Re: Graphics A 8.09rc4 for testing purposes (REPORTS wanted)
Thanks SamLab for confirming the fixes for me.
Note: This driver is provided as is and is not supported by AMD. It has not completed full AMD testing, and is only recommended for users experiencing the particular issue described above.
They say that for EVERY hotfix.
Even the Radeon HD AGP cards hotfix, although, as you know, they only differ by some REG entries.
More of a legal disclaimer probably than a tech warning.

You're right...hotfix it is then. Unfortunately, that will break driver signing for some notebooks.
Wouldn't that already be broken for all the models not initially supported by the Mobility Catalysts as we need to edit the INF?
Just wondering.
What about AVIVO? Does anyone use that? I could add it as a finisher exception.
When I feel like it, I do install it.
Haven't been using it (actually, I'm not quite sure what I would really need it for...???), but w/e.
Probably doesn't hurt, though.
My advice would be to wait for 8.7 in July for making an offical DP. I notice that nightlies are more liberal with unsigned betas, so I and all the other guinea pigs can certainly test the beta hotfix DP for you until then...
Sounds like an idea.
Of course, nightlies are "more liberal", that's what their name means.
Basically, it's a release of "what has been done so far" at the end of each working day (aka "night").
Takes no warranty for nothing by definition (rather alpha than beta).
Personally, I have made only good experiences with ATI hotfix drivers, however as you may now, I am generally against inlcuding anything beta in the DP releases - that is unless it fixes a serious bug.
So it's a green light coming from me - not that I would have anything to say in that matter
