Correct, I have a old samsung monitor and the XP driver is the latest one and it works perfect for both x86 & x64 Windows 7

I wish I could get it to work with XP but never have

Most/all USB drives will share the same driver, it will not increase the size on disk it will just reinstall the same driver for a different usb port

IMO they should drop the "Genius" from the name big_smile

Edit: DriverMax depends on the users, I notice many people use modded INF's thats another reason for the higher version numbers

Here are my drivermax pages

Win7: http://www.drivermax.com/driver/drivers … er=1302977
XP: http://www.drivermax.com/driver/drivers … er=1302977

As you can tell on my XP page it tells me I need to update my chipset drivers, this is wrong, some other idiot (user) is to blame

Driver Gen sux this way...program is kinda ignorant when it comes to the actual version of the driver

Also DriverMax will show you drivers with higher version number but older date, download the drivers and look at the INF before you install to see if the one on your system is actually newer

You be your own driver updater, use these programs to suplement your drivers needs, dont rely on them 100% they have their flaws

Beware of the new Intel Chipset v9.1.2.1008 its not WHQL like it says on the station-drivers website (NehalMEX.inf and SNB2009.inf are not signed)

I wonder if turning on KTD would help you

No, there is not support for intel raid in the older masstorage driverpacks (that I know of)

Thanks markstrelecki...will see if I can throw together a vid with some tips: like mounting reg hive, making iso and other stuff

BTW my mom is currently visiting family in Louisiana, she is returning on the 13th IDK what sorta old parts you may have but if they can fit in a suitcase I think she could bring them :S

I will not be upgrading to Windows 7 unless I see 7lite or a similar tool out there.  It is so much I was able to accomplish with nLite for Windows XP, getting down to 33MB of RAM ussage on a fresh install, etc, there is no way I am about to sacrifice such a great utility in the name of bloatwarerish crap of Windows 7.

So, no 7lite, no Windows 7.

That's my policy.

RT 7Lite has been around for awhile now

IMO Windows 7 is not bloatware, I dont need tools such as 7Lite to build a bitching ISO all I need is WAIK

I could maybe add a backup, maybe use my video card HWID along with the sound card (then I can remove the video card one when/if it gets fixed)

exc_1_+hwids      = 1
exc_1_+hwid1      = "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7691"
exc_1_+hwid2      = "PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_01D7"

So you how do I make it more general?

Can I drop the SUBSYS and REV of the HWID and/or do I have to add a "*" on the end?

Thanks OverFlow

One last question: do I have to use the whole hwid?

Would like to make it work with any toshiba computer with similar hwid but different subsys

exc_1_+hwids      = 1
exc_1_+hwid1      = "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7691&SUBSYS_*"

Or do I have to do something similar to this and list them all?

exc_1_+hwids      = 1
exc_1_+hwid1      = "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7691&SUBSYS_117904F1"
exc_1_+hwid2      = "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7691&SUBSYS_117904F2"
exc_1_+hwid3      = "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7691&SUBSYS_117904F3"

Whats wrong with installing the driver overtop the other one?

I find for this driver if I run suhlp.exe it installs the driver fixing the problem

How does this ini code look, see any mistakes?

[DriverPack]
platform          = "wnt5_x86-32"

Need a little help with my personal 3rd party driverpack, only other one I use MassStorage and my personal DP to have all the drivers I need for both laptops (Toshiba and Sony) but I am having problem with one sound driver...they both have SigmaTel HD audio, when I install XP on my Sony the correct driver is installed (because this driver is the latest of both) but when I use the same driverpack with the Toshiba the Sony SigmaTel driver is intalled (because there is a hwid in the driver with no subsys that matches the toshiba)

What I would like to do is add a condition in the .ini that if the Toshiba hwid is detected to use the correct driver or to ignore the Sony one but I dont know the best way to do it

Here is my personal driverpack: http://ricktendo.com/DP_Laptop_wnt5_x86-32_1007.7z

Toshiba hwid (problem one)

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7691&SUBSYS_117904F1

Sony hwid (this one is fine left alone)

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7664&SUBSYS_104D2200

I wanted to do something similar to this but dont know if I can use exc_#_+infFile# or some other trick you guys may know

You cant find it on the Intel site but WikiDrivers has a link to it

ATK DriverVer=07/16/2009, 1043.6.0.0 is out there

If you need me to upload it, let me know

I wonder if -i (install) will work alone without -a (add), this way only the drivers being installed will get added to FileRepository

Major, use a good driver backup tool after you are sure you have all the latest up to date drivers and only integrate those

Drivers are ALWAYS stored in FileRepository, even if you just install them normally, but I see what you mean you dont want to add a GIANT driverpack with a bunch of drivers you dont need...you should just integrate only the drivers for your particular hardware thats what I do

To delete drivers post install from FileRepository its best to use pnputil.exe (included in Win7)

Microsoft PnP Utility
Usage:
------
pnputil.exe [-f | -i] [ -? | -a | -d | -e ] <INF name>
Examples:
pnputil.exe -a a:\usbcam\USBCAM.INF      -> Add package specified by USBCAM.INF
pnputil.exe -a c:\drivers\*.inf          -> Add all packages in c:\drivers\
pnputil.exe -i -a a:\usbcam\USBCAM.INF   -> Add and install driver package
pnputil.exe -e                           -> Enumerate all 3rd party packages
pnputil.exe -d oem0.inf                  -> Delete package oem0.inf
pnputil.exe -f -d oem0.inf               -> Force delete package oem0.inf
pnputil.exe -?                           -> This usage screen

First use -e to create a list then -d oem#.inf to delete the ones you dont need

You may have to use -f cmdline on some drivers if they fail to uninstall/delete

Edit: I just thought about it, you can use pnputil post install to install your drivers if you prefer

Why are you guys still using Matrix Storage Manager v5.5.0.1035 when v8.9.6.1002 is available & Intel have even changed the name and gone with Rapid Storage Technology with v9.6.3.1001 being the most recent?

Edit: actually I just found Intel RST updated to v9.6.4.1001 on Station-Drivers
