Topic: Problem installing Graphic drivers

Hello all,

Sorry if this problem has been already mentionned but i haven't found the resolution here. The ATI Mobility drivers can't get installed because it searches the files into C:\D\G\A\1\.\B_52365 instead of C:\D\G\A\1\B_52365

So i have to wait for the first boot to give the right path in the device manager. Any idea about where this path error comes from ?

I'm using graphic pack A 7.10, with ATI control panel (the one that doesn't require .NET 2.0) configured in the Driverpack base.

Thank you.

Well, my first question would be why are you using an older DP?
You should try our latest/greatest: http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=1642

If I had to guess, the flaw was in the mobility.inf file in A\1\
Near the end of the text file I'll bet it reads
[SourceDisksNames.x86]
1 = %DiskId%,,,.\.\B_52365

Instead of correctly reading:
[SourceDisksNames.x86]
1 = %DiskId%,,,.\B_52365

In any case, try the new DriverPacks, they're as bug-free as I can make them.

I've believed these new releases were just beta. Thanks, i'll give them a try.

Well, they are beta.  But by testing them and working out the bugs they then become final.  We can't finalize any DP without testing first.

Re: Problem installing Graphic drivers

Hello all,

I've got a new problem with ATI drivers. I've noticed it on a few different PC (ie : ATI Mobility Radeon HD2400 on an Asus F3SR notebook). The drivers seem to get installed, but not properly because i get an exclamation mark in the device manager. I have to uninstall them from there, and then to reinstall them by pointing to the ATI drivers folder. In this case, manually, it works perfectly. But why not during the installation process ?

Is it linked to the deletion of \D folder at the last step of RunOnceEx ?

I use graphics pack A 8.01.

Thank you.

Re: Problem installing Graphic drivers

You can try this one.  I added the GART driver back in (with other tweaks).  Please report back with your findings (good/bad).

Done. That's the same problem with DP_Graphics_A_wnt5_x86-32_80309_nightly. I had to uninstall the drivers from the device manager, and reinstall them manually by pointing the path to D:\G\A1.

Re: Problem installing Graphic drivers

Did you use nLite to inject any drivers into your source?  I can't think of another reason unless you have other drivers on your XP install disk somewhere.
Before you uninstall the drivers and point to D\G\A1, go to device manager, click on the device properties, click the "Driver" tab, then look at the "Driver Provider".
Does it say ATI or Microsoft?

The only other thing I can think of is the HD2400 has an HDMI port and needs the sound drivers loaded for that card.  But since you say everything works after pointing to the G\A1 folder.....hmmm.
hmm

I don't know what to tell you.

Can you post your DPsFnshr.log?
