Topic: [IMPL] VIA Rhine II: 19 September 2007 dated drivers

There are new drivers showing on Windows Update for VIA Rhine II, dated 19 September 2007.
Windows XP-32 Device Manager shows as version: 3.72.0.457.
The latest available on Viaarena.com [described as being version 3.60a, dated 23 October 2007]:

I believe these are the same as what's available on WU, version: 3.72.0.457.

This is the exact same version provided in the last DP. Drivers from Windows Update is a piece of sh*t always been, always will.

Here is the newest driver from VIA Arena for VIA Rhine II.  It is version 6.0 and dated 14 November 2007.

@JakeLD:  I'm helping out someone who said the current driver in the LAN DriverPack doesn't install for his VIA Rhine II.  I was able to have him get                   HWID for me so I could post it on here to help resolve the issue quicker.

I checked the current driver in the LAN DriverPack and the new driver I posted the link to and both have the HWID of PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3065&SUBSYS_80ED1043.  Does the "&REV_78" part matter for HWIDs?

@Echo_Platoon the &REV_78 should not matter please post your setupapi.log ad dpfinisher.log so I can look them over I have already updated the pack with drivers you posted but I do not see anything in the inf file that would make the updated drivers work and not the old drivers. Once I get the log files I will look them over and post a test pack with the updated drivers for you to test.

@dolivas:  I would not be able to post any of that.  I was helping out a remote user with this issue.  I am having him try the new drivers in general to make sure they work for him.  I'm waiting to hear back from him.  I think he may have done something wrong somewhere if the very last part of the HWID shouldn't make a difference.  I'll let him know that the drivers should have worked for him.

I also did not see anything in the new INF that would make a difference.

Hi when I instal VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter using LAN driver pack,XP used juste defaut drivers  (compatible via)...I try this with 3 machinbes

it's a bug or driver not added ??

all other driver work fine ^^...and in another machine with reallak LAN adapter that's work fine too...

I may have found the issue, there is a generic HWID in the inf (PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3065). I will update the driver and comment the line, it could resolve the issue. A test pack will be available soon.
