Topic: Problem with network card on Optiplex 760

I have an optiplex 760 machine that I am trying to get network working in a bartpe boot cd. I have the latest version of the LAN driverpack.

It appears that the correct driver is included in the driverpack, but that it is missing the DeviceID necessary for the driver to work is not in the INF file.

I did a comparison of the INF file in the driverpack to the one included in the driver from Dell and I noticed that in the [Intel] and [Intel.NTx86.5.1] sections the following is only in the Dell INF file.

; Dell
%E10DENC.DeviceDesc% = E10DE.5.0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_10DE&SUBSYS_02761028
%E10DENC.DeviceDesc% = E10DE.5.0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_10DE&SUBSYS_027F1028

When I get a chance I will try to install the driver with and without the lines above in the INF file on the same machine with XP installed to see if it works.

I would appreciate any tips or ideas to help me get this working.

So I tried using the same driver within an existing install of XP, and it worked perfectly. I don't have much experience troubleshooting driver related issues in bartpe. Anyone have something I can try?

Re: Problem with network card on Optiplex 760

HWID for problem nic:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_10DE&SUBSYS_027F1028&REV_02\3&172E68DD&0&C8: Intel(R) 82567LM-3 Gigabit Network Connection

Re: Problem with network card on Optiplex 760

From e1k5132.inf included in their last pack version 14.0:

%E10DENC.DeviceDesc%            = E10DE.5.0,       PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_10DE
%E10DFNC.DeviceDesc%            = E10DF.5.0,       PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_10DF

Re: Problem with network card on Optiplex 760

Hi,

I am experiencing the same problem as underdone with the latest driver pack (even with the nightly 90904)

I think this driver (
ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/network/INTEL_825 … 34066.exe)  should be integrated over the one at D\L\I1.

It doesn't remove any HWID, but add the Dell ones and is signed.

It is also a newer version of the driver currently in the driver pack: 06/19/2009,10.7.31.0 while the one I linked is 07/30/2009,10.7.31.250.

Can this please be considered for integration/overwrite in the LAN pack?

Thanks.
