Topic: Possible Filename Duplicate Issue for Network Drivers in BartPE

I was looking through some of the network drivers and found that some of the Intel network drivers have files with the same name.  This occurs in the following Intel driver folders:

I\PRO100
I\PRO1000
I\PROSETDX
I\PROXGB

Some of the same filenames are:

PROUnstl.exe
NicCo.dll
NicCO6.dll
NicInE6.dll
NicInstE.dll
NicInst.dll

I'm not sure if these will need to be made into unique filenames for when network drivers are used in BartPE, but I did want to bring it up just in case.

Re: Possible Filename Duplicate Issue for Network Drivers in BartPE

I use a plugin in PE for Intel because for some reasons the "normal method" does not copy some sys file. If the files are identical, its no big deal. Plus in PE all you need really is your sys file. PROUnstl.exe is obsolete for sure too.

I merged the 3 folder toguether in the last release. http://driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/download.php?pag=l

in Bartpe the last file copied (with the same name) wins

so whichever driver is the last one added overwrites the previous files with the same name. ;(

Re: Possible Filename Duplicate Issue for Network Drivers in BartPE

Hi,
DriverPacks has not yet released an PE optimised LAN DP.

But, it is in the works. The DriverPack LAN was already looked at (over a year ago, actually) and we did it without proper tools.
Intel and Nvidia (especcially Nvidia) are using same filenames across different chips.
Jeff started the work for LAN PE 'exception code' some weeks weeks ago, and we can but hope that new updates don't always drop spanners in the work.
There is a topic in LAN forum where all Nvidia LAN drivers  can be looked at. It is an eye opener.
(It has a link to a collection with the original drivers I collected early June..)
It does not have the Joshua plugin driver, though. (Nvidia filtered by Joshua)

PE users can help Jeff by reporting best combinations..

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.
