Topic: [SLVD] newb, cant get HP dc5800 to display hard drive

What's up.

So I have downloaded the DriverPacks and followed the instructions to setup the plugin. Howerver when I burn image to CD and try to boot the machine BartPE won't recognize the drive.

I am using Build 3110a with XP SP2, Desktop is an HP DC5800. The build is successful with no error messages or warnings.

Thanks,

Re: [SLVD] newb, cant get HP dc5800 to display hard drive

was the dp mass storage plugin enabled in pebuilder? (sorry dont know your experience level)

base version and mass storage version would be nice to know too...

can i have the HWIDS of the mass storage controler please?

did you use my tutorial as a reference (the "instructions" you followed were mine)?

Hey OverFlow,

Thanks for replying to my post. I am using 805 version of DPsBase mass storage is 803.7z. Not sure what you mean by HWIDS? I did use your tutorial for BartPE and saw that the plugin was enabled. Do I have to do something else once I start BartPE or does the hard drive should just show up?

Thanks,

Re: [SLVD] newb, cant get HP dc5800 to display hard drive

The hwids for your device in question may be determined by running the tool in his signature. Without this, we're only guessing at what's happening.

Galapo.

Re: [SLVD] newb, cant get HP dc5800 to display hard drive

Well your HWID's are missing from the mass storage pack - so the error is not on your end...

can you post a link to the driver that you know works for your controller
If so then we will make sure it is supported in the future...

thanks for bringing this to our attention. (we hate missing drivers wink)

Re: [SLVD] newb, cant get HP dc5800 to display hard drive

IT's part of the chipset pack....Overflow do you agree if I move every IDE/SATA drivers that comes with the Intel chipset pack into mass storage ? It makes more sense.

Re: [SLVD] newb, cant get HP dc5800 to display hard drive

I'm not Overflow, but I for one would agree with that.

Re: [SLVD] newb, cant get HP dc5800 to display hard drive

Re: [SLVD] newb, cant get HP dc5800 to display hard drive

Thanks to all for looking at my problem. Unfortunately HP seems to not have the storage driver on their site, they do however have the chipset driver here is a link to the drivers page on their site: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Te … 1093#11394

I hope this link works for you guys, let me know if you need more info on my end. In the meantime what do you guys suggest I do?

Again thanks for the help.

Re: [SLVD] newb, cant get HP dc5800 to display hard drive

We have your driver deivid, it's just in the wrong pack. I will update mass and chipset soon, I will let you know.

Re: [SLVD] newb, cant get HP dc5800 to display hard drive

Jeff and Erik and RuudBoek taught us a great deal, and Jonathan was one of the people they groomed.
Angles and Dangles in SSN training could get you disoriented, and the problems faced by sysprep guru could get a DriverPacks dev way off board.

I am very pleased with the efforts and feedback.
I thought DriverPack MassStorage, DriverPack Graphics A and DriverPack Chipset will have to ride along to finally get into same version 'bug filter' trip before they get onto finals.
(what I mean.. DriverPack Graphics A is ready for final, but is that not going to get into jeopardy when DriverPack Chipset, DriverPack LAN  and DriverPack MassStorage (( in which NV have to apparently dance to same tune), (with a small possibility about some some iffiness in DP sound)..)) are updated?.

does this make sense?.

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

Re: [SLVD] newb, cant get HP dc5800 to display hard drive

I mentioned angles and dangles because that is the first thing one does before one takes a real ride in a ssn.
(I like Clancy. A lot.)

We like you to take testrides with what our team puts up, and we learn a lot in the process.
Jeff and cdob (and some other, please forgive me for not having your name available to my brain for now.) have made a strong point about the version dance.
Chips, Lan, graphics and Mass sometimes share common origin when we get an update download, and I agree to the common sense of the finding.

Discord in version was apparently not such a big issue until we had to add those hard to add.

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.
