Re: [SOLVED] SiI 3112r controller doesnt work: 0x7B BSOD

Just tried the driverpack when I was reinstalling my system. I got a SI3112 sata raid on my system. 2x250gb in raid0 but the install used si3112 file insted of si3112r and cause of that it found my harddrive as 2 drives insted of one. So i booted up my original install disc and used a floppy and selected si3112r driver and it worked. THe installation found it as 1 disc with ~500gb.

So dunno if its a prob with the windows install or maybe something in the driverpack. Just thought it might be something to report.

Re: [SOLVED] SiI 3112r controller doesnt work: 0x7B BSOD

I have the same problem but with a different controller. Mine is Jmicron JMB360 (ASRock 939Dual-SATA2) and I have the BSOD 0x7B when I try to install Winxp. This issue is related only when I have update my unattended cd with the latest driverpacks that you have released. With previous version I haven't had any problem and the installation of Winxp is ok. I can't help you with hwid, because I can't install Winxp, sorry.

And sorry for my bad english smile

Huh? That driver is also slipstreamed!

Is it now the ONLY driver that you've slipstreamed? You used nLite I guess? And it worked only AFTER you had updated the BIOS? Then probably it will also work if you simply use the DriverPacks. Could you retry to confirm that?

Re: [SOLVED] SiI 3112r controller doesnt work: 0x7B BSOD

Bâshrat, I want to ask you a question about this problem. I have mentioned above that I have Jmicron JMB360 controller. After I have slipstreamed the masstorage package in text mode, there are files for each controller compressed in I386 directory, right? Do you have used "makecab" command for compress those files? I have make a my personal (for verify if is a compression problem) Jahci.sy_ file. The file, slipstreamed with your app, is 13.920 bytes, mine is 15.275 bytes, I have used the "makecab" command. This afternoon when I'll go home I'll try if the BSOD 0x07B persists

I have found this also: http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3 … 6&y=19
Maybe it can help. I hope tongue

EDIT: I have tried but without success... sad

Re: [SOLVED] SiI 3112r controller doesnt work: 0x7B BSOD

I have discovered the problem for my sata2 controller JMicron JMB360 (maybe for all the controllers). I'll post here a piece (a pieco of code for my controller) of a slipstreamed txtsetup.sif with masstorage controller.

PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2360="jraid"
PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2361="jraid"
PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2363="jraid"
PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2365="jraid"
PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2366="jraid"

As you can see these are all my hwids for Jmicron controllers, but, as you can see, they load all "jraid" program. My controller doesn't use raid, so when text install of winxp finish, Winxp will go in 07b BSOD.

I have chainged PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2360="jraid" in PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2360="jahci" (this is my sata controller id) and now the installation of winxp works.

Maybe this solution is for all controllers, maybe not. Try this workaround. smile

The right settings are in txtsetup.oem. This file is in zipped sata drivers that motherboard producers releases.

Sorry for bad english.

Re: [SOLVED] SiI 3112r controller doesnt work: 0x7B BSOD

Nope, it's only for your controller. But I did not know these devices had the same HWIDs!!!

Why I didn't check that? Their names, as well as their drivers, are completely different, as you can see:

<from the changelog of DriverPack MassStorage 6.08> wrote:

JMicron 20360/20363 AHCI Controller    08/15/2005, 5.2.0.207    J\1
JMicron JMB36X RAID Controller    06/26/2006, 1.12.04.00    J\2

Will fix it through using the CC_104 and CC_106 suffixes.

Re: [SOLVED] SiI 3112r controller doesnt work: 0x7B BSOD

Hello!

I have the same problem but with the JMicron JMB363 controller. I get BSOD 0x0000007B after the files have been copied.
The strange thing is that I don't get bluescreen when Massstorage 6.03.1 is used.

The HWID is:
PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2363&SUBSYS_81E41043&REV_02\4&18CD42CE&0&00E4: Standard-Dual Channel PCI IDE-styrenhet

The controller is detected as a: Standard-Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller when driverpack 6.03.1 is used

Is there some way I can get it to work with 6.08? Can i remove some drivers in the driverpack or make som changes in txtsetup.sif?

Re: [SOLVED] SiI 3112r controller doesnt work: 0x7B BSOD

Greetings,

I have the same problem. A couple of months ago I used mass-storage pack 603.1 into an XP SP2 cd to install on a Silicon Image 378 onboard SATA/RAID controller. I recreated a similar CD with 6.08.7 mass-storage, chipset and LAN. This caused a BSOD on 'starting windows' in text mode setup on two machines one wit the 378 and the other an asus P5N32-SLI (nforce4 / Silicon image something again).

I used 'Method 2' of intergration all times. I've not had a chance to experiement with others, I just wanted to let you know there is definately something odd about 6.08.7

Re: [SOLVED] SiI 3112r controller doesnt work: 0x7B BSOD

It's version 6.08.6 wink And method 1 and 2 only apply to the the integration of PnP drivers, text mode drivers are always slipstreamed using the same method.

The strange thing is that NOTHING has changed. Really NOTHING. That's why it's so hard to track down... Been searching for the cause for HOURS without finding anything relevant. Therefore I've suspended this and am now focusing on solving the other DriverPack problems (mainly missing drivers). After that, I will focus on this problem again.

Re: [SOLVED] SiI 3112r controller doesnt work: 0x7B BSOD

sorry bout the pause, havent had a chance to get back to it yet Bash,

no way to nlite, its crap for me, all the combinations of removals ive tried with it just cause me grief with errors so ive given nlite the flick, just using driverpacks and ryanvms updates...(not worried about the extra size as using dvd...

and yes, the latest driver when slipstreamed normally wouldnt work for me, until i put a copy of that file into i386, with method 1, bit busy at the moment to get back into it, when i do i'll be bak to let u know how i go wink

Re: [SOLVED] SiI 3112r controller doesnt work: 0x7B BSOD

Hi, i have the same problem as BAM. Using a Asus a7N8X-E deluxe mainboard

HWID:

PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_61121095&REV_02\4&3B1D9AB8&0&5840: Silicon Image SiI 3112 SATARaid Controller

Problem: not the sil3112r but the sil3112 file is loaded. IT HAS TO BE sil3112r!

This problem only occurs when using hdd's in RAID. (With non-RAID the si3112 gets loaded offcourse, and install works perfectly)

I tried an normal windows xp pro with sp2, loaded the (newest) sil3112r drivers via f6, and it worked.... So its not a driver problem.... :S

I hope you can do something with this info Bâshrat.... big_smile

Good luck!

Has nothing to do with this problem !

For the rest :

Silicon has new drivers , maybe that will help.

Re: [SOLVED] SiI 3112r controller doesnt work: 0x7B BSOD

Bump!  It's nice to see others having the same problem as me!  For a while I thought I was alone on this till I found this forum!
Hi guys, total newb here to driverpacks and slipstreamed windows installs...  So bare with me...  My friend gave me a slipstreamed disc he made, it's entitled the "eXPirence" edition... It has the driverpacks from here in it.

I have a 3112r raid control controlling two identical SATA discs running in RAID1 Mirrored.  The raid controller is an offboard PCI card.  I actually have two different cards with the same 3112r chipset... I've had the same issue with both of them.  Using this DVD to install windows on this array causes two issues which match identically with the problems mentioned here...

1.  When windows brings up my drive list, I see both of my drives as separate partitions, instead of just one - like it's recognizing the array discs uniquely instead of as one mirrored array.
2.  When windows is done copying files to the drive and performs it's first reboot, I get the 0x7B BSOD.

Doing F6 with this distrib on initial setup, seems to be ignored.  It still uses the driver on the DVD instead.  I  can use my floppy with the latest (I think it's .56) driver using other windows distribs and it works ok.

Here are my hardware ID's. I created a temporary install of windows to run the hardware ID tool hoping maybe it will help others out...

What I'm curious on mainly, is what do I have to do with this install, in order to replace the drivers on the CD, with either a newer driverpack, OR  - the ones I got from SiL aka my F6 floppy? I've seen reference to replacing the sil3112r.sy_ file with the .sys file I have from my floppy and reburning the DVD... is it that simple ?  Do I simply just delete the existing .sy_ file, and then copy in the .sys file to replace it off my floppy?  Does it need to be a cab compresed, or renamed as .sy_, or anything like that?  AS I mentioned this is all a little over my head...  Am I better off just getting a newer driverpack and if so... how do I add it to this distrib I already have?

Thanks in advance everyone!

Its the "3ware78k" driver...... or the "3waregsm" will do final test  today....

Time to test this on more machines....Bashrat?? big_smile

Maybe it caused more problems ,Jmicron , Nforce ...??

note, the royal also has a Jmicron chip.. did that no have issues of its own? I sorta forgot.

The answer was 42?
