Topic: [SOLVED] 7.01.1 Still BSOD 0x0000007B on Silicon Image SiI3112
I am using DriverPacks Base 7.01.6 with all the latest DriverPacks, including DriverPacks MassStorage 7.01.1. I have tried to perform a Windows Setup on my ASUS A7N8X Deulxe which has two 74 GB Seagate SATA Drives attached to the onboard Silicon Image SiI3112 controller. Unfortunately I will always get a BSOD 0x0000007B on reboot.
I have obviously had a thorough look at the following topic:
[SOLVED] SiI 3112r controller doesnt work: 0x7B BSOD
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=87
I have paid particular attention to the issue concerning various BIOS Versions for this controller: I have used the original ASUS BIOS 1009 which contains the SiI3112 BIOS Version 4.2.47 and I have also tried injecting the SiI3112 BIOS versions 4.2.50, 4.2.79 and even the very latest Version 4.2.83 - all to no avail. I have also tried replacing the SiI3112 Driver 1.0.56.1 from Driver Pack MassStorage 7.01.1 with the previous version 1.0.51 and repackaging the DriverPack, but that didnt't help either. No matter what I do - whenever Windows Setup has finished file copying I will inevetably get a BSOD 0x0000007B on reboot and the advice to run chkdsk /f... :-(
I should stress that I have also tried using the original Windows XP SP2 CD and inserting the SiI driver with the F6 method: Setup proceeds without any problems at all, no matter if I use SiI Driver Version 1.0.51 or 1.0.56.1. But since I am trying to run Windows Setup unattended, this is no solution to my problem. I should think there must still be an incompatibility with other drivers in "DriverPack MassStorage 7.01.1" but I have got absolutely no idea where to start from.
Incidently: Apparently I am not the only one experiencing this problem. Please have a look at this post under "Feedback and Support":

Any help into solving this mystery would be much appreciated.
