Have just acquired a new Gigabyte GA-M56S-S3 MB, and the current chipset & lan driverpacks don't recognise this chipset, can you guy's please take a look at this ??

Have you tried installing the factory nvidia 12.15 drivers you linked to? Do they work?
We prefer to use factory drivers whenever possible instead of specialized drivers like Gigabyte or Dell.
I'm downloading the nvidia package now...all 77MB of it.

To answer your question, after running my XP install, I then ran the driver disk that came with the mobo, and it set up the "missing" drivers, I only setup OS on a non raid setup, and I'd say that the driver pack would not recognise the raid drivers during that part of the procedure, mind you I haven't tried.
As for the LAN driver's, I've noticed that in the LAN driverpack forum, you have posted a reply, as there was another request for the same d/l from nVidia for the 520/560 drivers, which has both the chipset, mass storage & lan drivers in it, so even tho it's a bit on the large side, you get "3 in 1"

The Chipset DP should follow soon, but the Mass Storage drivers look complicated. Best to leave that one for others experienced in the task (Jaak, Muiz).

a while back I downloaded 17 nvidia drivers.. about a gigabyte worth.
I am not doing NV chipset for a reason.
There is some exception coding in Base for method 1, and intel and NV folders are hard referenced in the code

I guess I should buy an nvidia-based system when I build my new rig for Xmas.
Should the test version (7081) or the new one (709) fix this and would it help with the LAN controller on a nVidia 430 based mother board (Asus M2N-MX)?
Always go with the numerically higher version.
Test versions are just that...for testing purposes. Many times test versions become final, but other times there are components missing from test versions that get fixed when made final.

Hope the new pack works for this board, I did a install with 708 and no NIC or video (eek, but that is another thread)
I'm a newbie here; I have the same issue as aradke - has this been fixed yet? I have an M2N-MX and a GA-M61P-S3, both with same Nvidia chipsets, and I have to use the MB mfr disk to get my LAN working.

the chipset DriverPacks with the Nvidia updates has been released some time ago, and we have a testpack for LAN which has the better choice. (a newer Nvidia Lan driver than what we put in exists, but is was supporting a single device.. whereas the driver we updated to has a wide range covered.)
Lan is sheduled to go final soon. JakeLD wants to add an attansic driver, and has yet another realtek update..
This one already has those Nvidia
