Yes, if they search! wink

That is wholly unacceptable as I have deployed dozens of ICH7R-based desktops using intel's SATA F6 mode drivers in AHCI mode without any problem until these last few releases. Poo poo on intel!

Did you already contact them in order to make them aware of the problem?

Just wondering.

Obviously, this is an unaccpetable solution but if they don't know they can't fix it smile

Well, it did, even in this very post.

Now it's gone as you can see so apparently it was merely a temporary hickup.

I appear twice in the Users Online list and when posting, all my posts appear twice, too, although I definately only clicked once.

I have seen this also happens to you, Bâshrat the Sneaky (assuming you also did not click twice).

Is this just temporary or did something break? wink

Yeah, I seem to remember I did not get sound until I installed the VMWare tools even though I have included the 3rdP DP VMWare.

Been using Virtual PC 2004 since, appears to be working better overall and hasn't given me an issue since (I merely use it to test installations so I do not rely on the USB support of VMWare).

hello helmi have you msn or something like this to talk in german a bit faster ?

Nope, sorry.

Besides, I've shared all information I have about this with you already.
There's really nothing else I could tell you.

Yes, it's needed.

mikelm wrote:

Helmi i see you are from germany

Correct observation!

i´m too, so we can talk in german?

Forum rules (basically Bâsh's wish) say only English as that's what basically everyone can read.
Therefore, no German talk...

did you use also xp home ?

Nope, Pro here.
Though I will be using Home in a week or two on my cousin's PC.

i have still the problem with this desktop.ini , also with 6.10

I never found out what it was due to.
It certainly wasn't caused by anything on my side, as it happened when I created a CD with everything the same as on the previous one, just a newer BASE version.

Bâshrat the Sneaky wrote:

And I don't have the slightest idea what that desktop.ini issue is, but one of the testers reported this too during the 6.09 testing phase. But that was only him. I don't have the slightest clue what could cause this.

Actually, we were two! smile

Anyway, it does not happen for me anymore, it seems.
(jtdoom is still getting it, I guess...)
Same settings basically (just updated nLite and BASE).
Random quirk at best...

Since Bâsh hates to see us talking in anything but English I will be so kind to continue this way...

Anyway, the overburn did not work, or my drive didn't like it (I ususally use the notebook to burn which does support it), at least the CD was toast (or had been had I not used an RW wink).

I will adapt to DVDs soon enough (I am capable of burning and also have the media stocked!), but not until all CD drives have been replaced wink
Anyway, I am planning to create an Application DVD for unattended install, I'm just not too sure whether WPI will do what I want (need to check out first).
If I can manage to fit Win+Apps on a single DVD, I will use that, else it's going to be Win on CD and Apps on DVD (most likely, seeing as it should be quite some stuff...)

One funny thing is the integrated Burning support, i think.

Although it's very usefull (don't have to start nero and don't have to make an image), i can remember how everybody made jokes about a burning integration ("integrated burning? then we need an irc-client and a fridge integrated, too!").

Heh, yeah smile

I'm still using Nero, though, since using that short leadout setting I am able to squeeze an additional 15MB on the CD which nLite is unable to achive.
Also, it does not support overburning (generally not needed but you never know...), so it's really just for those folks that want a quick burn instead an ISO file.
For me, it's rather useless since it does not offer enough "pro" settings.

I'd rather see ISO creation in the BASE, though big_smile

Ok, The Input Pack indeed contained both the LogiTech drivers.

Hence, I updated that pack with SetPoint 3.1 and removed the redundant LogiTech pack.

@Helmi: the Finisher works just fine in the latest rc, so why would we need to enable debug mode? If problems occur, only then I ask to enable debug mode.

Rgr.
I just thought should problems arise I won't have to create another ISO to get the debugging info.
And if they don't it certainly does not hurt either, or does it?
(asking because I included the newer files in the CD I created last night - have yet to test it though).

Done! Sry, I wasn't aware of this driverpack so I didn't repack it.

Hm, that is strange, because I had it on my HDD and it was properly named and had the right folder structure...
And this is the first time I touched it, simply because I saw the release of the new driver on a news site.
I don't have Logitech devices myself so I never bothered with it before wink

Also, I had all the driverpacks DIR's in uppercase... no biggie, but just for unity I think the DIR's should be in all uppercase.

RGR.
Personally, I'm using all lowercaps myself, but that's fine by me.
I guess I only wrote it "Lo" instead of "LO" because the "o" is noseperate syllable.
If we were to use LogiTech (LT), then the T would be uppercase wink
Whatever, not that it's important, just trying to explain how I do this stuff big_smile

Us2002 wrote:

Maybe somebody update DriverPack Input (aka HID): 6.08.31 with the Softpoint 3.1 drivers, because it contains Softpoint 2.6 in DIR"s  LS & LM (MouseWare)?

Then it contains the same stuff as the Logitech pack...
I'll look into that.

Infam0us, please check out the following thread:
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=578

This is not a software that is being installed on an existing Windows but rather integrated (slipstreamed) into your XP installation CD so when you install XP the next time, all device drivers are already set.

Bâshrat the Sneaky wrote:

Overwrite the file bin\DpsFnshr.7z with this one, enable debug mode as described earlier and then post the DPsFnshr.log here. Thanks!

Is that version newer than that of RC2 and if so is it recommended using it for beta testing as it will give a more comprehensive feedback?

RogueSpear wrote:

I would think the problem in this case is the KTD = "no".  Wouldn't that mean "do not perform KTD" ?

Correct.

RogueSpear wrote:

@Bâshrat the Sneaky, if you select to keep ALL DriverPacks is that how the entry should appear?  Or would it say KTD = "All" ?

I'm not him but since I asked basically the same question before...

Yes, that is also correct.
Basically, what we call "ALL" is still applied on the Paths level, namely the whole D\ path.
All simply means all paths wink

hi im new here(obviously) and im glad that i've found this place but im having trouble finding out what type of motherboard I have....

can anyone help? so i start updating

What would your MoBo have to do with your SC?
On-board or what?

Basically, you don't need to know what HW you have since this involves no manual input.
Only when drivers are not getting installed (little yellow exclamation marks in the device manager) you will need to obtain your HWIDs as well as find out the actual product to help Bâshrat the Sneaky get it to work smile
