Was this solved with any of the newer release dpms?
...no response means no support...

No, but before I modify any .inf I back it up into a *.7z archive first, just in case.

I've seen SATA cables that looked otherwise fine go bad.  I just ordered a stack of new SATA cables from monoprice.com for about $0.60 each.  I always try to keep a stash of spare cables, just in case.

Yes, but the driver inside is still only 03/31/2012,3.1.0.1082 which I have in dpms 12.05r1 in the testing area.

Now this is something I'm excited about!

Short summary:
Old way...5 copies of a 100MB file would mean 500 MB of storage space used.

New way...5 copies of a 100MB file would mean 100 MB of storage space used (5 "pointers" to the location of the "real" data).

introducing {DriverVer = 05/14/2012, 99.0.1.1} for Win8; WHQL'ed with sha1/sha256 hashes (NDIS 6.30)

I have these in my local copy of DriverPack LAN 12.06

You know, you could just start your own thread instead of hijacking mine. wink
I'll move your posts over once you create the topic.

We've added some new areas in our forums based on user feedback.
New section "OS discussions" and covers Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 (& R2) and the forthcoming Windows 8 & Windows Server 2012.
We didn't feel it necessary to include Windows 2000, XP or Vista as those operating systems are old and have rapidly waning support from both Microsoft and us.
Please feel free to stop by and voice your opinions.

This is the 'CD' release.
It's a collection of all the individual OS 17.1 releases together.  They took their sweet time uploading this!  The 17.1 OS releases have been out for nearly a month.  Normally the CD is released within a week of the OS releases.

There's probably no change to the contents of my latest DriverPack LAN release but I'll check it out anyway.

It's not a request (renaming title...) if the drivers are already included.
Please tell us what is causing the problem.  Include setup*.ini sections and DPsFnshr.log.
Simply telling us "it doesn't work" doesn't help.

Does this older driver work?

DriverPack Chipset 12.06 now online.

You could post your HWIDs and ask nicely.
Or you could try them first.

1) Never use nlite for drivers.

The rest is personal choice.
You can choose to use nlite for drivers and we can choose not to help you when nlite blows up. wink
Many people still use nlite to integrate updates and modify their source even though nlite's creator doesn't support it anymore.
Me personally, I use RVMi and AutoImage for all my XP work.  I use my own scripts for Win7.  Again, it's all your own choice.

Why not use nLite ? It's very convenient.

We don't support nlite (nobody else does either).
It makes a mess of source files and does not process drivers correctly.
We only support DriverPacks.

You have to remember that XP is not supported on those new HP systems, though their driver clearly does work on XP.
Your best bet is to restore the system back to factory defaults and use Win7.  It's 1000% better than XP.
If the sound still doesn't work in Win7 then contact HP for warranty repair.

Please post your DPs_BASE.log.
If you didn't use DriverPacks, then try them before posting here.
Otherwise, try this hp.com link.
It matches your HWID perfectly.

Are you referring to this post over at WinCert?
Maybe there were different driver versions for different (S)ervice (P)ack levels way back then (2005!?!)
I honestly don't know why you're using such an old driver (and from a 3rd party download site which is worse!) when the new driver (in our DriverPack Chipset) can be found from the Intel site here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_ … nloadType=

Please use DriverPacks (NOT nlite!) and don't try to use old drivers unless you absolutely must.

Oh, is there a vista/7 driver compatible with this chipset??

No.  You are out of luck on that old system.
