I do wanna hear about VIA fix
C2 Update?, I'm a bit loss...
Anyway I'll do with the MassStorage 712, post later since i"ll be flashing my bios.
Hi hectorfx
BAM tried the INI edit and it worked..
(he tested for Sil 3112)
When I uploaded 7128 testpack with the INI changes I had proposed and he had tested, I had also included an update in [C2].
The D\M\C2 update had to be postponed, because it made setup fail.
The other work tested OK, and I released the pack.
December release 7121 loads [V] after [V4]
Remember that when you detect a driver conflict, you can move around some sections in INI.

@Jaak
Took me time to reply because I tried to make sure that there's no hardware issue before I report back. I've checked all hardware then made the test and also move [V] around some sections in INI and also made testing on my cousin board b'coz we have same board.
Still its no go, it didn't detect the SATA harrdisk at Text Mode and went further to change harddisk from Seagate to Western Digital - just to be sure.
It did pass on Asus P5P800-VM and Asrock ConRoe1333-D667 and went further to test on VIA generic motherboard base on Intel Celeron 667 (370 Pin).
thanks for helping us to help you !
good info and feedback - we will keep at it till its gold!
@OverFlow
Thanks
Hi
VIA issue... I think I found the reason.
@Jaak
Can you release test pack, for me test....
*edit 1/4/08*
You mentioned about VIA issue and reason... Kindly share your thoughts.

Hi, this is my 1st post at this forum
Any news about this VIA problem? I tested the DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_7121.7z on my PCs with VIA chipset and Windows installation didn't find SATA HDDs also...
btw: motherboard model was ECS P4M890T-M: http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Produc … mp;LanID=0

I was able to solve the issue(just this morning) for my motherboard Asus P5VD2-X (VIA PT890 Chipset)...
@Skeptic
Hope we have the same chipset...
I delete all entries of my mass storage hwid's in the V4 section of the ini [DriverPack_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32.ini] then move V3 section on top of other Vx section and made sure that all mass storage hwid's of my chipset are present in V3... then voila.
Hope this work for you...
I'm using the older "DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_7092.7z" at the moment and its working fine too for me...
up ...
http://dev.driverpacks.thesneaky.com/dr … -32_803.7z
Try this one and let me know.
I updated the VIA drivers, if it's not working i'll move the INI sections.
@JakeLD
I'll test it tonight and report back tommorow, thanks.
@Skeptik
Can you post what kind of VIA Chipset is your Motherboard?
+notice+
Hi
V3 got nulled in INI.
That means it is there for PnP, and not for TXTmode.
V3 is via's miniIDE.
for extra reliability on other chips, please also test disc based install in server 2000/2003
@JakeLD
I'm also having problem with DP 803 during setup "The file LSI_SAS.sys could not be found." But manage to fix it by deleting entries referring to that file. Now testing DP 8015... - what's change?
@Jaak
No problem now regarding text mode setup on VIA PT890 Chipset but having a problem on the Hot Plug feature in Windows. But tried manual install works fine.
Now I'll try the DP 8015 see how it works...
Can't guarantee test on Server 2000/2003 .. I can make a test installation but it won't help much....
BTW: LSI_SAS.sys could not be found [DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_803], appears in every test installation I made on Intel base chipset motherboard and VIA.

new testfile
http://dev.driverpacks.thesneaky.com/dr … 32_8016.7z
\L1 added INTEL (lsi) megaIDE
updated \M marvel (with driver from Intel)
moved [V] to original position in INI (V3 was and is still disabled for TXTmode.)
uploading it again.. using same name 8016
you won't believe this.
I had uploaded from a folder in which I had forgotten to copy the new L1 folder... which breaks streaming.
it should be up again..
I tried DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_801.7z on Clevo M660SE notebook, which is with VIA VN896+8237A chipset, and hard disk was not detected.
Last working version on this notebook for me is DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_7092.7z

Please try this one http://dev.driverpacks.thesneaky.com/dr … 32_8024.7z
No success for me with this one either... still cannot find HDD.

MassStorage pack ver. 8025 didn't fix it either...
Hardware IDs for this notebook:
PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_0571&SUBSYS_06641558&REV_07\3&61AAA01&0&79 : VIA Bus Master IDE Controller - 0571
PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_0591&SUBSYS_06641558&REV_80\3&61AAA01&0&78 : VIA Serial ATA Controller - 0591
ViPrt.inf contains "VIA Serial ATA Controller - 0591"
Therefore BIOS uses IDE mode. This should be a PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_0591&CC_0101
To confirm please run 'devcon.exe hwids PCI\CC_01*'. Post output.
VIA HyperionPro contains a txtsetup.oem for VRAIDDrv version.
viamraid.sys should work at textmode.
But there is no txtsetup.oem for SATAIDE.
ViPrt.sys may not be tested at textmode. ViPrt.sys may result a BSOD 0x7b at textmode.
Can you disable [V4] section and try again?
