Re: Vista DriverPacks Integration ???? (How?)

We DO NOT support vlite. Use vista-tools to integrate drivers to avoid these pop-ups.

You cant use xp driverpacks as well with vista. Use vista drivers ONLY.

Hope this info helps

sad No...  To failed.... Unsuccessful

Re: Vista DriverPacks Integration ???? (How?)

Dude, I used it a few minutes before and it was very successful. But you have to extract the 7-Zip archives before ...

Re: Vista DriverPacks Integration ???? (How?)

I have not tested Windows 7 Toolkit to integrate driver to vista yet... My advice is to use vista-tools to integrate your vista drivers, and yes the drivers MUST be uncompressed.
Vista-tools has a txt file with instructions on how to use. If you use vlite then you will get lots of pop-up messages, as vlite uses some other method to integrate drivers.

Yes before the extracted. But did not again.

I'm try tools:

vLite , Windows 7 Toolkit , Vista Updates Integrator, Vista ToolKit..
Only with VLITE was a success. But the this time above the error he.

Re: Vista DriverPacks Integration ???? (How?)

there must be something else you are doing wrong then, works fine here

Re: Vista DriverPacks Integration ???? (How?)

Ok, the problem with using the Vista Tool is that it seemingly makes no sense (bad GUI) and really is hard to follow to do anything else.. for those of us with tons of network storage, it's a real PITA that it seemingly needs to be on C: .. and integrating update packs (like TV pack, etc.) is a bitch... plus, while the short readme mentions an "extras" folder, it gives no real instructions on how/if it ever works.

Right now, like a lot above, I'm pretty trapped into using VLite and just not doing driverpacks for the moment, or doing them post-install.  Which sucks.   I realize it's still early in this project, h*ll, XP was out five years and DP_Base for XP is still improving.  And the work done so far is impressive.  It's just not a ready-for-primetime tool yet.

I say this because as slick as it is, it doesn't provide required functionality to do portions that are as important or more important (like automated installs)

The tool works fine here, im using this for a very long time.
So when something doesnt work for you, dont blame us or the tool.
It makes perfect sense to me and many others.
If you can make a better tool, show us.

I'll second mr tmservo in that the interface itself is not the most user friendly and there is a steep learning curve (much like all of the unattended vista methods elsewhere). But I'll say this, this is the ONLY tool that flat out works. Mostly due to it staying strictly in the realm of WAIK. I am kind of glad that the documentation is a little sparse because it really forced me to understand WAIK and how updates and drivers are integrated, once that happened everything in Vista-Tool makes perfect sense to me smile

Now if you could only have application integration tongue There's not a single tool out there that does this correctly (despite claiming they do), and I'm already burned from following FireGeirer's guide on app integration whose instructions are no longer valid for Vista SP1 native builds (his guide is a GREAT resource otherwise).

Re: Vista DriverPacks Integration ???? (How?)

Doesnt Legolash his tool imports addons?

Yes, still in an alpha state though. I have managed to integrate Firefox 3.0.6 smile

Which tools claim they do?

Your old alpha for one smile You can read more about that here: http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=4620

Re: Vista DriverPacks Integration ???? (How?)

@OverFlow

Thanks, glad to be here smile

@Fragbert

VUT did manage to integrate addons (Firefox and 7-zip) but it was overly complicated and difficult to make your own addons. The latest alpha for VUT started getting messy and things started not to work properly which is why i just started again from scratch.

@Everyone (back on topic)
W7T integrates drivers for Windows 7 fine but DISM doesn't work with Vista. I am working out a way to integrate addons into vista.

Vista-Tools does sound promising though, although i have never used it.

Re: Vista DriverPacks Integration ???? (How?)

Maybe its time i give the Vista-Tool source code to a few people.

And welcome Legolash2o smile

Re: Vista DriverPacks Integration ???? (How?)

We should have it on the SVN server too wink

Re: Vista DriverPacks Integration ???? (How?)

I wouldn't mind seeing Vista-Tool source code tongue

Re: Vista DriverPacks Integration ???? (How?)

Well, I'll agree that the Vista-Tool needs a lot of work.  Maybe it's a limitation of WAIK since this tool is just a front-end for WAIK.  I've tried three integrations of Vista64 and all three times I've had to scrap the source and try over.  Vista-tool corrupts my install.wim.  And it takes forever!
I can't even get the tool to build an ISO!  Just telling people "works for me" doesn't help anyone.
Sorry Muiz/shahed, but I think I'll stick with vlite for the time being.  At least it works partially.
Sorry for venting my frustrations, but I've just wasted two days on this that I won't get back.

Re: Vista DriverPacks Integration ???? (How?)

Well i cant see your screen, so i cant see what you are doing wrong.
And yes the tool works fine if it helps or not, i use it for a long time now.
It never corrupted any of my wims, and if it doesnt make an iso for you, why dont you use UltraIso to do it for you, its much faster for that.
And why it doesnt make an iso? cause you probably tried to slip all hotfixes and drivers in all images and that makes it to big.
Im 100% sure its you who does someting wrong and not the tool.
And tried to slipstream drivers with vlite? non whql popups ! Vista-Tool doesnt have that problem.

So for all who dont like Vista-Tool, make a better one and share it with us.
No one was intrested in Vista drivers , so we got NO HELP at all, and we decided to do it anyway.
We even made a tool, altough we are NO programmers.
And now that we finaly posted everything people start to write comments like this, no offence.
We never had that problems when it was posten on RyanVM(For a long time they where posted there, and the hotfixes are still posted there.)

Its like this : You like Vista slipstreaming, you dont like the tool?
Help us make it better.

Smartpants, you have msn?
Maybe i can help you.

Re: Vista DriverPacks Integration ???? (How?)

guys... you both have fallen short on this one...

mr_s lets have some details about your process wink He can't help if he does not know what you did - just venting is not helpful

Muiz we know mr_s is not an idiot... Lets find out how our advanced users can get lost (and agitated), and see if we can make the proper steps more obvious to everyone. returning his frustration doesn't move us in that direction.

Lets all cool off a little and try to show more patience than I normally do wink tongue

We are a team after all - let's work together!

And ofcourse i want to help smile

Re: Vista DriverPacks Integration ???? (How?)

Sorry muiz, I had a really bad day yesterday and I took it out on you.  My apologies.

I'll create a fresh source and integrate only the updatepack and a few drivers.  I had selected image '4' for Ultimate.
I'll try again, and this time I'll take screenshots.
