Topic: [BUG] Intel BSOD PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2928

HI

today, I try to instal English XP in toshiba tecra a10 ptsb1e.

I integrate drivers packs in cd ans I instal, in first boot I have BSOD, but there is not ahci issue but I think it's another issue.

let me explain my self lol.

when I have BSOD, i skype from ahci to IDE mode in bios and I instal, 16 drivers packs are extrated normally but I found time very speed between 39 and 34, when instal finished, I have the surprise tha any driver are installed ( this notebook contains simple device like intel graphic card, realtek hd audio, intel wireliss card....)

so i think it's cause BSOD because HDD is detected in text mode but driver not installed like all others drivers.

so there are logs files

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?txgzgxnnjgn

so, anythings wrong with my intergration or my installation ??

So I think it's because the HDD is detected in text mode, but the PnP driver is not installed for WinPE so I get a BSOD after the reboot"

Is that a fair translation?  If i missed it please stop me wink NM too Late (sorry) tongue

Well Done - I just love Logs... Logs are cool! Thank you.

(I assume these are the HWIDs for the IDE mode? and not for the AHCI mode?)

Well your probably right about the textmode / PnP Driver for AHCI mode causing the BSOD...
don't have the HWIDs for that mode wink - We might be able to guess tongue

Why the packs are extracted but then no devices are installed is very unusual.
It looks like the finisher found all the packs too...

Did you try the  OEM\DP_Inst_Tool.cmd  on your install disc... (SAD)?

Re: [BUG] Intel BSOD PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2928

I dont think that ahci cause this, because i switch to IDE mode, when i performe an install, when installation finish, i don't have any driver installed.

about ahsci mode, it's very strange, because HDD are detected with this mode, installation performed, but in firt boot BSOD.

but the real probleme it's that I have any other driver installed (no sound,no graphic, no network, no wireless...)

I refer you to this post :

If you want to make the same test and let us know.

I'm still searching what is the matter with  that bug that seems to appear in certain conditions.

Please feed back your experience.

Have a very nice day.

Re: [BUG] Intel BSOD PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2928

ok...i will try with last nightlies and official releases ^^

Re: [BUG] Intel BSOD PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2928

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2928 was referenced in two different INFs within the I5 folder. Intel merged some files together in their last chipset release. I will delete the irrelevant files in the next test pack, I will let you know when it's ready.

Re: [BUG] Intel BSOD PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2928

one bug detected ^^

now I must juste try to understand why others drivers are extrated in the begin but not installed ^^
