Topic: Keyboard Regional Settings not show on XP install after adding DP's

Hi all,

Just created a new XP install cd with the wonderful driverpacks. How ever I am finding a strange issue where the install of windows is not showing the options page for the regional settings (keyboard layout) and installing in the default USA keyboard layout.

Tested on both XP SP2 and XP SP3 (slipstreamed) media.

I used nLite to intergrate SP3 and to create the ISO (choose no other options in nlite) and I had slipstreamed SP3 before adding DP.

Burnt the version of XP SP3 that did not have the DP's and that correctly showed the regional settings options.

Here is how I used DP Base to setup my CD

1) choose installation platfrom : Disk
2) Choose ALL DP's
3) Method 2
4) Tried Via GUIRunOnce and RunOnceEx both had same issue. (when using Ex left default start ID)
5) Enabled KTD for ALL DP's
6) Enable QSC (Fresh download)
7) Disabled CCP and Nvidia CP
8) Slipstreamed
9) used nLite to create a bootable cd.

Any suggestions on what I need to look at would be appricated

Thanks

Re: Keyboard Regional Settings not show on XP install after adding DP's

Welcome to DriverPacks scp2008,

This is by design, it is not an error.
DriverPacks is designed for unattended installs.
The OOBE (regional settings ect) is an attended feature.

DO NOT use KTD...

We do not directly support attended installations with a slipstream disc.
You can however try useing the SAD feature of DriverPacks BASE.
add ONLY mass storage textmode to your image from DriverPacks BASE
use DriverPacks BASE to create a SAD folder
then call SAD from runonce or guirunonce (or run it manually)...

PS excellent details and description thank you so much it makes support so much easier.

Re: Keyboard Regional Settings not show on XP install after adding DP's

Hello, I encountered the same problem. I understand that this is not an error, and that you do not support attended setups, but please if someone can help me...
I want to be able to select the regional settings and still can insert the drivers (specially the Mass Storage and if it's possible Chipset, CPU and LAN). I could not test your suggestion because the link is dead.
Again, please if someone can help me, please do... smile (for Winxp)

Re: Keyboard Regional Settings not show on XP install after adding DP's

add ONLY mass storage textmode to your image from DriverPacks BASE

I really really hate repeating myself... USE SEARCH
PS that fix is cut and pasted from the response above... did you read it... did you try it?

There are at LEAST an hundred references to attended setup...

Re: Keyboard Regional Settings not show on XP install after adding DP's

If you only use MSTM and SAD, you should be fine.

Re: Keyboard Regional Settings not show on XP install after adding DP's

My mistake...
At first, the link that I was talking about was taken from the rc release topic, because it was there that I found about SAD. The link was dead smile
I tryed SAD, but I don't know how to integrate the SAD directory (specially text mode drivers) into windows.
I tryed only the mass storage text mode and it still don't let me to choose regional settings, only the region.
If I cannot make the setup attended, where I can modify and enter the regional and keyboard settings because the unattend.txt is the original...?
Or should I just modify the unnatend.txt?

#edit:
Solved the Mass Storage TextMode, My mistake again....
Srry..
About the unattended part... It is possible?

Re: Keyboard Regional Settings not show on XP install after adding DP's

by adding mass storage textmode only. No changes are made to WINNT.SIF.

If Winnt.sif is not modified then you have a fully attended install... (includeing repair, region, OOBE).

If your functionality is not there then DriverPacks has nothing to do with it...

SAD must be run manually... (run dp_inst_tool.cmd)
