To everyone with nforce:

There are currently indications that nforce problems have been solved in the latest DP base + DP masstorage final.
A specific driver of which we found out it conflicted with the silicon drivers was removed in the latest DP masstorage. It could very well have been that this driver conflicted with nforce aswell.

Can everbody please test this, and report the results back in this topic?

@maxximum
We did not change anything about the nforce drivers in the new dp masstorage.
We did however remove a driver of which we found out it conflicted with the sil drivers. Maybe this driver conficted with nforce aswell.

I would like to know if the new dp masstorage solved your nforce problems.
Can you tell us what version of the dp masstorage you were using before?

@Coccinelle

Yes, bashrat is correct, regrettably a silicon driver from a specific version will only function properly in combination with a specific version of the controller-BIOS.

Since most people will probably not update their controller's BIOS frequently, it will most likely be necessary to first update the controller's BIOS prior to using the driverpack masstorage on systems with silicon controllers.
Maybe we should make a FAQ for that.

Currently the latest driver for sil3112r (1.0.56.1) is included in the masstorage driverpack. The matching biosversion for add-in cards (not integrated silicon controllers) is 4.3.79.

After BIOS upgrade, could you please post your results in this topic?

Regrettably during the SIL SATA bios test to test SATA bios version compatibilty with the different versions of the SIL drivers one of our mobos died.
Fortunally we can solve the problem by sending the broken motherboard to a service which is capable of replacing the crashed flashrom chip.

The costs for this, will be 25 euro's.
A donation for this would be really appreciated.
If we would all pitch in we can save this mobo and use it for future testing again.

I would love to test this!  Can you shoot me a link for the files I need, and tell me how to update the XP distrib I have with it?  I have a 3112r as noted.

@protonus,

The sil problems should be fixed now with the new publicly available driverpack base + driverpack masstorage.
Could you please test and post your results in this topic?

The reason that the Control panel is not installed and that the finisher crashes is because of a typo in the DPsFnshr.ini.

The typo can be found on line 211.
The line should be changed from the following:

command10 = "del /q %DPSROOT%\D\S\CR\1\common\*.??_"s

To:

command10 = "del /q %DPSROOT%\D\S\CR\1\common\*.??_"

That should do the trick, i have tested this myself.

@Siginet
Save yourself the trouble, it will freeze. This problem is already solved as i have posted in the bugtracker (http://bugtracker.driverpacks.net/view.php?id=279), it is currently being evaluated by the Main team and the Code team. Once they approve of it, it will require an update of the driverpack base.

There where some other problems with the finisher aswell. Please check all the bugs i recently reported in the bugtracker. All those problems are solved also and are also being evaluated by the Main team and the Code team.

See also this post:

The driver itself is installed though, it's just the Control Panel that isn't.

I think i have a solution for this issue. A change in the sourcecode of the DPsFnshr.exe is required though:

I have the exact same problem. The finisher hangs when it installs the CCP Ati control panel.

; =============================================================================
;
; REMARKS
;
; =============================================================================
; -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
; About adding your own exceptions
; -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
;
; - The following system variables are supported:
;  * %SystemDrive%
;  * %SystemRoot%
;  * %WinDir%
;  * %ProgramFiles%
;  * %DPSROOT% (equals the value of [Settings]\DPsRoot)
; * %DPSTMP% (when you must extract files for example)
;
; - Available executables:
;  * addUsepmtimer.exe
;  * devcon.exe
;
; - The unique ID in the sectionnames (i.e.: [<OS platform>__<unique ID>__
; <driver dir, including the master 'D' dir>]) must NOT be sequential, it
; must just be unique. Only numbers (0-9) can be used. The reason for the
; existence of this string is that sometimes there are multiple exceptions
; for the same driver, which would result in identical section names, which
;   is not allowed.
;
; - A requirement of the type 'tagFiles' is considered forfilled if ALL of the
;   listed conditions are met.
;
; - A requirement of the types '+hwids', '-hwids', '+infFiles' and '-infFiles'
; is considered forfilled if ANY of the listed conditions is met.
;
; - The commands will ONLY be executed if ALL the active requirements are
;
; - The commands will be executed in the order they are entered.
;
;
; -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
; About the implementation of KTD
; -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
;
; - To optimize the DevicePath entry in the registry (to allow more drivers to
; be added), a new system variable will be created, which will accessible
; through the variable %KTD%. The result is that each path that is added
; (that refers to a driver), will be much shorter - and therefore this allows
; more drivers to be added.

It are probably the realtek AC'97 drivers conflicting again. Removing these drivers from the driverpack sound A should solve these problems.

You can following these steps to remove them from driverpack sound A:
1. Extract the driverpack sound A with 7zip.
2. Delete the Contents of D\S\R folder, except for the D\S\R\HD folder.
3. 7Zip the D folder with maximum compression (archivename has to be the same as the name of the driverpack sound A).
4. Do a new slipstream of the driverpacks.
5. Done!

@Bashrat,

ok, i have just sent it to your gmail account.

Ruud

It wasn't a problem with language dependency.
I found the solution for this problem and posted it right here:

@Bashrat,

Ok, i solved this problem.
First i tried the installation with the Dutch version of the KB888111 without success.
After that i had a look at SVCPACK.IN_.
I extracted the SVCPACK.IN_ and opened the resulting SVCPACK.INF.
To my suprise i noticed that the contents of SVCPACK.INF was the following:

??????????????????

Then i extracted the SVCPACK.IN_ from my my original XP folder and opened the SVCPACK.INF.
This was the original contents:

[Version]
Signature="$Windows NT$"

[SetupData]
CatalogSubDir="i386\hotfixes"

[ProductCatalogsToInstall]

[SetupHotfixesToRun]

Apparently the slipstream of the driverpacks corrupted my SVCPACK.IN_
After replacing the corrupted SVCPACK.IN_ with the one from my working US based unattended XP CD the problem was solved, no Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio" error popped up and sound was functioning.

Ruud

That's not true, you can find a 51.2 mb KB888111 hotfix package right here :

http://support.asus.com/download/downlo … ;model=W3V

If you extract it, you will see a list of folders representing different languages.
The dutch kb888111xpsp2.exe is under the folder NL.

Ruud

@Bashrat,

can you tell me with what tool you cabbed the KB888111 hotfix? I can then try to cab the Dutch version of the KB888111 and try the installation with that.

Ruud

Could the problem be that the KB888111 hotfix is english and not dutch?
