we don't add drivers that are not available on the main site... in this case intel.
leaked, beta, or unofficial sources are not valid here...
We want stable packs, making current packs is secondary to that goal.
We are always aware of the top vendors releases such as ATI, Nvidia, SI, and Intel. a proper link is below...

Pss station-drivers always keeps us WAY ahead of ANY current releases.
(they leak drivers pre release so by watching them we know well in advance of their impending official release.)

I'm not sure how useful the Intel utility itself is for the Driver Packs themselves, but it might be useful as a **guide** for what is really necessary to support Intel mobos and chipsets.

Nope, not a single 'driver' in there. The 'dll' files are all language/locale specific and are translation tables for the setup installer.
However, the utility is chock-full of chipset-specific .cat and .inf files though and as such is probably the definitive, single-source for such things from Intel. No need to hunt all over for mobo-specific installers. Just grab this thing once a month (or whenever) and drop the inf files into the chipset driverpack.
The .inf files also list out just about every (valid?!?) HardwareID for Intel motherboards. Nice source of information there.

Hi.
Well, this is what we do..
The content of "all" folder gets dropped into the chipset folder (and we leave the older files in because intel drops support for old hardware).
Right now, this content is copied three times.. because the DriverPacks BASE uses three specific folders for method 1.

Well that is how it was / has always been done...
The inf seeding that used to be done by m1 was dropped by me a few releases ago.
the separation of the OS platforms is no longer required. (unless they are unique - and they are not)
going forward there will be a new folder layout and we will need to populate the ini file to make DriverPacks chipset compatible with PE.

I have to err on the safe side.. for backward compatibility.
When I test the new 805 chipset testpack I know it works with DriverPacks BASE 805, but a good many users may not have upgraded to DriverPacks BASE 805 yet, and when we release chips 805? with a single intel folder we'll have to tell people to please upgrade their DriverPacks BASE 7052 if they want all features.

yeah some testing with an old base will tell us if teh missing folders will be an issue.
I dont belive they will... but i havent tested it yet

Nope, not a single 'driver' in there.
Dude your lost....a driver is a .sys file, .inf is like a setup, it tell where the sys should be copied and add some registry entries and the .cat file is the digital signature. Google it next time.

Intel has posted version 9.00.1008 of their chipset drivers on their web site.

do not request ATI Nvidia or Intel files... WE are fully aware of thier releases (it is what we do)
