Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

I'm still looking for a solution to this.  I tried the latest RC's yesterday:

DP_Graphics_A_wnt5_x86-32_910rc1.7z
DP_Graphics_B_wnt5_x86-32_910rc1.7z
DP_Graphics_C_wnt5_x86-32_910rc1.7z

Same results as with 9.06.  I have not tried installing the 804 CCC with the 910 driver.  I guess I can try that if there aren't other recommendations.

Thanks

Try a bare integration using RVMI with only:
User_Hidden's QFE updatepack. Discussion: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7184
RogueSpears vc2k5 & vc2k8 addon. Discussion: http://www.doitrightconsulting.net/foru … &t=132
Yumeyao's .NET installer. Discussion: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7696

No tweaks!

I use all of these with great effect and both addons can be installed at svcpack using "-ai1" switch.

Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

I just did a test install and now I'm seeing this same problem.
ATICCC is installed, but won't work.
This is NOT cool!

*Edit,
Well, now ATICCC IS working.  I think something's screwy with my .NET and M$ runtimes installers because WPIW doesn't work either (fails with Visual C++ error).

Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

If you think that specific combination will solve it, I'll give it a try.  However, I already did try something very safe and minimal as noted in post #11 of this thread, and I did determine in post #24 that the 8.04 Graphics Packs works perfectly in that configuration, leading me to believe that it is an issue with the driverpack changes between 8.04 and versions since then (I've tested almost every version since then without success), and not with my minimal OS install set.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to try it if you think it might work, I just wanted to remind you what I've already tried.  I know you're busy fixing everyone's problems, not just mine.  big_smile  And I do appreciate you giving some time to me! wink

Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

I finally tried what I was planning, and with a 910rc1 install, I uninstalled CCC, and then installed CCC from 804 and it worked.  tongue  I've been meaning to try it for a while and now I feel more the dummy for not having done so sooner.

So I'm fine with considering this to be my solution and moving on with life.

I also really appreciate the help I've received, and I'm more then happy to continue debugging if there is interest.  Just let me know what you'd like me to test.  I'd still welcome getting to the bottom of this issue and potentially help others avoid this problem.

Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

it is probably possable to add teh old installer too and set an exception to run that instaed of teh newer one when needed...

I am sure mr_smartepants is almost done as i write this LOL. wink

Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

I'm still trying to figure out what's breaking my XP install.  I'm certain it's an addon that changes either .NET, VC++ or an IE8 file.  Once I get that, I'll work some more on this CCC problem.
In my testing though, CCC is installed but has no icon in the taskbar.  Restarting the CCC runtime fixes it.  But the user should not have to resort to that, it should be automatic.

Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

What do you mean "Restarting the CCC runtime fixes it"?

With the latest driverpacks, I don't get the system tray icon, CCC is installed, and running CCC spins the hourglass but nothing happens.  If I'm not mistaken, rebooting doesn't fix this.  But uninstalling the current version, and installing the 804 version (without restart) lets me run the 804 CCC.

Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

Go to the Start->ATI CCC folder->Restart Runtime.
I've also had success going to desktop properties, click the Advanced tab, then CCC tab, "Go to CCC".
I can't remember what those items are actually called since I'm not on my ATI box.

Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

the alternate solution might be to restart it programaticaly perhaps exceptions that call and close the CP. there would be a brief flash but NBD really

I'll give it a try since it has been a while, but I think I did that in the past without success.

Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

Thanks for your efforts.  I'll happily test rc2 when it's ready.  Since I have a solution for now, I'm not in a rush.  Hopefully my testing has been helpful.

Tried that, didn't work for me.

Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

Sorry, that must have been a fluke because it's not working for me either.
I'm convinced the problem is in the unsigned .inf registry entries.  I'll try to dig into it more over the weekend.
My test disc works perfectly on my HD3450 but not my notebook (each uses a different .inf).

*Edit
Doing more research, it looks like it might be an incompatibility between .NET, VCredist, and the CCC installer.
I'm still looking for the cause, but this appears to be a widespread problem with CCC, not just DriverPacks.

Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

OK, with my (unreleased) 9.10rc2 graphics DriverPacks, the ATI CCC is working fine for my HD3450 (Cat 9.10), and my notebook x600 and 9600 (both Cat 9.3), but not my old Radeon 7000 notebook (Cat 6.11).
I'll have to include the old CCC from the 6.11 package and see if that solves it for the really old notebook.
Once I complete my testing, I'll make the 9.11rc1 public for the final push to release.  This is the only bug holding it back.

Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

OK, I seem to have fixed the problem.  Testing went well today.  All three of my notebooks tested good.
I'll get some time to try and upload tomorrow.  I'm working on optimizing the folder paths now.
I'll be needing you to test my latest concoction! wink

I'll download now.  Will report back soon.

Can you post the location?  Is it: http://driverpacks.sytes.net/driverpacks/Nightlies/

I'm having trouble connecting to that.

Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

My problems downloading were temporary.

During the DriverPacks Finisher, the finisher paused and I got an ATI prompt telling me that I needed a restart: YES=restart, NO=later.  (I chose NO.)  Some installer switch missing?

Then I get and error "Failed to load resources from resource file" and CCC doesn't work.  :-(  I get the error on every reboot and if I try to restart the runtime.

I tested on my standard load with lots of addons, so I'll strip it down to minimum and try again to ensure it isn't one of my addons causing this.

Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

OK, which dp is loading the drivers for your card?  I added the older CCC to DriverPack Graphics C \a5 and I haven't figured out the installer switches for that one (yet).
Sounds like a .NET issue to me.  I've installed using the same dp and apart from the installer prompt, ATICCC installs fine.

*Edit,
LOL, I had already put them in there! big_smile
You can change the DriverPack Graphics C DPsFnshr.ini for the A5 section from:
exc_2_command1  = "%DPSROOT%\D\G\A5\CC\setup.exe /S /v/qb"
to
exc_2_command1  = "%DPSROOT%\D\G\A5\CC\setup.exe /S /v/qn"

Re: [SLVD] ATI Control Panel ATICCC.ins not installing

Reporting back, I didn't do the test I planned, but did what was simpler...I swapped the 804 graphics packs onto my CD and tried again...perfect.  So unless the new 911rc CCC has some different dependency/conflict than the 804 version then it's not my addons.

I'll still try the 911rc with a minimum update pack, but this test doesn't have me optimistic.
