HI
I have see you want to release a new final version i posted this bug one week ago in a Topic but i think it was over lookt.
Indeed it gives a BSoD when Sata Controller is activated.
Otherwise it's fine.
HWIDs of the controller, please.
As long as the bug persists, is there any drawback if you disable the controller?
I assume it will fall back to standard IDE then.
Helmi,
If you disable the Sata controller of VirtualBox and restart the installation, it's all fine. You can finish it with success.
If you don't, you get a BSoD.
Do you really want the HWID of a virtualbox SATA controller?
yes...
- it will save us from haveing to ask you for your version of VB so we could then find and then have to perhaps uninstall our version and then load the same ver on our machine to get it
much easier for you
TIA
With the MassStorage v8.05 i have no Blue Screen on the first Windows XP load Screen.
Hope this helps:

I found what's wrong.
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2829 is duplicated; i4\iaahci.inf and i5\ich8ahci.inf.
Could you removed the file in i5 and try again ? I'm trying to figure out a fix.
I removed the file "i5\ich8ahci.inf" and test it but not work.
I also tested the new MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_901r2.7z but also not working.

If you look at the changelog included with the test pack you will notice this line:
'|PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2829 replace from [I3] to [I4] section in the INI
I suggest you put back PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2829 in the I3 section of the INI file and remove it from I4 and give a second try. Beside that changes I don't see anything else that could create such issue. Let us know, thank you.
Ok now it is working

Great! I will fix the pack then.
BTW, your welcome...

I haven't had a chance to test this yet, but I will.
Thank you Jake!
lol Eric
You remember Nick Burns from SNL ?
If the VirtualBox SATA controller is to be included in the MassStorage pack now, perhaps the VMware (v5 and v6) controllers should be as well.

@Newsposter, the virtual box controller is not owned by virtual box but Intel (located in i4 folder)
For Vmware there is already a controller in the VM folder plus VMWare use some LSI controllers which are integrated too. The best to find out is to search for the HWID. I could double check if you post the HWIDs of your controllers.
Never assumes anything before looking at it
You remember Nick Burns from SNL ?
Yeah! I miss the old episodes with Gilda Radner, John Candy, Dan Akeroyd, Chevy Chase, etc.
The new ones are just dumb.
I suggest you put back PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2829 in the I3 section of the INI file and remove it from I4 and give a second try.
This fixes the VirtualBox problem.
