Maybe somebody with a "Intel(R) Sunrise Point-H SATA AHCI Controller - A103" is willing to give it a try?  hmm
I pulled the HWID from the PCI ID Project pci.ids (2014.12.10)  http://pci-ids.ucw.cz/

Also, a new driver (..\I\dps_IDER_pciide.inf) has been improvised to ensure Intel IDE-R connected drives have Write Caching disabled.  Complimentary drivers have been made to utilize IntelIDE for the regular SATA Controllers, where support doesn't exist from Intel.

For PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_880B&CC_0106, it would appear the Lapis Semiconductor driver that was handling that HWID cannot seem to function on XP, as it was released.  iaStor.sys is now used instead for XP.]

Perc2 is a replacement driver for XP, and 2k3
Fixed

10.01.24 nightly Jeff aka OverFlow (Jan 24 2010)

updated
Replacement drivers that were missing HWIDs
(If a driver is a replacement it MUST replace all HWIDs supported by the previous driver ;).

dpti2o [AD4]
- verified

adpu160m [AD5]
- restored hwid
PCI\VEN_9005&DEV_0081

symc8xx [C] ms_1
- need special case for a single driver that replaces two or more native drivers...
- Fixed, simply assign no HWIDs to one or more (ms_X) section(s)
- combined old ms_2 and ms_3 into ms_1
symc810 [C] ms_2
- see above. replaced.
sym_hi [C] ms_3
- ms_2 is also replaced
-- see section for example!

mraid35x [L2]
-missing / added
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1960&SUBSYS_0493101E
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1960&SUBSYS_0475101E

-Lost Hwids? Not referenced / listed in MRAID35X.inf.
These were previously left behind by BASE (not removed or added)
the driver should still work for these HWIDs but they are not specifically listed in MRAID35X.inf.
the updates to BASE 10.x will remove these from txtsetup. They might need to be re-added to the mass ini,
however they should be picked up / covered by the super-generic PCI\VEN_101E&DEV_9060 that IS still listed ;)
 (they are probably just redundant)
 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1960&SUBSYS_04671028
 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1960&SUBSYS_11111028
 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1960&SUBSYS_11111111
 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1960&SUBSYS_11121111
 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1960&SUBSYS_03A2113C
 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1960&SUBSYS_04711028
 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1960&SUBSYS_0475101E
 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1960&SUBSYS_04931028
 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1960&SUBSYS_0493101E
 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1960&SUBSYS_04931028

[L11]
-Change ms_1_exc_skipIfOS="w2k3" to ms_1_exc_skipIfOS="w2k3,wxp" Mraid2k only supports Win2k ;)
At least according to the L6MRAIDX.inf - again it may work, but it is definately not supported.
This may need to be changed back. Note: Two of these HWIDs were originaly / natively listed for [L2]
 - native mraid35x lists PCI\VEN_101E&DEV_1960&SUBSYS_04931028 and PCI\VEN_101E&DEV_1960&SUBSYS_04711028.

These were previously left behind by BASE (not removed or added) it may need to be re-added.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

Hi

Thanks TechDud for your help.

I have tried using the:
    DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1209
    DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_1209
driver packs from this url:
http://driverpacks.net/driverpacks/latest

to install a RVM'd XP SP3 32bit.

When installing to a desktop a Dell Optiplex 3010 with the SATA operation mode set to AHCI it caused a BSOD.
I reinstalled with SATA operation set to ATA in order to collect the HWID's as requested.
The HWID's of the system are:

Obviously only the SATA controller/hard drives concern me at present as the possible source of the BSOD.

I hope this information is helpful and in the right place as it is the one linked too from your other thread. I notice the driverpack version RC has moved on to 1301rc2 which I will download now and try.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

I notice the driverpack version RC has moved on to 1301rc2 which I will download now and try.

I can confirm BSOD on the same Dell Optiplex 3010 when using:
  DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1301r2.7z & DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_1301r2.7z
and having the SATA Operation mode set to AHCI.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

OK Try,

Disable QuickStream Cache.

Then reintegrate Driverpacks with a clean XP source.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

@Damnation
Okedoke. Thank you. Will give that a shot tomorrow, assuming the freedom at work. I didn't mention but I did delete the QSC. I will disable it for the next attempt and post back.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

I would remove all the excess packs for now, except DP_Chipset & DP_MassStorage.
You might have too many.  Also, this will take much less time to integrate, burn, install & test.

DP_CPU & DP_Monitors are obsolete and superfluous respectively, BTW.

Do ensure that your uEFI is up-to-date.
(if you don't know what that's about, skip it; you could "brick" your board)

Also, what we really need is the HWID's whilst in AHCI mode.

Please also note during the Initial partitioning which driver as indicated by question marks whilst uEFI/BIOS is set to AHCI mode.

xxxxxx Mb Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on ???????? [MBR]

Otherwise, one may need to install as IDE, then switch to AHCI to note the HWID's for the AHCI controller.

Alternatively, one could use the "UltimateBootCD", here --> http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/button.gif

PS:  nLite?  Y/N?  You did mention RVMi which is good.
If "Yes", make that a "No".  Best to use a "virgin" source modified by only DP_BASE.
   smile

Jolly good.

I’m guessing that is via a BIOS firmware update. I am familiar with those but would prefer to skip that step unless we rule everything else out.

Please also note during the Initial partitioning which driver as indicated by question marks whilst uEFI/BIOS is set to AHCI mode.

xxxxxx Mb Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on ???????? [MBR]

Is this retained in a log I can rescue from the hard drive after install or it involves me watching the screen?

Otherwise, one may need to install as IDE, then switch to AHCI to note the HWID's for the AHCI controller.

Actually I’m more comfortable with that approach. I’ll install as ATA, then find the SATA controller and force a driver change/use to whatever the Dell websites isolates as the correct driver (or a standard AHCI one). Then run HWID (these don't change based on the drivers selected right? They are gathered from teh hardware [as reported by the BIOS?]).

PS:  nLite?  Y/N?  You did mention RVMi which is good.
If "Yes", make that a "No".  Best to use a "virgin" source modified by only DP_BASE.

I do use nLite ONLY to make the bootable ISO out of the directory. At this point I know of no other way/tool. I abandoned all nLite tweaks in favour of my own customized unattend.txt. I then cut down on that and popped all the tweaks into a CMD file that is set to run on first boot. Whilst getting the BSOD it doesn’t reach this step.

Ok then. I have the following plan of attack:
Test Case 1
1)    Remove DP CPU and DP Monitors.
2)    DriverPack, burn CD and test in AHCI mode.

Test Case 2
1)    Remove DP CPU and DP Monitors.
2)    Use clean source, not an RVMi’d one. Retain own customizations.
3)    DriverPack, burn CD and test in AHCI mode.

Test Case 3
1)    Remove DP CPU and DP Monitors.
2)    Use clean source, not an RVMi’d one. Remove own customizations.
3)    DriverPack, burn CD and test in AHCI mode.

Information Gather
1)    Switch to ATA mode.
2)    Force a change to AHCI drivers, switch BIOS mode to AHCI.
3)    Gather HWID information

On ALL attempts above try to determine the driver indicated by question marks.

xxxxxx Mb Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on ???????? [MBR]

I will restrict testing to the Dell Optiplex 3010 for now. I suspect that Dell is using the same new chip on most of their newer machines and that once resolved it’ll tackle most of the machines I need to use it on.

Any refinement to the above approach? Feel free to suggest.

Now please understand I don’t work at a place with a realistic workload or a good top level understanding of these technological issues (which is one reason why driverpacks are so helpful). They recently changed the password on a district network and I am inundated with hundreds of requests to join devices to the network again. In addition I have dozens of machines to rescue from an outdated application using Java 6 before oracle nukes it on Tuesday.

My point is to say: “Forgive me; I may be a while.”

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

I Always start with a clean XP source.

I'm assuming that you have a clean source

For now, only focus on integrating Mass-storage and chipset, nothing else.
When integrating, Turn off QSC, I personally never use it

once those are successfully integrated, then do the rest.

I googled that model, it has the H61 express chip-set.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

Thanks I will refine to:
Test Case 1
1)    Remove all DP except Chipset and Mass Storage
2)    DriverPack, burn CD and test in AHCI mode. Don't use QSC.

Information Gather
1)    Switch to ATA mode.
2)    Force a change to AHCI drivers, switch BIOS mode to AHCI.
3)    Gather HWID information

xxxxxx Mb Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on ???????? [MBR]

I'll let you know (assuming freedom at work).

Thanks for the suggestions. smile

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

I'm sorry I' know this has been a while. I have had no freedom at work and the testing machines have been deployed. I can test on the next batch in but it needs to calm down here for me to do so. I apologize for the delay.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

No worries mate.  I have updated Chipset, MassStorage, etc.  Use those for testing if possible.

The last test cases you mentioned should be fine.  Building the iso with nLite is OK, iirc.

The important thing being conveying the HWID's of the AHCI controller.
"Information Gather" should read "Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on Atapi [MBR]" or something like that.
I look forward to hearing which "????????" driver failed on an AHCI install.

Updated first post.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

TRUE

It is OK to use nLite to create a Disc / ISO...
just don't use any of the other features of the program.
ESPECIALLY not for adding drivers.
Also note it's license forbids commercial use.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

...updated in first post.

Don't forget to get the corresponding DP_Chipset to integrate with.
Also, i've updated the known & unconfirmed issues in both MS & Chipset.

In addition, starting this month, i've edited the DriverPack.ini in Chenall's D-P-M-S.iso to conform with his style of modification.

This release candidate (1304rc2) imports most of the USB 3.0 drivers from DP_Chipset_wnt5-x86_1304r2.

Damnation deserves the lion's share of the credit for that.

They are enabled in the DP_MassStorage Ini to allow textmode support for installations from USB 3.0 media attached to a bootable USB 3.0 Controller.  Does it work at USB 3.0 speeds?  I don't know.  Tell us.

Thank you, Damnation!  This one's for you.  smile

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

I'd thought USB 3.0 support was going to be dropped for now, I wasn't expecting it to be included so soon.
Thanks!

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

If it doesn't break anything, then we can have a release candidate / test pack hanging around

but i think it does create some un-needed SIF entries [garbage lines]

Idealy i add support for chipset files and add the windows update from BASE... this works for testing and getting feedback
