Hi folks,
since several Years, i try to install a DriverPack-modified XP on a Asus P5B Mainboard.
I tried it yesterday, and with the drivers in the chipset, the HDD is still not recognized.
When i put AHCI and SATA on, and try to install XP, it can't find the HDD. I have to disable AHCI and put the controller du IDE-Simulation to find the HDD.
DVD is a XPSP3 with RyanVM 1.02 and all Driverpacks, no more gimmicks.
Please use the savehwids.exe in my signature and post the hardware ids of your device. If you don't see your HDD it's probably a mass storage driver issue, not a chipset. Have you tried our latest pack 8.11r1 ? Which OS are you using and which version of driver packs base? Please provide more specific information.

His suggestion was well intentioned but it was misleading because it was incomplete
he suggested a workaround that would need to be repeated and must be done in a certain order
He did not offer those instructions or point out the down side
(fixing it for one user and only for one source)
the rest of us wish to resolve the problem permanently and for everyone.
I might be wrong but JMicron have been tested successfully with the latest pack. So this is no probably irrelevant with 9.01.

OS was Windows XP SP3 Pro 32bit w/ RyanVM Updatepack 1.02 and DP Base 8.12.2
Note that the Issue exists since... ever, and the Asus P5B- Board is approx. 3 Years old!

I have that exact same HWID on my Gigabyte MB (different subsys): PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2363
I have zero problems in AHCI, RAID and legacy (IDE).

9.01 use 1.17.45
You can try 1.17.45 write cache disabled and 1.17.46 beta
I will update the pack to 1.17.46 when it's WHQL.
I said that i used Base 8.12 with all newest Driverpacks at this time (it's about 2 weeks ago).
I didn't try 9.01. Should i do that some time? Have you changed anything?
I also can't explain to me why i have this problem. But, like i said, i tried maaany maaany Massstorage Driverpacks and it's always the same.
Also i can say: When i use the Drivers from the asuswebsite, it works.
JMicron driver was updated in 9.01 and BSOD with AHCI/RAID mode was fixed, please read the changelog before asking us what's new. You can also read JMicron changelog on their FTP. Saying you tried many mass storage packs...don't give us any clue. However mentioning which versions you tried is helpful, please try the last one (9.01) and let us know.
