Ok, the problem with using the Vista Tool is that it seemingly makes no sense (bad GUI) and really is hard to follow to do anything else.. for those of us with tons of network storage, it's a real PITA that it seemingly needs to be on C: .. and integrating update packs (like TV pack, etc.) is a bitch... plus, while the short readme mentions an "extras" folder, it gives no real instructions on how/if it ever works.
Right now, like a lot above, I'm pretty trapped into using VLite and just not doing driverpacks for the moment, or doing them post-install. Which sucks. I realize it's still early in this project, h*ll, XP was out five years and DP_Base for XP is still improving. And the work done so far is impressive. It's just not a ready-for-primetime tool yet.
I say this because as slick as it is, it doesn't provide required functionality to do portions that are as important or more important (like automated installs)
