I've tested with DP_BASE 6.8.6 + lastests DriverPacks : works on nForce4 ultra and nForce3 ... but BSOD on nForce2-400 (no RAID used).
I can test with nForce4-ultra + nVidia 7900GT and nForce4-6150 (video integrated).

Any more news on that nVidia subject ? (DP 6.10 is marked as BSOD-able on all nVidia chipsets sad sad )

For *.inf files in all sub-dirs :
1/ In "[Version]" look for : "DriverVer" and "CatalogFile" for WHQL certification.
2/ "[Manufacturer]" section tells what other sections "XYZ" to look into ... then section "XYZ" lists supported hardware.
3/ Export everything in a text file ... or HTML (from a template).

Get Catalyst 6.5 + Control Panel here : http://rapidshare.de/files/33821736/ATI-CP65.rar.html

Great ! smile
You can take any INF file from DriverPacks as an example.

About driver infs :
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/defau … bb.xml.asp

The good idea would be to have a tool which browses recursively a 3rd Party root dir, scans INFs files to get driver version, and peripheral name ... then outputs a text file with all info.

Get it here
Hash MD5 : D674F18F68BBD9C11A7B87A3E7F1562C

No, only point your "unknown device" in device manager to uncompressed driver & reboot.

I've reverted back to old CPU 6.08 and everyting's fine smile.
Trash DP CPU 6.09 and use 6.08 if you don't need the away driver ... otherwise make your own DP CPU with away driver (from DP 6.09) and amdk8 driver (from DP 6.08).

I've just installed a fresh XP with hand made SVCPACK.INF (compressed as SVCPACK.IN_), and it WORKS !! smile smile
Sound card is detected and driver installer, and all works fine thanks !! smile smile

If I edit myself SVCPACK.INF, it is ok like this ? :

[Version]
Signature="$Windows NT$"
MajorVersion=5
MinorVersion=1
BuildNumber=2600

[SetupData]
CatalogSubDir="\i386\SVCPACK"

[ProductCatalogsToInstall]
KB888111.CAT
KB921401.CAT

[SetupHotfixesToRun]

KBs KB888111 & KB921401 are the ones slipstreamed by DP BASE 6.08.6 ... I do not add any other ones.

SVCPACK.INF was compressed. Once expanded, it's really weird :

???????????????????????????

when you run RVM integrator, get to advanced, and tick unicode to ansi ON after this, DPsBase is run, and during setup you should not not have a problem with 888111 (FAIK, when I eyeball the DPsBase process it replaces that particular hotfix.)

I'm NOT using RyanVM updatepack on my French XP. There's a french RyanVM pack but is more or less maintained, so I update myself KBs.

But I've got some good news about this issue... the conversion utility is ready and it'll be included in the 6.09 version of the DriverPacks BASE, on which I've been working very hard the past week... now only some bugs left to squash, all new functionality is working.

It's OK when using RyanVM ... but I'm not alone with this HD audio not installed when not using RyanVM (see the other post about this).
@Bâshrat the Sneaky : maybe you can move this topic to Sound forum.

Same thing for me : french XP without RyanVM updates, only DriverPacks.

I have the same problem on Asus A8N-VM CSM (look at the end of this post !)

I think yes. Quite a good idea.

Finally upload successfull smile smile

Still error, but this time I could go as far as 99% (91 Mb) smile

@Bâshrat the Sneaky : i've tried again to upload DP_PrintersCanonInkjet_wnt5_x86-32_609.7z.

OK. So :
Canon - Inkjet
Canon - Laserjet
Epson - Inkjet
Epson - Laserjet
HP - Inkjet
HP - Laserjet
Others - Inkjet
Others - Laserjet
...
(that's what I initially wanted to do smile wink )

I've just tested : yes, WHQL is lost.

So, back to the inital question : how to split DP Printer ?
- by brand (bing ones first) ? Canon / HP / Epson / Others
- by type ? Bubblejet / Laserjet / others ?

What I noticed in the previous printer packs was that all of the setup.exe's and such were still with the pack.
The only files that are required will be listed under the "[SourceDisksFiles]" heading inside the driver inf file. Also the .CAT file needs to be kept for WHQL reasons, but us usually not listed under the above section.

... I took a quick glance at just one of the models, and the un-needed files took up ~1-3Mb per! So, Def. there is some slimming that needs to be done.

I have already deleted *.txt, setup.exe and so on ...
Section "[SourceDisksFiles]" in Canon drivers lists many files, including multilangual files ... so reducing driver size can be done ... Do I loose WHQL if I edit inf file and remove all file reference to non-english files ?

HP does have a sort of AiO driver pack on their site already.
Unfortunately, it includes only PS5 printers (LaserJet), but not my model sad
Can't seem to find the link ATM though...
