he was rude first... Reap what you sow.
I volunteer here for free wink
and he had NOTHING nice to say and he is not a donor.

Most people start out with "Your project has been so helpful to me." and end with "Thanks". Had he either of said thanks or complimented our project then my response would have been much different... big_smile.

Leeches should be nice, or at least respectful. Fail on both of those points and... Well... you see what happens.

Thanks for your feedback

Add 3rd party DriverPack Modem and MISC for Remaining devices

Good feedback Rafael,

KTD (with the full set of packs) burns about three gig of disc space and is almost useless. (I could see KTD as useful with 3rd party DriverPack printer, modem, monitor...) but most hardware like Chipset and CPU is never going to change after the install tongue.

SAD does not work quite as well as integrated drivers for an install... But is totally awesome for updating a working system or for adding hardware to a running system big_smile. SAD is automatically included if you slipstream the DriverPacks (#2 above).

Yes, just run DP_Install_Tool.cmd... What could be easier!

YUP... Since i removed DoPNF from KTD the  DSPdsblr.exe may no longer be neccessary at all... (that is what caused most if not all of the popups)

Next time I dive into the code I'll evaluate your feedback on KTD and A) see if DSPdsblr.exe is even still required and B) See if I can make sure that DSPdsblr.exe is removed after the reboot IF the finisher itself fails to delete it as it should.

Thanks again ... you have helped us to help you !

KTD all is a VERY BAD idea... Why have you done this?

KTD is good for TPDPs, like Misc pack, modem pack, monitor pack, etc...

IE it is very unlikely that you will need to keep Chipset drivers (do you change your MB everyday?)
Most drivers will not work with KTD (because the DriverPacks Finisher needs to run to complete the installation of many drivers)

Was DriverPacks the LAST step in your process? (Extremely important!)

I thought so... {shrugs}

it is not a file... the delete command is added to runonce in the registry by the DriverPacks Finisher...

let's see your DPs_BASE.log please.

sure...

Change

:: Show results with notepad
START %WinDir%\system32\Notepad.exe %Out%

to

:: Show results with notepad
copy %Out% \\ServerName\ShareName\%COMPUTERNAME%-HWIDS.txt

a computer named "bob" would result in \\ServerName\ShareName\bob-HWIDS.txt

Hint: type SET at a command prompt tongue - Notice that there are LOTs of helpful environment variables big_smile

even better might be

If NOT Exist \\ServerName\ShareName\%COMPUTERNAME%-HWIDS.txt   copy %Out%  \\ServerName\ShareName\%COMPUTERNAME%-HWIDS.txt

if the client were willing you could add the HWIDs tool to the login script
You'ed obviously have to extract the HWIDs tool (It's a self extracting archive) and redirect the output to a server share instead of notepad wink.

just a thought... It might be nice to have an 'actual' inventory on hand for them anyway wink.

blue tooth got you blue in the face tongue lol.

Samsung Monitors are Awesome! the repair shop i worked in in the 90's was an authorized repair center for Samsung... until they started the drop-ship warranty replacement policy. It was the best thing ever... We'd report a serial number and the new monitor would show up with a return shipping label. Just put the old broken unit in the box the new unit just arrived in and hand it back to the UPS guy... Awesome... that is how service should be everywhere!

Excellent news that NT6 will accept NT5 monitor drivers

Vista drivers are also teh win 7 drivers - We're waiting on Wim to change the name / description to NT6.

DriverPacks BASE does not do nt6 (win 7 / Vista) you need to download the WAIK (this is true of all NT6 tools) - I personaly recomend getting the deployment management tool "Microsoft Deployment Toolkit" and installing WAIK from the MDT GUI. extract the DriverPacks and import them to the "out of box drivers" You can however use DISM the command line tool included with WAIK for adding and removing drivers. I posted a walkthrough which can be found from our home page  follow the link to "Docs". http://driverpacks.net/docs/miscellaneous-guides
