Topic: [IMPL] nForce Sata Controller PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0AB9

Hello -

I'm using the MassStorage pack "DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_901.7z" and it does not appear to have support for my Nvidia Nforce sata controller.

Would it be possible to get this driver included in future driverpacks?

The PCI ID of my mass storage controller is:

My computer hangs with BSOD after loading all drivers in the first stage of XP setup.
I'm using DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_901.7z and the SATA controller is
NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller (PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0AD4&SUBSYS_75081462&REV_A2\3&267A616A&0&48).

Then set to "IDE mode" in BIOS, it boots ok and runs setup well.


Is it the same issue?

Well his issue is a missing driver... yours is not missing.

Please provide info requested in "Read Before you Post" linked in my signature.
DPs_BASE.log and your BSOD error number, minimum. (was it 7b?)

I have the same issue here with a Acer Aspire X3200 which uses the nForce 720a chipset.
With all MassStorage packs, including DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_100221.7z, the initial XP setup will crash with the common BSOD 0x0000007B.
The bios of this machine will only support AHCI mode.

Integrating the SATA/IDE drivers from 15.45_nforce_winxp32_international_whql.exe or 32bit nForce SATA_IDE driver v11.1.0.33 mod by Fernando with Nlite works fine.

this is probably a replacement for NV6? or a new NV7 Folder?

if the staff wants, i edit the folders, deleting NV4, delite the line present in the new driver in NV5 and NV6, and create NV7.

the problem with Nvidia is the chipset and the mass drivers must be updated at the same time and must be matching versions.... even then it is hit or miss... Keep the excellent feedback flowing!!

Whan i using DPMS1006 there is no bluescreen (7b etc.) but there is no hard disk for install in disklist of WinXP installer (ACHI mode)
but i can see all in IDE mode

You've got 24-48 hours to test and report back in order to affect a change in 10.11 final.  I'm not waiting.
Start with test-pack #18 then try #15 next.

I have a feeling that in order to fix this nvidia fiasco once and for all we'll need to incorporate cdob's pnpinterface fix into DriverPacks BASE.

Ah, that is a clue.  I wonder what nlite does differently to the setup files...
I don't use nlite anymore, but I'll do a test integration...just to find out.
