Drivers for virtual machine devices are a HUGE pain because Vbox, vmware, and a few of the minor players use the SAME HWID info.

Unless the VM vendors get together and straighten out their use of HWID info, don't expect pre-loads to be easy.

And as has been said before, ad infinitum, DO NOT bother posting links to drivers for ANYTHING other than the original software publishers or hardware manufacturers web sites.  There is a huge trust issue (which you are free to take personally or not) when drivers are downloaded from other locations.

Please just post the download link for the driver along with the HWIDs of the video hardware in your Dell.

One Upon a Time, there was a DP_Input 3rd party pack...

Has the current effort on DP_HID completely superseded the old DP_Input?

Have a great weekend everyone!

make the same request 10 times, insult the developers 100 times.

back off.

13.2.0.30 is an interim OEM release ONLY intended for distro from manufacturers web sites like dell, hp, lenovo, etc, etc.

AFAIK, the only thing 13.2.0.30 does is provide a MORE restrictive list of HWIDs for those makers that white/black list MAC addresses in their WWAN/WiFI adapters.

wait a few, if those drivers are legit and not a leak of a dev package or a customer-specific fix, the real drivers should be available from intel.com in 'all flavors'.

I don't see the need for secrecy, setting up systems to boot and/or reinstall via pxe is somewhat rare but it isn't secret by any means.

But whatever you think is necessary..........

The OP may want to reconsider his need for 'secrecy' in that missing details will surely delay a solution and may in fact wholly prevent one from being developed.

I've been running w/o in-line anti-vir for 2+ years.  No problems/infections.

I do occasional (read: when I feel like it) full scans with malwarebytes stuff and the monthly msft MSRT release.

My only browser is Opera, my only PDF reader is Foxit, my email reader is Time& Chaos Intellect.  I keep my systems and software up to date.

you MUST have the correct chipset drivers installed before trying any other driver.

please post the log snippets that tell us about the base hardware devices and the drivers that were loaded.

Me Like.  A Lot.  Thanks for the efforts on this utility.

Hint for the future:

Never try to nlite, slipstream, or add driverpacks to an already modified source.  You'll likely fail more often than not and waste not only your time but the time of people who are otherwise willing to try and help with problems.

Always, ALWAYS, start with a fresh, properly licensed source.

Also, it would help if you would tell us what XP 'distrribution' you used to install XP on your Fujitsu.

some new sound drivers are tied to the use of the correct video/hdmi driver.

Bios updates will do that to you as well.  Switch a ACHI storage setup to a default IDE.

Really, REALLY messed me up until I figured out that behavor.

well, msft is pretty much giving away win7pro and office 2010 to companies who are 'stuck' on XP.

Is the writing on the wall?

Would it be useful for the DP crowd to formally set a depreciation schedule (Oct 2010??) and a fixed release schedule (every two months?) so that people can plan and eventually shift their efforts to Win7 driver packs full time?

I have some ideas along these lines but it need a serious community discussion.
