Let us not forget Dairy Queen, Home Depot, and Target ran POS2009 or similar (if i remember correctly).

Even MS advises not using XP-Mode in 7 (disallow access to internet).

I get the sense that tweaking one's system to receive POS2009 updates might have some undesireable side-effects.

What do you, the reader, think?     hmm

Using the old tried and true packs should be the safest way to integrate something with the best chance of working the first time.

However; if you find that it still doesn't fulfil your needs, here are some areas of potential research.

Other than a regulat ATAPI install, DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1405176 only supports textmode Intel up to about Intel xESB/ICH7-R(M)DH/EP80579 (Matrix 7.8) & AMD up to about SB6xx (ATAPI, RAID & other controllers too & of course the max amt permitted for UR1 support were included*)

BlackWingCat covers unofficial drivers and additional 2k Updates like none other i know of.  That includes unofficial support for newer Intel/AMD/nV AHCI/RAID/graphics/processors/(et al).

http://blog.livedoor.jp/blackwingcat/ & also:  http://w2k.flxsrv.org/

* (i had been using a UR1-integrated source for testing, and when i regressed to a virgin SP4 disc for source, ntfs.sys errors were noted.  Did integrating UR1 (or one of other off. KB's) alter textmode memory limit?)

Are you using the latest DPs_BASE version, BTW?

Well, by the time we get there, it would more likely be DP_Misc_Removable_wnt5_x86-32, DP_Chipset_Utils_wnt5_x86-32, DP_Misc_Removable-Utils_wnt5_x86-32 & DP_Misc-Utils_wnt5_x86-32 methinks.
Misc_Removable to include USB, PCMCIA, 1394 (et al?) removable devices (not PCI or PCIe).
Would a DP_cIR-IrDA be too "over-the-top"?

Progressing towards this style of layout for the packs probably causes complications for admin above me here though.  I like the idea of breaking things down to (hopefully) exand capabilities and choice.

Have you tried an integration with a 2k source (UR1 might need slipstreaming) and the latest MassStorage Nightly?  http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 591#p57591
There is a whole series of updates to these venerated DriverPacks under the [Nightlies] subject, although support for devices might be spotty.  Updating existing systems seems risky without verified backup (of course).
If there is anything missing or misbehaving, let me know before the [Nightlies] become RC's and i'll do what i have time for to assist you in identifying problems, finding and implimenting solutions.  Other members here might help too.
2k is NT5 too.  Let's put them all to bed, so we can focus on NT6.

Update MassStorage immediately post-Setup via SAD3, is one possibility.
I do my testing with clean untouched source discs (exc. for unattend file & some basic KB slipstreaming like Windows Installer upd or UR1 for 2k) so am not familiar if BASE can update a pre-integrated (via DPs_BASE- version???) source.
It would seem he is avoiding answering where the install disc came from though.  sad
-------------------
Getting back on topic; I see that Finisher uses devcon, and SAD3 uses Finisher in addition to dpinst.
Would SAD3 benefit from an updated devcon file?

2k compatibility doesn't appear an issue for devcon.
2k has never worked for me using either SAD3.  I always received an error related to the user account on 2k.
In addition, the links for the older revisions of SAD2 appear broken.
For 2k driver updates via the [Nightlies], i assume a SAD disc must be created via DPs_BASE for those packs not integrated with the 2k install disc used originally on the system at focus.

I have other question concerning SAD3 (NT5 & NT6).
Is it best to avoid using SAD3 for DP_MassStorage on a non-new installation, until a system backup is created and verified?  Additional controllers could be added manually with less risk, if i have that correct.

Has anybody tried an integration of a SP4RC source with DPs_BASE & the latest NT5 MassStorage Nightly (1405176)?

I expect to find legacy HP small-form-factor desktops with blown capacitors, on either the mobo or in the P/S or both.

I note this effect too for some hardware combinations.
Didn't think it was an "issue" though, more of a minor "annoyance".

Details would be very helpful, as both OverFlow & mr_smartepants have dutifully noted.

However; once the new device has it's driver installed, then device removed, then plugged into another port, it should simply auto-install the driver.

Note that i only use DPs_BASE to integrate the main driver packs, including MassStorage on a clean and (mostly) untouched xp source before testing.
Since this works for me, it should also be possible for you to repeat such success.

Hallo.   Aangename kennis!  Hoe gaan dit?  (from:  http://wikitravel.org/en/Afrikaans_phrasebook)

Please do translate, and we will include.

Dankie.     smile

Have added some braille reader drivers into Chipset that exacerbate the bloat.

Looking to make a DP_Misc_Removable_wnt5_x86-32 & DP_Chipset_Utils_wnt5_x86-32 and similar to clean up the packs and ease removable device installation.  Hotkey drivers prolly need go into DP_HID.  A CIR/IrDA pack could also be spun off of Misc.

Chipset appears to be for drivers classed as "System" or "Processor", or for USB Controllers.
All those Removable USB devices in Chipset should go into a Misc_Removable pack, if i have that right.

Does this align with needs for BartPE/UBCD4Win?
Would it be better to release what we have first before making changes that require changes to the main site?

There is a HW detection bug that affects DP_Bluetooth_MS-Misc_wnt5_x86-32_1408061.7z

Will upload the fix when humanely possible.

Hello!

[OT] Noting that the MassStorage DP you mentioned earlier is from 2013.
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 591#p57591
Does DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1405176.7z not work for you symbios24?

Also, DP_CPU is included in DP_Chipset and is therefore outdated and unnecessary.

Find all latest [Nightlies] via the following Search:  http://forum.driverpacks.net/search.php … =381370028  [/OT]

I advise only integrating the essentials, then utilizing SAD3 for a post-Setup install for the remainder.
This avoids potential problems with path-length.

From the list you posted earlier,

Avoid DP_Bluetooth_MS-Misc_wnt5_x86-32_1408061.7z for now.
I found a detection bug in DP_Fnshr that hangs on MS' XP-included bth.inf (solved - yet to upload though)

DP_Misc_wnt5_x86-32_1308272.7z goes hand-in-hand with Chipset, MS, etc.

The following are likely best installed post-Setup by SAD3:

DP_Biometric_wnt5_x86-32_1403281
DP_Displays_wnt5_x86-32_1109081
DP_Graphics_USB_wnt5_x86-32_1409231
DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_1209b1
DP_Phone-Mobile_wnt5_x86-32_1409121
DP_SmartCard_wnt5_x86-32_1403281
DP_Sound_USB-FireWire_wnt5_x86-32_1406021
DP_TVcard_wnt5_x86-32_1410071
DP_WebCam_wnt5_x86-32_1410041
DP_wHCI_wnt5_x86-32_1303b1

The following should be installed post-Setup with SAD3 after DP_Bluetooth_MS-Misc_wnt5_x86-32_1408131:
   (see:  http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=10848)

DP_Bluetooth_Atheros-Qualcomm_wnt5_x86-32_1408141
DP_Bluetooth_Broadcom-Widcomm_wnt5_x86-32_1408141
DP_Bluetooth_IVT_wnt5_x86-32_1409231
DP_Bluetooth_Motorola-Intel_wnt5_x86-32_1408132
DP_Bluetooth_Toshiba_wnt5_x86-32_1409231

Uploading is horrendously slow here.
It reminds me of my Grandmother's analogy for giving birth.  That is squeezing something the size of a watermelon through an opening the size of a tennis ball.  (ouch!)

Updated nVidia driver from v340.52 release (non-WHQL)
Ignore the list of devices supported on the web site.  This supports most devices from the old 8000-series (one new 8xxx series HWID!!!) up to and including HWID's for the newest 800(M)-series, including Quadra, etc.  Check included ListDevices.txt.  Extra files from older 2014 releases, such as nvcuvenc32.dll and nViewProfiles_fromMarch.7z are included in /D/G/N/1/xtras_DP/ for experimental purposes only and are not automatically installed.

Buna ziua si bun venit la acest forum ultravy!   Hello and welcome to the forum ultravy   smile

Ahem.  Was working on a basic set of NT6 packs, but stalled out when hot weather started.  Starting back where i left off.  Please don't release me.    hmm

Looking for wildfire smoke forecast maps for USA, if you can point the way please.
Europe &/or Asia would be cool too if anybody can help.

North+Western Canada & Eastern Washington State seem to have been busy this year.
The hardest hit seems to have been Yellowknife & the Great Slave Lake area.

Added link for smartversion3 here and for your Gaming x64 pack.

Very impressive!   smile

What revision of driver was that?  Am not able to search MSUC with linux here.
Do all files have same hash values as that from DP_Graphics_C_wnt5_x86-32_1403071.7z?

Mr. Sofer is a very prolific and amazing author, in my humble opinion!
