The website quoted in my previous post should provide you with updates for TI's USB3 series in the future. Like ChipZilla, DAMMIT, or GreenGoblin I will not 'pester' you with it further.
Any luck adding the IEEE1394B (Firewire 800) drivers from the top of this topic? I see that the 'extras' in that post are most likely not suited to 'DP_Chipset'.
If interested, perhaps allow me to find an update, if you like. There may be support for the newer Firewire 1600 or 3200 available.

Re: [REQ] WLAN - Atheros USB Wireless Network drivers updated (10 replies, posted in DriverPack WLAN)
Thank you for expressing an interest in these drivers, however; I do not fully understand your request. Can you provide some details concerning this hardware & windows drivers available? What is it & how is it relevant to Qualcomm/Atheros USB WiFi Adapters? Are there 'bugs' in the implementation that i should be aware of?
Bear in mind that i'm not a "reverse-engineer", nor do i write drivers, that is Qualcomm/Atheros' bailiwick. I wouldn't dream of 'hacking' such drivers, as decompiling may violate their (or this forum's) Terms of Use, or even FCC/CRTC regulations (especially if modifications had unintended side-effects, including yet not limited to electromagnetic interference, 'magic smoke', etc). Trade embargos need to be respected as well. However; if some Advanced options could be added (to the Inf file only) without violating these principals, I am willing to entertain the thought (as long as the latest Sys file actually supports them & you are willing to be the 'Guinea Pig'). Speaking of Guinea Pigs, would you happen to have an Xbox WiFi adaptor kicking around? http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 621#p46621
For stability & security reasons, the Sys files need to remain unmodified, as well as to preserve WHQL status. We (it's akward saying 'we' as i'm not even qualified to call myself a troll compared to OverFlow or mr_smartepants, et al) make it a deliberate point to maintain the drivers in these packs in an unmodified form, and to require that they originate directly from either a chip-maker, OEM, or VAR. Studies have shown that this has prevented premature male-pattern baldness in IT departments world-wide (in other words, preventing IT guys from pulling their hair out because someone accidentally uploaded a viral driver or included a Certificate that allowed elevated privileges where it ought not. ie: Realtek or Promise).
I understand the sense of frustration when an Value-Added Reseller or OEM discontinues support for one product to sell an 'improved' model. Sometimes this occurs due to issues in hardware. Other times this can indicate the need to deal with companies that support their customers, rather than expressing a desire to support their customer's wallets. If enough users of the product you reference are unhappy & politely (yet firmly) voice your concerns to the company in question, change can and sometimes does indeed occur.
If you have used one of the XP drivers on this page, please share your critique of them.
If it is Vista or 7 that you are using, please look to this page and share your opinion there: http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 910#p46910

Topic: Beware the hazards of Button or Coin Cells (0 replies, posted in Other)
Just a brief note to spread the word on this problem that few may be aware of.
Ingestion of these small batteries like the ones commonly used in motherboards, laptops, etc. have cause the deaths of at least 13 children from 1985-2009.
"From 1985-2009, 56,535 disk battery ingestions were reported to the National Poison Data System.
From 2000-2009, 92% of disk batteries from fatal ingestions or those with major outcomes were 20-mm lithium cells. Most were imprint code CR 2032 (71%) or CR 2025 (21%)"
http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/774838-overview
The incidents & frequency are growing due to the proliferation of electronic toys, video-games & other devices utilizing these larger lithium coin cells. Not only are they larger & easier to lodge in the esophagus, they supply double the voltage & hold a reservoir of far more current when new; so they represent a greater risk of harm than the earlier-generation Button Cell. It is not actually the voltage (potential) nor the current (kinetic) that is directly responsible, yet it is the production of Sodium Hydroxide (a strong alkali) from electrochemical action.
"Injury can continue after endoscopic battery removal for days to weeks due to residual alkali or weakened tissues."
"Children younger than 6 years account for 61% of ingestions, with a peak incidence in those aged 1 and 3 years. All fatalities from 1985-2009 and 85% of cases with major outcomes occurred in children who were younger than 4 years old and were often nonverbal.
A second peak is observed in adults older than 60 years, with 10.3% of cases occurring in patients aged 60-89 years. Elderly patients are more likely to have batteries lodged in the small or large bowels. Patients older than 79 years account for only 4.6% of ingestions; in 31% of those cases, the battery lodges in the bowels."
http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/7 … view#a0199
The problem has garnered the attention of the American Congress and Canadian Parliament, & hopefully they will act soon.
http://img.medscape.com/pi/emed/ckb/eme … 754278.jpg
Please take care when storing these small batteries.

Re: Help with missing files (25 replies, posted in Feedback and Support - DriverPacks Base)
I guess you've never heard of 'Voltage Droop'; neither had i heard that specific term, until investigating (the devil's in the datasheets!). Review the post that i linked to if all-else fails.
To exaggerate the possibilities: If you try to draw 1 Amp from, say a port that only supplies 0.5A (as per USB 1.1), you will have a problem (resettable fuses compound the problem of diagnosis). If your USB cable introduces too much of a Voltage Drop (two different issues) as some non-USB-specification-compliant cables can; you may have a problem. I do note that the controller board requires a small amount of power, yet that may need to be accounted for.
I hope i'm wrong; yet isn't it nice to be able to rule-out those possibilities; as i have found some probable inaccuracies from ZalMan concerning their specifications of this specific product.
Who would have figured that the controller chip would only natively support SATA II (1.5Gbps) yet not NCQ, nor does this chip directly adhere to the eSATA specification (it's a SATA port)? One can hope that these limits of the controller chip were augmented by additional hardware.

Re: [SLVD] Hardware radio switch is off (9 replies, posted in Hardware)
First off, is this a DriverPacks issue?
2nd; I assume the F8 button itself works. The Fn key does not generate a scan code unto itself.
3rd; I use a piece of pre-cut scotch tape for it's lack of thickness, with a little overhang at the end of the card. Rub the tape with a clean cotton swab after application to reinforce the adhesive. Pre-cleaning improves adhesive ability; remove any trace of fingerprints after. Insert slowly. Test the ability to 'see' networks with antennae disconnected (or with known good spares) to rule out that possibility; however remote.
4th; it's refreshing to see that someone may be willing to 'play'; it took me over an hour of my good time to collate relevant information without resorting to plagiarism. Perhaps my info may not be relevant, yet i do offer an electronics perspective, when others far more capable with software weigh in on that front. I did catch your incorrect pin usage; surprised? If i seem a little testy, remember this; i don't desire anyone to pucker-up on my behalf (other than say, maybe Paula Abdul), i just hope for answers (whether i'm right or rong) to help me to help you, while hopefully helping others.
Anyway; 5th; Toshiba's l450d maintenance manual (includes Mini-PCIe port pinout) states that any WLAN hardware problem is likely the WLAN card, the antennae, or the mobo; not that that adds anything overly insightful. Ask me sometime about tin-whiskers & tin-plague; better yet, check NASA (Goddard) as they have extensively researched this topic. Is there any chance that it was stored for any length of time below 13°C, or overheated? Is it even clean inside? I gently use a soft to medium bristle nylon brush, then compressed air for cleaning dust & debris. I do note that without your original WLAN card, you may be SOL for warranty anyway. Don't quote me on that, i'm not a Toshiba rep.; investigate if necessary.
Q. How many computer programmers does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A. None, that's a hardware issue.

Re: Zalman "virtual" HDD case is amazing (15 replies, posted in Hardware)
I also note that it is safest to remove the large USB-end first or to plug it in last, as the data lines connect last & disconnect first.
I note that there is likely more than one version of this hardware, not just color changes. They may vary based upon controller chip, possibly firmware instead.
User Manual: ZM-VE200 & 200 SE http://www.zalman.com/Eng/Contact/Downl … n_Proc.asp
I note from one site that it's an Oxford Storage Solutions (by PLX Technology) OXU931SF USB 2.0 to SATA II (1.5GHz) controller powered by an ARM7. There may be a sticker on it; don't void your warranty if you don't have to (just sayin').
The ZM-VE300 is a USB3.0 variant & comes with a backup utility (and definitely uses a different controller).
Product_Brief_OXU931SF_Apr09.pdf --> http://www.plxtech.com/download/file/788
I note that NCQ is not supported. Neither is Gen2m for eSATA (wudda???)
Product Comparison: http://www.plxtech.com/products/consumer/das
A Product Change Notification was issued 27Sep10 http://www.plxtech.com/products/consumer/oxu931sf
The OXU931DS version was EOL'ed the same day; it is the only one listed on the Product Comparison to allow it's SATA ports to be reconfigured for eSATA. (huh???) Product_Brief_OXU931DS_Apr09.pdf --> http://www.plxtech.com/download/file/792
Product Change Notification only available to members; Detailed Technical Specs, Schematics & a document titled 'Using High Capacity Disks' are available through NDA.
I love PLX's slogan:
Silicon without Software is Just Sand.
Short story long; there may be some SATA II compatibility issues (Samsung drives especially see SATA 1.5 Gbit/s and SATA 3 Gbit/s in the following link). This may be like a 'Pre-standard implementation' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esata#eSATA
Although ZalMan insists upon their site that:
2.5” SATA I/II HDDs are compatible.

Re: [SLVD] Hardware radio switch is off (9 replies, posted in Hardware)
Ah, wasn't that "isolate pin 20" * to override disable (in effect enable) on Mini-PCIe WLAN's?
(bottom side - 2nd trace from KEY-slot, towards middle of the card)?
Pin 11 & 13 are REFCLK- & REFCLK+ on MiniPCIe respectively. Pin 13 is used to override-disable (in effect enable) on Mini-PCI WLAN's. Ensure that your contacts are cleaned before isolating, with a cotton-swab & 99%-pure Isopropyl Alcohol (drug store - possibly over-the-counter - ask pharmacist if not on the shelf). **
Remove any residue with a dry-swab & don't touch with fingers; not even clean fingers. Ordinarily i would lightly burnish just the contacts with 2000-grit sandpaper (yes, two-thousand-grit) before cleaning, although you may have a warranty to consider. *
http://www.notebookforums.com/t/225429/ … st_3162600
I do note that your Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN is listed in your HWID's. This would seem to rule out whitelisting (as per HP, Lenovo, etc).
Next question would likely be one you would ask yourself at this point (after isolating pin 20 *).
Does it work with a linuxLive distro?
* Do this at your own risk; neither DriverPacks or I will be responsible for any possible failures or warranty disqualification.
** Observe proper safety procedures; Use nitrile gloves, in a well-ventilated area, use anti-static precautions
as it's flammable, replace the cap immediately after wetting the cotton-swab to prevent spillage!
