Nice to see how it made WHQL even with these glaring bugs...!

It's a farce, I'm tellin' you!

Re: [IMPL] JMicron R1.17.39.07

Since when WHQL means means something... big_smile  I must agree with Overflow when he says newer is not always better. The best way to find if you must update or not is always to look at the actual changelog.

Re: [IMPL] JMicron R1.17.39.07

Yeah, never said it did, just thought this was a excellent example to prove it once again! wink

Re: [IMPL] JMicron R1.17.39.07

In the present version 808A driver version 1.17.39.07:
1) "JMicron Hot-Plug Driver" (SATA)
2) "JMB37X Standard Dual Channel PCIE IDE Controller"
but for some reason set only "JMicron Hot-Plug Driver" (SATA), although I have only IDE drive.
From version 1.17.41.1, even when running a full package of drivers without the developer's choice put "JMicron Hot-Plug Driver" (SATA).
A version 1.17.39.07 in the process of installing the complete package, you can choose WHAT drivers wish to establish:
1) JMicron SCSI Driver-Support Hot-plug features for SATA hard disk
2) Standart IDE Driver
If you choose the second (BENQ 1640 - IDE interface) all works on hurrah.
NEED Fixed!!!

Worked on Windows 8.1 Pro

Re: [IMPL] JMicron R1.17.39.07

So basically you want us to update the JMicron driver ?

Re: [IMPL] JMicron R1.17.39.07

Like you mention there is a newer version of the driver which is 1.17.41.1 but it's beta. When it will be WHQL I will update it. For now, you can test it on your own.

Re: [IMPL] JMicron R1.17.39.07

The package 808A is a minimum needed to install drivers, and when after installing Windows launch a full package from the developer, then there is an interface with a choice of installed drivers, which is not in the first case, and put on silent SATA driver. The only possible to try to remove from the DP SATA driver and leave the IDE, but someone and they (SATA) may be required (used to connect an external SATA). And how to make them recognized and properly installed (with the installation of assembly) has not yet know.
After all, in place of DVD-drive can stand HDD-IDE and how it then install OS.
I have no HDD-IDE, check on what not.
But rather inclined to what version of OS installation on external HDD-SATA (even some exotic, installing OS to an external drive, for which such a need might arise?) Much more than a rare case, on its internal HDD-IDE, connected through JMicron JMB36X - controller (another IDE controller on the mother board not).
P.S. Different versions put did not try, it is necessary, might get.

P.S. Discovered that DriverPack_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32.ini only:
[J]
ms_count=1
ms_1_deviceName="JMicron JMB36X RAID Controller"
ms_1_tag="jraid"
ms_1_sysFile="jraid.sys"
ms_1_hwids="PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2360&CC_0104,PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2361&CC_0104,PCI\VEN_197 B&DEV_2363&CC_0104,PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2366&CC_0104,PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2360&CC_0106,PCI\ VEN_197B&DEV_2361&CC_0106,PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2363&CC_0106,PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2366&CC_01 06,PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2373&CC_0104,PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2373&CC_0106"
ms_1_isBusExtender=false

It may add information from there on JMIDE.INF
JMICRON="JMicron Technology Corp."
PCI\CC_0101.DeviceDesc = "JMB36X Standard Dual Channel PCIE IDE Controller"
PCI\CC_0101.DeviceDesc_37x = "JMB37X Standard Dual Channel PCIE IDE Controller"
