links updated with newer mass storage 7056TEST

I know that the way you did it also works (some guys do that to update ISO files)
for your information; mass 7054 had error (txtsetup sif had errors because of carriage returns in Intel sections in the INI..)

we had test version links posted here, and not all mass storage updates work.
I am deleting links.

gimme ten more minutes, and a still newer version will be up

thanks
carriage returns in the string, yes that would be a problem.
(wordwrap can hide these...)

re-uploaded testing version for mass storage, and changed name to 7055test

I hope these two 7054 testpacks work for you guys.

driver in [S-5] and [S-5-A] had a bunch of identical HWIDs for ATI.
the new ATI file (INF and CAT was a newer version) I got was put in [S-5-A], and has a whole lot more HWIDs for ATI, and I made that one NOT load the silicon-image HWIDs during textmode.
I also made the [S-5] Not load identical ATI during textmode.

PnP has more distinction capabilities, and should load the driver that got a match during txtmode.

If I find other drivers with dupe HWIDs, I'll do more work on that. There are fewer Sil-Image problems than there once were, and I can be stubborn.

I think we cannot say NO to donations. smile

fair enough.

Can you describe the error, please?

(it looks like M1 has some hardcoded folder locations in the module, and you can compare the location of the file that cannot be cabbed or copied with the folder content of the un7zipped pack.. This copy error is what I encountered.)

if you found chipset test 7053 PLEASE ditch chips 7053 (scrub it)
Method 1 cannot work with it

new TEST version of mass and chips
Mass storage 7054test has corrections for ATI-Sil 3112R and SiL 3112R (and new intel drivers as well)

and chips 7054test again has the folder structure M1 expects it to have (with updated drivers)

EDIT; 756TEST has even more corrections for ATI-Sil 3112R and SiL 3112R

EDIT 2; link to mass storage test removed because it got updated and updated again, and again.

I bet muiz and Bâshrat the Sneaky can teach us how to do it properly.

They use a tool to unpack the cabbed files.
sorry, have to run, be back later .

yes, close it.
Jmicron fix and highpoint fix got into version 705

Hi

I tried method 1 today, and also had a problem.
(not same as yours... but still, a critical one)

Method 2 is the faster method of the two, so M1 is tested less often.
For now, I suggest you build a disc using method 2, while we try fix these errors.

Gowtham?
Can you do us a favour?
Can you test this one?
I have worked on mass storage, for this silicon Image issue (an older sil 3112r clashed with ATI sil3112r) and some other things for Intel.

you are the perfect person to test this, I really think this one ought to fix the problems we had.

we had a test version here, and not all mass storage updates work.
I am deleting links.

See, if this one works, then it will work on more machines that that one specially made for you.
(and it was made because of your issue, anyway)

You can keep the DISC that worked in a safe spot (fallback), and make a new one with this pack.
I can understand if you don't want to format again, tho.

(this post said 7054test, it is updated to 7055test)

http://users. link removed

chipsets TEST version was renamed (to make it clear that this was a test version), and renaming it made it go awol. (sorry)

Ok, glad I could help
(a gotham city special was mailed, with a very SLIM pack...)

So, now we have to figure out which of the other drivers conflicts with [S-5-A]

I am downloading a 171Mb driverdisk for the 9171 mobo (model RS482M4)

this will hopefully help us find out which driver conflicts here.

Mr GorTham got helped by using only Sil Image [S-5-A] (with a modification to get his specific HWID in it) and an unmodified [S-4]
iow, he got succes with a very tiny pack. (only two drivers)

I could do such for you too, but that would not be the best solution for rollouts.
The download should have the specific HWIDS in the drivers they supply, and I hope to help you that way.

I must point  out that Mr Gortham tried with a full mass storage (which had the modification in S-5-A for 3112R ) and still had a conflict.
This means we have another queste on our hands. (AAARGH, which one is messing with the ATI variant of Sil-Image 3112 or 3112r ?? )

hi
when I updated the LAN pack, I left IntelAMT IN the pack.
(the updated driver did not have this any longer, but I left it in.)

I need to clear the folder where I looked at all these driver requests, and re-download some (I may have to add a file with the topic link to keep track)
anyway, I'll look again, but if it requires an exception to run it, I'll need some help.

yes, it should be moved to mass storage forum.

Hi Major,

I got the file Erik linked to for his Agere.
Now, If you can link to the driver you need to have added in this pack, then I (or twig123, or Erik, or even you) can do the change and upload it for testing.

I thought this was going to be handled by a member.
3rd party packs development seems to work that way.
Since there is no changelog/supported device list on the main site, you do not need a main team member to publish updated 3rd packs.

Well, we added the other proliant for 2003, and it got into the released version, so why not add this one as well?

I will.

Hi
here is a quick answer as to the changes in chipsets and mass storage.

In chips we added an updated driver for intel.
In Mass Storage a Gigabyte driver for Jmicron chip (Jraid.sys) with ahci and Raid support was added, and a new Intel matrix driver was added (this one needs some more review and tests.).
There will be a proper changelog and some details available today, so my peers can look into the changes.

I agree with Muiz3.  I hope you can spare some time, because we can use people who know how to make things work.

they are back.

I saw that it was downloaded, but do not know if that were you.
Please let me know wether you got it, and also let us know if it worked or not ..

Hi
the specific revision was nowhere to be found, and there is more than one instance of a more generic match for this HWID.

I'd STILL like to find the original driver for this motherboard's storage controller, but have made a small change to our mass storage pack so that the file that had the best match, should now do a full match.
