Re: [BUG] nVidia problems

the stuff that was left out from 8053
(which is the not yet official intel iastor driver.. and additional H3 highpoint drivers in H3k and H3S for server and 2000)

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

Re: [BUG] nVidia problems

i can see my drive only when it is in SATA mode but can not in RAID and AHCI
MB: ASUS M2N-VM DVI bios v701
is it ok? In privious release (before 8.04) everything worked like a charm in RAID mode!

Re: [BUG] nVidia problems

anybody can help?

Re: [BUG] nVidia problems

Hi C400,

most testers have learned ways to find the conflicting driver.
Load order can change result.
Not loading a 'suspect' competing driver can also change result.
HWIDs Readouts help, testers with the hardware can read the %SystemRoot%\setupapi.log and %SystemRoot%\DPsFnshr.log and when such logs are used to single out the problem competitor 'by smart halving' or by 'load order changes' they (the tester doing IT..) can help team to find the solution to this puzzle.

I hate puzzles.
Today I read a request for a yamaha driver and I looked at the microsoft update driver for it. I find a M$ WU driver WHQL for yamaha.. I look at the HWIDS and see a SiS competitor with exact same HWID.
Nvidia and many other drivers are re-using same HWID for different hardware.
What is worse is that there are also ill written drivers competing non-related components.
(real hardware based conflicts/non-resolvable?)

I see that the latest catalyst driver has a few unresolved issues with VIA and SiLicon in the catalyst changelog.
Erm? HELP?
I really mean 'WE NEED HELP'.

Re: [BUG] nVidia problems

I came back from leave and start sending you bugreports smile

806E: Windows Installer does not see RAID array. Motherboard ASUS M2N-E; Raid Stripe of the three discs + separately connected SATA Seagate 320 Gb. Windows Installer sees only drives connected via the IDE. When you install tried to physically disconnect IDE disks, but that does not work, RAID drives and SATA drives still do not see.

Remove from the image files with the names nvraid, nvatabus, NVGTS5, NVGTS6, NVRD325 and all references to these files in dosnet.inf and txtsetup.sif. After the integration of these drivers, everything worked - http://samforum.ws/share/rapidshare/735222

Worked on Windows 8.1 Pro

Re: [BUG] nVidia problems

Not found hard drivers, but in XP SP3 without DP - ok!

Do you have access to this machine still?

Does this HardwareID refer to ASUS M2N-E?
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_037F&SUBSYS_82391043&REV_A2\3&2411E6FE&0&28: NVIDIA nForce 590/570/550 Serial ATA Controller

Please provide another HardwareID list.
run: devcon.exe hwids *CC_01* *Raid*

Can you test driverpacks 806E again?
But add a file \I386\MIGRATE.INF to CD

[Version]
Signature = "$Windows NT$"

[Addreg]
HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\nvgts5\Parameters\PnpInterface","5",0x00010003,1
HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\nvgts6\Parameters\PnpInterface","5",0x00010003,1

Boot CD.
Does Windows Installer sees RAID drives and SATA drives now?
Be aware: Question is about textmode setup only so far. First reboot may fail still.

Re: [BUG] nVidia problems

With DP not installed Windows XP SP3! In Windows setup on diskette have drivers NVIDIA SATA or NVIDIA RAID from folder SCSI Adapters - installation is fine!

Re: [BUG] nVidia problems

In new version need use universal nforce driver - and in result have this code:

[NVRAID]
ms_count=1
ms_1_deviceName="NVIDIA nForce 4-7 RAID-Controller"
ms_1_tag="nvrd32"
ms_1_sysFile="nvrd32.sys"

Re: [BUG] nVidia problems

Whats new in 809C? Universal nVidia drivers i don`t find sad With UniDriver on nforce 5.x installed good drivers and with your DP on nforce 5.x installed 4.x drivers!!!  NEED Universal Drivers!

Worked on Windows 8.1 Pro

Re: [BUG] nVidia problems

Just tested 809C on Live system and now getting no hard drives found during textmode.  All worked ok with 806F.

System: Giga-byte GA-M59SLI-S5 (nForce 590a)
