DriverPack Graphics A\A1 is a nightmare for pathlengths since the %SourceDisksNames% calls for a specific folder name.  The folder structure is kept to a minimum but can be hacked smaller.

in DP_Graphics_A_wnt5_x86-32_809rc2.7z, mobility.inf has no "PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C4&SUBSYS_FF501179"

mobility.inf

"ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series" = ati2mtag_M72, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C4

You just showed that it is in there. smile
See, you don't really need the &subsys code unless you want a specific branding (like I did with SamLab's entries).
You also didn't say if you tried it or not. wink  We really need testers!

I can add it if you really want it branded HD3470 instead of HD3400 series.

G_A is at 8.09rc2.  Final stretch!
Catalyst 8.9 is rock solid.  Looks like Nvidia 177.98 will be in the final (unless they pull a rabbit out of their hat).
I have some pruning to do in N1\ to remove legacy hardware which BSOD on the new drivers.

I think it was something I did.
I copied all the DriverPacks to C:\D\
When I ran the tool, I typed out C:\D (instead of the default C:\D\M)
Clicked Export to "Excel", then clicked "Start".  Insta-crash.
Hasn't happened since though.  Good work.

Welcome to the team! smile
v3.0.5 worked great the first time.
Crashed the second (and subsequent times) with "line -1" error.
I'll reboot and check again.

It's supported in the latest nightly.  We're working on a stable release.
You can check this link. http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=2709
Latest G_A nightly is 8.09c

The new beta of RVMI 1.5.4b5 fixes the winnt32 setups (setup.exe executed from within a running Windows (2000 or XP) install.
It's not public yet that I know of, but should be released soon.

I don't use DP Base in API mode (AutoImage is being fixed to incorporate new Base changes).  I'll give it a whirl in RVMI and report back.  As far as I know, no API changes were made.

Can you post your HWID?  Use the link in my signature.
You also need to let us know which DriverPacks you used (and which versions).

This just to clarify for all of you reading this post on the direction the DriverPacks have taken.

We do not have a release schedule.

Sometimes we release DriverPacks each month, sometimes several times per month if the situation warrants.  Other times we will not release a dp for several months if we cannot make it stable.

Stability of all the DriverPacks is our primary goal.  There's no point in having the latest & greatest if your system crashes because of it.

Having said that, we have some new members on the DriverPacks Testing Team, and we are hard at work for your benefit to release DriverPacks as soon as they are ready.

Yup.  I knew all about their nvidia tool.  I don't use it though.  I tried it out briefly.  It needs work.

LOL, yes Vista x64 has enough problems without adding driver issues into the mix. smile

Geez, at this rate you'll be at v15.9.9 by the end of the year! smile
You're on FIRE dude!

I don't need it.  It's more trouble than it's worth.  Just disable the requirement for driver-signing and you're set.
In Vista, that's a different matter altogether.  Driver-signing is required.

I knew about the inf2cat tool.  It's used by the DriverHeaven Mobility Modder tool.

From what I understand, Catalog (.cat) file creation is not all that difficult with the right tools.  Windows will still complain about drivers that are not signed with a certificate that it can recognize.
But WHQL-certificate driver signing is the holy grail of driver development and costs $$$.

@neogator
Just be advised that the nightly builds are NOT final.  There may be (and frequently are) bugs in the DriverPacks that may cause serious problems.  They are for testing purposes only.
Normally, the nightly downloads (and testing forums) are restricted to those on the Testing Team.
With that in mind, please report back with your hardware IDs and how the nightlies worked on your system.

Welcome to DriverPacks!

more testing with S_A 809 rc2

The one constant is that if I integrate older soundA packs, no BSOD.  If I integrate any of the soundA 8.09 packs (including rc2), BSOD.

OK, so you're saying the only problem you have is in VM?  What about real hardware?
In VirtualBox (v2.02 is out now), what do you have your audio settings as?
Null Audio Driver
Windows DirectSound

And what about the sub-options?
ICH AC97
Soundblaster16

Also, what about your host machine (real) hardware?  Do you have Realtek or Via sound controller?

I'm more concerned with weeding out real hardware bugs, but I'll dig around to fix virtual bugs too if I can.

I've been using VB with Windows DirectSound-->ICH AC97 with zero problems.

Thanks SamLab,
I'll check it out.

Yeah, the latest nightly has problems.  I'm working on it.

OK, but your original post was over two months ago.  Then you post again yesterday with no additional info.  It's easy for me to get confused. wink

Glad to help!
When I get some free time, I'll sit down and write a tutorial on the DriverPacks Finisher .ini syntax and windows pathways.  I learned a lot from Ricktendo64's video tutorials on how to make addons and entries.ini.
Unless of course Jeff beats me to the job...that boy is on FIRE! big_smile

Works fine for me in VB 2.0.0
Used S_A 8.09rc1

Just making a 'Sound_C' dp isn't going to solve anything.  When you integrate Sound A, B, & C you're still going to have issues.
When you say "latest DriverPacks", we need to know which versions.  Do you mean nightly?  Then version numbers are critical.
There was a Realtek "super-generic" HWID included in \R2 of Sound_A which is removed in the release candidate.

I can confirm \R1\ works great on my notebook. smile

Can anyone confirm the V*\ series updates work on Via hardware?

I'm going to start pruning the .infs to remove duplicate HWIDs.  We may have one more test to run before final! smile

Wow, I can't believe how much x64 crap is in there!
