Topic: DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_10052 & Driver Genius Pro

I use Driver Genius Pro and also Drivermax to check some of my work and installs and I notice that DGP always seems to tell me that my chipsets aren't up to date... whats up with that? ...DM shows OK

There are newer versions of the Intel drivers out there, but they're beta.
I'll bet DGP is pulling their data from station drivers.  Not the best source.

I also just checked my recent D400 install with both Driver Genius and DriverMax and they both showed updates but they are also inconsistent with each other... damn that does make it confusing roll

But the they refer to the 9.1.2.1007 as being the latest rev they want to update TO yet thats what is in the Chipset pack...

The v9.1.2.1007 refers to the PACKAGE version.  The individual drivers have version #s all over the place. wink

Driver Gen sux this way...program is kinda ignorant when it comes to the actual version of the driver

Also DriverMax will show you drivers with higher version number but older date, download the drivers and look at the INF before you install to see if the one on your system is actually newer

You be your own driver updater, use these programs to suplement your drivers needs, dont rely on them 100% they have their flaws

Re: DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_10052 & Driver Genius Pro

Thanks for the reply Rick... boy those programs can lead a person down a real bad path with mis-information... by the way I have been watching your videos on WIN7 DISM... BIG THANKS smile

Re: DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_10052 & Driver Genius Pro

IMO they should drop the "Genius" from the name big_smile

Edit: DriverMax depends on the users, I notice many people use modded INF's thats another reason for the higher version numbers

Here are my drivermax pages

Win7: http://www.drivermax.com/driver/drivers … er=1302977
XP: http://www.drivermax.com/driver/drivers … er=1302977

As you can tell on my XP page it tells me I need to update my chipset drivers, this is wrong, some other idiot (user) is to blame
