Topic: process to integrate driverpacks

Before, the process to integrate driverpacks delayed about 15 minutes…
Using the same archives, with new version 10.06, the process was concluded in less than 2 minutes…

It will be that I am making something made a mistake or this is correct?

Re: process to integrate driverpacks

Welcome to DriverPacks!
Depends on what method you selected.  Method 1 (old) would extract all the DriverPacks, and then repackage them in .cab format.  Very slow.
Method 2 (new) copies the original .7z files to your source, then Windows will extract them during the install process.  Much better.

Re: process to integrate driverpacks

Debtor for its reply.  It is that of the previous times that I made the process, the part of masstorage was more delayed and now is very fast, therefore I was in the doubt if the integration occurred without problems.

Re: process to integrate driverpacks

Overflow once gave me a tip regarding my Antivirus/Antispyware. I use ESET and when I it was turned ON my integration would take 9 minutes, when it was turned OFF it took just over 1 minute. (Avast gives a SIF in use error).

You may want to retry with it off or disabled as a test. Don't forget to turn it on again when you are finished.

Re: process to integrate driverpacks

Thanks a lot, BigBrit

I made a test now and occurred this exactly. Also use the ESET and in the test that I made now, with the activated antivirus, the process came back to be slow and delayed about 12 minutes concluding.

Solved!

Re: process to integrate driverpacks

If you really mistrust the DriverPacks (not that there is any reason for, but better safe than sorry) you can scan the archives prior to integration or even afterwards. Doing that while disabling the AV during integration ususally turns out to be faster than leaving it on with no preliminary scan (suffice to say that the packages will be scanned when DL'ed anyhow).

Of course, while AV is disabled, you should not do any other potential harmful stuff on that machine (surfing the web etc...).

Re: process to integrate driverpacks

OK. After the aid of the friends of this site, I started to make the integration of isolated form, that is, with the off AV and without having access the Internet until the conclusion of the process. Thus I am sufficient insurance and the process was much more fast.

Debtor for the attention!
