You nailed it, cdob !!!!!

I disabled the marvell onboard ide, disconnected the IDE dvd-rom, used a sata pioneer dvr-212, voila. No more bsod. So i will stick to using a sata dvd drive on this box.. h*ll.

God, that's a nice conflict there, because the only drivers provided by asus/intel for this motherboard are the AHCI ones. Anyone who has an IDE device connected to it with a sata drive at the same time will get either no drive detected or bsod... NICE.

Thanks a lot of the support guys. This is solved, up to some point.

it would seem we have a workaround in place... we will keep an eye open for a fix.
