Hi
please start on a fresh source, and clear mass storage QSC.
Graphics has atiode.sys, mass storage has atiide.sys.

What was that intel fix all about? What was wrong?

Hi Dan,
that fix should be in.

You can get winmerge, and compare extracted DriverPacks with that.

I ran search.. WU catalog site has apparently changed.. for the worse.

Did it?

I hope it did.
The point is, for some chips AHCI is apparenty not officially supported in XP, but they have always had AHCI in the drivers.
So, if it does not work, it is not our fault.

Hi, please run the tool to post hardware HWIDS you find in my signature lines, and post those HWIDs.
.

Welcome to DriverPacks.
Please run HWIDs tool in machine this modem is in.
Then post the txt.

Was the machine installed with third party DriverPacks for modem slipstreamed into XP?

Well, DPinst was the missing tool.

We once had a sticky topic where we tried things like post install finisher and post install KTD, (fini.cmd was in there..) but when we really tested that the result was nada.. we missed minisetup. We had the idea.. we lacked the right tool.
Warmsnow deserves lotsa kudos for looking at the WAIK tools and doing something we had not tried yet..

soon..
Jeff was coding like mad, and base will include the post install tool we were wanting, and it should be able to run post install driver install, with the exceptions found in the DriverPacks.

Pretty much like the fini.cmd and post install KTD, but this time with the minisetup we never had.

quick tip
When you (the user) make a revision and want to make sure the version is unique but higher...

Hmmm, let's first tell you what I want you to consider.
Suppose you downloaded 804.
We could update that to 8041, right?
YOUR version 8041 would not be same as ours but would have same name..
Well, when you call it 804a, it will be seen as newer than 8049.

Good to know, and it will tell your build apart from official DriverPacks Main releases. smile
(when testing team have to quickly change work done by another friend they started the a/b/c thing .. so testpacks do NOT always have  _nightly.)

Just the same, when it has a letter or a description trailing the version, it is NOT (yet) an official DriverPacks release.

abdou, you can quite easily edit the pack.

trim or move often has same result.
A trimmed pack loads faster, tho.

I don't know sir.
you could try the 8043 testbuild along with chipset DriverPacks. (what I would like you to do)

You could just as well download intel matrix storage and intel INF update utility, and run both.
Please remember that we really like to find out what solves this issue.
Help us help you.
Please help us fix it, your help fixes it for anybody else later on.

thinks aloud
It works without DriverPacks.. how do you install without DriverPacks? What do you use?

can you click on sterownik so I see the thing I want to see?
(and link to screenshot.)
------
I have to look at DriverPacks chipsets.
Today, while looking at ICH9/ahci I found drivers what had chipset drivers included with your mass storage driver.

TRY install it, and if it solves your issue, please report.

I see a HWID in there, and saw topics outside DriverPacks.net which makes me think you set ICH9 to ahci mode.

So..
It may be you want to try this testpack.

Hi
has the BIOS been set to AHCI?

Helmi?
windows update catalog site has changed.
You had a hotlink to a much easier view (one could hit a letter in alphabet and see all manufactors in it..) and I cannot find that link.

Hi, welcome to DriverPacks.
I am from belgium and my polish goes no better than mlekka and kava turki.

I see it is an IDE device. (I googled)
How many IDE ports do you have on the motherboard?
My old rig has three IDE ports, there is ONE I can use for opticals when I have the ITE-raid driver loaded for the other two.

Please do not make us guess.
Please use the tool to collect hwids in signature, and post the txt it produces.
Tell us which motherboard you have, perhaps.
