I believe I still have the system, so I will try to grab the HWID's for you tomorrow.

Ok, thanks smile

This driver doesn't seem to be in the latest driver pack.

Thanks,

I just ran a install with the latest sound packs, and this device came up with a Code 28 and was not installed.
wondering if the driver could be added to one of the future versions of the sound packs.

Thanks,
Dave

oops, typo on my part... it is the OemPreinstall = "Yes" that disables the F6 option.

I already AM handling this. I'm using 2 drivers, also for textmode setup!

Please post your HWID so I can find out if I have assigned a HWID to the wrong driver.

Thanks, I'll edit this post tonight when I get to that specific machine again. It turned out that I had to make a new unattended XPCD without any driver pack integration in order to get F6 disk install to work properly. Disabling the masstorage integration for whatever reason still would not allow for the floppy to copy files at the "copying windows files" stage, even though the floppy was read during F6. sad

The motherboard was the Asus P4C800-E Deluxe.

Your F6 copy files issue is caused by having the "UnattendedSwitch=Yes" in your Winnt.sif file I believe...
I haven't found a way to make F6 work with an unattended disk succesfully yet.

YAY!!! An Extra 13MB!!!
I can Def. use that extra space! Thanks!!!

"Could not extract necessary files for method 2"
I get the same exact error with the new 6.08.4 BASE...

I have found that replacing the bin\7z.exe file with the old one from 6.08.3 BASE solves the issue.

Possible a corrupt 7z.exe file got packed with the new BASE??
(Nope, I just extracted the 7z.exe file from a fresh download of the 7zip installer file... with the same results)
... Incompatible???

not ATM, but I can set one up smile

lol, I knew that... hehe
anyways, back on topic, I had another system do this today. It was an ATI video on a Dell system. It sat at the Finisher window not responding for ~10min. after it finally booted, I noticed that the finisher exicutable file was still on the C: drive and was not deleted. Unfortunatly, I didn't get enough time to gather the report file before the system got picked up...

Wow, I'd love to see how a driver update list would be automated.... sounds intreaging.

Objection!  yikes

I was joking... Hence the "JK" in my post tongue

Lets just not suppot ATI anymore..... wink
JK, i'm not a huge fan on ATI personally... but I have to support it for my customers... o well tongue

hm.... well... it stalls on the finisher screen "not responding"... for about 10min... then will finally boot....

I dont know if this has be solved in the upcoming 6.08.4 but here is the log from another system that I reproduced this on:

thank smile

I got a code10 for the sound driver on this system
HP ze2000
here is the OEM sound driver from HP:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp30001-30500/sp30399.exe

...this one is from March, but Windows Update has one from April i believe...

~Dave

I submitted the details here:

~Dave

I too have seen this happen with the Finisher, however I dont have the logs available at this time.

Also, I've noticed that the finisher exe file is left on the hard drive.

... lol, not able to do it on that new Mac? wink JK, you do a great job!
I extracted the files, re-compressed them to a RAR file & sent them to your gmail wink

...and to unpack it I use "Universal Extractor" with the "Wise Installer /x switch" option. (I don't know if it is available for non-Windows systems though).

I've threw away a lot of CDs trying to get this to work, and really can't afford to waste any more.. not your (Bâshrat the Sneaky's) fault, just that I've wasted about 20 CDs, and 30 DVDs this month trying a lot of things out.. >.<

I know it sounds rather obvious but did you ever consider using a RW disk for these purposes?
I don't know of a single CD/DVD burner that does not support writing to RW media.

So far, I have only burnt maybe two CD-Rs with a UWXPCD, however I have created countless CD-RWs (on the same disk, btw!), which all work very fine.
I have yet to notice a difference to using an R medium instead of an RW (maybe read times are a little bit faster but not as much as to influence installation times noticeable).

...maybe i'm just a n00b or something... but I use MS Virtual PC to test my installs from an ISO BEFORE burning to a CD/DVD... maybe you should consider the same so save some $$, unless you really DO like those nifty coasters wink

one thing that i get is that Seagate File System checker says that my file system have errors and i should run scandisk w/ /f , but after doing that, it still reports that my file system have errors

Don't you love when Microsoft has/knows about typos and doesn't correct them?! I know I do...
instead of "Scandisk /F" the command that it actually means is "CHKDSK /R" ( /F switch doesn't exist wink )

As stated on the provided Link....

This tutorial only applies to the DriverPacks BASE up till version 5.03.4 (i.e. the latest ‘batch files version’). The newer DriverPacks BASE (starting from version 6.05) will get its tutorial soon. For now you can use it as-is, I guess for most users the basics are very easy to use in the new GUI.

Edit:
DOH! ... couple minutes too late tongue

I could be mistaken, but i am fairly positive that the Driver Packs dont contain VMware drivers (I use VirtualPC).
However, I do believe there to be a 3rd Party VMware addon.... I've seen it before, but I dont remember where.
