Topic: [SLV] Intel PRO 1000 CT (VEN_8086&DEV_1019&SUBSYS_2026107B)

I cant find this driver in any of the driverpack releases. PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1019&SUBSYS_02A71014 is there, but wrong Subsys (the hardware I have is:

 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1019&SUBSYS_2026107B&REV_00\4&26062112&0&0818: Intel(R) PRO/1000 CT Network Connection

). Maybe we need to put a generic in for it?

Don't worry Dan, here is a generic PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1019 in e1000325.inf in the latest lan driver pack at least. So this one should work just fine.

Brilliant, thank you again Jake. I'll post if I have issues still.

Have done no testing on my own but using the drivers on a BartPE disk, and still have the issue. Ill do some tweaking and see what I can come up with.

Re: [SLV] Intel PRO 1000 CT (VEN_8086&DEV_1019&SUBSYS_2026107B)

Wow. I can't believe that worked. I don't know if you remember what I did for the dell specific drivers (/I2/) to work with BartPE, but it was the Manufacturer field that trips up BartPE on the generics. So I just figured I'd tried it... I thought what the heck I'll try it any way..

It worked.

Provider    = %Intel%
CatalogFile = e1000325.cat
DriverVer   = 11/07/2007,8.10.1.0

[Manufacturer]
%Intel%     = Intel

This change in the e1000325.inf enabled BartPE to correctly compile with the files needed for the generic drivers. I hope this solves issues for others who have many Intel generics and use BartPE wink

Next step.. see if the drivers work in Windows~!

Note: Maybe this should be standard for Intel drivers in the packs? I'm sure every card should have the ability to work in BartPE. Will doing this have any negative impact on the Windows side of the drivers?

Re: [SLV] Intel PRO 1000 CT (VEN_8086&DEV_1019&SUBSYS_2026107B)

Have you tried the RIS inf ?

Sometimes RIS drivers are necessary for PE.

Re: [SLV] Intel PRO 1000 CT (VEN_8086&DEV_1019&SUBSYS_2026107B)

i recall looking at them and noticed the manuf. only said intel like the changes ive made. some website was looking to make the drivers on RIS and i used the same idea to 'fix' the drivers.   Do you know of any harm that would be done by taking changing the intel driver's manuf. contents?

i know i may repack my drivers for bartpe use as I use custom boot disks constantly for all hardware.

Re: [SLV] Intel PRO 1000 CT (VEN_8086&DEV_1019&SUBSYS_2026107B)

it will break driver signing and may cause a correct match to be passed over in normal windows setup

oooo ouch. Ok so I'll only do that for bartpe then. Thanks OverFlow.
