Re: [REQ] I need to integrated my ahci driver into winxp disc

Do you get a BSOD with an unmodified source?

Spigul74 wrote:

obviously HDDs are ok

are you sure your drives are OK? they are powered on and connected to the controller?

Re: [REQ] I need to integrated my ahci driver into winxp disc

Mediafire is getting to be a real pain.
  It's bad enough that they have seemingly started "clickjacking" in pages, including the "Copy link to Clipboard" buttons.
Now they make it appear that one might need to pay to download.

I note that DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1301rc1 is still downloadable from my end.
If that didn't work for you whl0806, the other links may not help either.

I am open to suggestions that do not make me fall afoul of my own nation's laws.

Edit:  I hope that it is simply a problem with the terminal you are downloading from, or your ISP.

I can see "Intel PCH EG20T AHCI SATA Controller" when I installed win XP,used I burnt XP disc latest.But it can't find hard drives (... press F3 to restart etc)

I used DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1301r2.7z

did you get that with both rc1 AND rc2?

Re: [REQ] I need to integrated my ahci driver into winxp disc

If using WinSetupFromUSB, you may need to disable the DP.MS.iso.
Otherwise, you may have to install from DVD or CD (i love those rewritables), somehow.

If that doesn't work, then please post your DPs_BASE.log.

Hola, bom dia
I've integrated DP rc2 in "Mode 2" and burned a CD, but it doesn't work: I can see the driver loaded during XP installation but then the setup says that there's no hard drive to install to.
HDDs are ok 'cause win 7 start without problems.

Re: [REQ] I need to integrated my ahci driver into winxp disc

The txtsetup.oem has some registry keys

[Config.IOHSATA]
value = Parameters\PnpInterface,5,REG_DWORD,1
value = Parameters\Device,MaximumSGList,REG_DWORD,32
value = Parameters\Device,NumberOfRequests,REG_DWORD,64

maybe these are essential?

Re: [REQ] I need to integrated my ahci driver into winxp disc

Both of you can clear your Quick Stream Cache from the DP_BASE folder and then reintegrate.

QSC        = "yes"

QuickStream Cache available for DriverPack MassStorage text mode drivers!

C:\_q7\DPs_BASE_1006\QSC\wnt5_x86-32_uni_DP_MassStorage_1301r2_textmode\DriverPack_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32.ini

Maybe QSC="no" is best for now.

If i remember correctly, this is meant for those doing many integrations with the same packs.

If that integration doesn't work, reintegrate using DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1301r1.
Remember to start with a virgin source (no updates, etc.) for testing.

Also,

Re: [REQ] I need to integrated my ahci driver into winxp disc

The USB ports.  It's possibly the USB ports.  Well, that or the unsigned Security Catalog.

Intel wrote:

"During the installation of Windows XP, only single USB device (the USB floppy disk) is
allowed to be connected to the system at USB port x23 else Windows XP installation
will not be successful. This is due to USB issue in the Intel®PCH EG20T A0 and A1
silicon."
   quoted from:  http://download.intel.com/design/intarc … 324213.pdf

So, what stepping are your PCH EG20T's?

"7. During the installation, the message box below may appear:

At this time, any low/full speed USB devices (for example the keyboard and mouse)
that are connected to USB port 1 (Device2:Function0), USB port 3
(Device2:Function1) and USB Port 5 (Device2:Function2) will not function for a
brief period during installation. This may appear due to an OHCI driver issue for
USB Host controller #1 (Device 2: Function 0-2). These USB ports will resume
working once you can dismiss the above message box by clicking Yes. Figure 19
indicates the internal USB port connections.

The proposed workarounds for this issue are:
— For a customer design that has PS2 ports, please use a PS2 mouse and
keyboard to facilitate the installation.

— For a customer design that has USB port 0/2/4 (USB Host controller #0 Device
8:Function 0-2), use those ports for the USB mouse and keyboard connection
to facilitate the installation.

— For a customer design that has only ports 1/3/5 (USB Host controller #1 Device
2: Function 0-2), please connect a USB mouse and keyboard through the USB
high speed hub."

I note that Intel lists the PCH EG20T as having 2 SATA ports.

Intel wrote:

"Note: Slipstreaming the Intel®PCH EG20T SATA AHCI controller driver onto the Windows XP SP3 installer will not work."

How would they know that?  A statement like that makes me think they belong to the "sore-optimist's" club!  yikes

I am surprised that part of the XP install procedure does not involve standing on one's head whilst drinking a glass of water and headbanging "Bang your head"!  big_smile

May it be that the oddball device ID originally in DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1301r1 is what it is that is at issue.
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_880B&CC_010601 is what is contained in DP_MS_1301r1.ini, iohsata.inf, and txtsetup.oem.

For this very reason, i believe that DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1301r1 has the best chance of working.

Another theory i have involves that other HWID listed in txtsetup.oem for LSI (not the USB Floppy HWID's).

+1
Also, ensure that within winnt.sif that in the [Unattended] section that you have the following line (due to the iohsata driver having an unsigned Security Catalog.)

DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore

I am uncertain if the [Data] section might need:

UseBIOSToBoot=0

If all else fails, here's what Damnation said earlier:

Damnation wrote:

It's either that or Y2K bit whl0806's install.

Re: [REQ] I need to integrated my ahci driver into winxp disc

or else maybe try with all the HWIDs in the txtsetup.oem file

ms_1_hwids="PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_880B,PCI\VEN_10DB&DEV_8021,USB\VID_03F0&PID_2001,USB\VID_054C&PID_002C,USB\VID_057B&PID_0001,USB\VID_0409&PID_0040,USB\VID_0424&PID_0FDC,USB\VID_08BD&PID_1100"

not sure what the other IDs are for but maybe they're needed

Re: [REQ] I need to integrated my ahci driver into winxp disc

those are for USB\Floppy support in textmode.
don't add those.

ms_1_hwids="PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_880B,PCI\VEN_10DB&DEV_8021

or

ms_1_hwids="PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_880B&CC_0106,PCI\VEN_10DB&DEV_8021&CC_0106

Re: [REQ] I need to integrated my ahci driver into winxp disc

I'm new here but from what I can gather my experience may be related and helpful to this issue.

I had a BSOD on a Dell Latitude E6400 laptop when the BIOS set SATA Operation to AHCI mode and I used my DriverPacked XP CD.

I am using DPs_BASE_1006.exe and DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1109, DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_1209

When I eventually figured out it was the hard drive controller driver and that I needed the relevant AHCI driver to be within the DriverPack; I used the following method to get around it.

* In BIOS I switched to SATA Operation to ATA mode.
* Installed windows from my DriverPacked XP DVD.
* Booted windows, forced a driver change to AHCI to what I hoped was the correct AHCI driver then rebooted and switched the BIOS SATA Operation back to AHCI.
* All seems good now.

I didn't explore the Intel Rapid Restore Technology (IRRT) mentioned in the BIOS as another SATA Operation mode.

DriverPacks is very helpful and I want to help if I can.
The driver I found and the technical information is below.

Download URL from Dell.com for the suitable driver I used:
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/ … 2939841948

When this is unpacked it contains the following files:

F6Readme.txt
iaAHCI.cat
iaAHCI.inf
iaStor.cat
iaStor.inf
iaStor.sys
license.txt
TXTSETUP.OEM
Version.txt

When I force switched the drivers to AHCI, I unpacked the files above, right clicked on the INF's and selected install. Then in Device manager when selecting the driver from the list I choose:

Intel(R) ICH9M/M-E Family 4 port SATA AHCI Controller - 2929

I have no idea if they are "signed" or otherwise suitable for DriverPack inclusion consideration.

This is what I saw in the device properties but I am unsure whether this comes from the hardware or the device driver I installed for the hardware.

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2929&SUBSYS_02331028&REV_03\3&61AAA01&0&FA

I haven't been able to test the external eSATA port which was the main reason for enabling AHCI (it wont work in ATA), so I still have my fingers crossed.

Please let me know how/if I can help further or you feel I might have not made the correct choices above. I have images of the laptop and am happy to test a new driverpack.

Hopefully this feedback helps.

Re: [REQ] I need to integrated my ahci driver into winxp disc

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2929

This drivers HWID is in 12.09, use the latest version, not 11.09.

Re: [REQ] I need to integrated my ahci driver into winxp disc

Opps.

Thanks Damnation. Darn I thought I might have helped. Oh well.

When I run DPs_BASE_1006.exe and use the check for updates on DriverPacks feature it tells me I'm up to date (retested before the post).

That's how I missed the latest version. I'll check manually as well from now on. Much appreciated.

I'll try to figure out where the update DriverPacks feature is going wrong for me.

Thanks again. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: [REQ] I need to integrated my ahci driver into winxp disc

The update DriverPacks feature isn't going wrong, these two packs are still in the "Release Candidate" stage.

You can still help.

It should install properly in AHCI mode when installing from CD/DVD, after integrating the DP_MassStorage and DP_Chipset packs (see above) using DP_BASE.

WinSetupFromUSB may also work with "DP MS.iso" disabled (in Advanced options).

If neither work for your hardware, first ensure that you have latest BIOS from the Manufacturer updated.  Beware that improperly applied BIOS/firmware updates can "brick" your board.  Do so only at your own risk.

If that doesn't make a difference, then please post your DP_BASE.log in a new topic.

Re: [REQ] I need to integrated my ahci driver into winxp disc

If we need those registry keys in the txtsetup.oem for this IOHSATA driver to work properly will this require a setupreg.hiv edit?

Yes, if keys are required, then setupreg.hiv is a possibility.

IOHSATA is a scsiport.sys child driver.
Nvgts.sys is another one. This one requires PnpInterface settings.

Compare PnpInterface:
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 325#p30325
This is textmode boot only.

You have to add settings to hivesys.inf too.

Understood. I hadn't noticed that distinction. thank you.

I haven't used USB setup with XP before so I won't try something new with this laptop at this point. I'm happy to integrate the driver packs, reinstall and report results. I'm sure it'll work fine now I know the drivers are included.

Thanks.
