I will provide a test pack soon.  Thank you for your patience.

It's already in there.  See first post.

"I didn't get any warning."

I understand how that can happen, forums are not the most natural way of communicating.

"Just want to clarify, have you been using a clean, unmodified, XP source for your integrations?"

He's quite right.  It has been known to happen.  A copy of all the setup files from a NT5 disc oft copied onto a hard drive which is rewritable media.  It's one reason that i take extra time to verify hashes, to prevent inadvertent mistakes!

No luck with drivers, nor a official BIOS update.

India's support has been kind, and indicates that other listed models in the SVE1411* series use Intel's RST v     11.1.0.1006 {DriverVer=02/01/2012,11.1.0.1006}.  No BIOS, though.
    http://www.sony-asia.com/support/product/sve14115fg

Lenovo seems to advise the initial release for some models {DriverVer=11/29/2011,11.0.0.1032}.  That may be the one you ultimately need.

Is that a CoreBoot BIOS?
If not, have you access to a USB-Floppy drive and that unmodified XP disc?

Quote from Intel(R)'s readme.txt within RST v11.1:

"5.3 Pre-Installation Using the F6 Method.

Note: The Steps 1 and 2 can be skipped if you use the F6 Floppy
disk utility provided by Intel. These methods
are applicable to systems configured for RAID or
      AHCI mode.

1. Extract all driver files from the installation package.
See section 7.2 for instructions on extracting the
    files.

2. Create a floppy* containing the following files in the root
    directory:
    iaAhci.inf, iaAhci.cat,
    iaStor.inf, iaStor.cat,
    iaStor.sys, and
    TxtSetup.oem.

    * Note: For Windows* Vista, you can use a floppy, CD/DVD or USB.

3. For Microsoft Windows* XP:

    - At the beginning of the operating system installation,
press F6 to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver.

    - When prompted, select 'S' to Specify Additional Device.

    - Continue to step 5."

v11.0 - http://downloadmirror.intel.com/20868/e … 0.1032.zip
v11.1 - http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Dr … series.exe

There you have it.  One of the two v11.0 or v11.1 drivers should work to install NT5 on that AHCI controller.
One caveat; the HWID's are not all listed for the existing USB-Floppy drives.

add to TXTSETUP.SIF after line:
USB\VID_55AA&PID_1234 = "usbstor"

these:

USB\VID_03F0&PID_2001 = "usbstor"
USB\VID_054C&PID_002C = "usbstor"
USB\VID_057B&PID_0001 = "usbstor"
USB\VID_0409&PID_0040 = "usbstor"
USB\VID_0424&PID_0FDC = "usbstor"
USB\VID_08BD&PID_1100 = "usbstor"
USB\VID_055D&PID_2020 = "usbstor"

I wish that that could be done within DP_MassStorage, yet.....I don't know how!  smile

Now you have all you should need (providing you have a USB-Floppy drive or HP USB-Floppy Flash Key) to have a fighting chance at this.

Answer:  Nope.

AC Charger good!

At this present time, i reccomend only using DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304r2.7z with DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_1304r2.7z.

Also, did you heed Damnation's warning about using an unmodified source?

Which driver version does Sony recommend for XP or Win2k3 installation?
Please provide a link.

As an additional note, WinSetupFromUSB v1beta bluescreens with STOP:7B in at least AHCI mode on that XPS.
Going to try v6.0.1.1002 and see if USB support can be extended here.

Create a blank file first?
(possibly from the files of "a semi was trapped under a bridge .... a small child said 'let the air out of the tires'")

v2.7 worked on a inspiron 1525 using DP_Biometric, Display, HID, Webcam, & wHCI  all at once.
It even picked out the 'dell trackpad' instead of using the Alps generic driver (ICA026, I2G1Z marked under TP).
{DriverVer=1/25/2012, 7.1209.101.215} - {ACPI\PNP0F13\4&2F94427B&0}
I received that "cannot find *.ins" error too.  Testing with XPpro-sp3 this time.

Moving to v3.0 for testing.

First off, i note that there is only one MassStorage Controller in that Sony:

If you are installing from a dvd drive on that controller, it would probably not work.
If it is the Intel USB 3.0 controller, ensure that USB 2.0 mode is selected in BIOS/uEFI.
It should be the "Intel(R) 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1E26" that would have the best odds of success.
Only plug in a bare minimum of accessories, such as the USB-CD/DVD (no hubs, cardreaders, etc.).

Otherwise, i would remind you of BIOS/uEFI updates/oROMs as a likely source of err, and to remind of the risks.
{I am working on a Dell XPS that stopped installing from USB (using WinSetupFromUSB v1beta8 & udpated DPMS.iso) without a bluescreen with an updated BIOS (confirmation in progress).}

edit:  it wasn't the BIOS that failed with the aforementioned Dell XPS Gen 4, it may be the choice of textmode driver.  The error is STOP:0x0000007B (0xF89C3524,0xC0000034,0,0).  The important part is that a disc-based install works there, in AHCI mode, i hope it is similar with Kamrul08's installs.  More on this in another topic, later.

I still think that a disc install has the best odds of success on the "USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1E26" without touching the BIOS/uEFI.

What are the details of your bluescreen error?

You should use DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_1304r2 with DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304r2, not the earlier one.

Out-of-date or otherwise incompatible BIOS &/or uEFI can at times be a possible source of such issues.  BIOS Updates carry inherent risks.  Know what you are doing, or don't start.  A "Bricked" System Board (or other) could result.  Downgrades possible alternative.

Good to hear that NT6.1 is working out for you.  Thank you for the reports.
Is there another version of intel's RST that worked for you, previously?

Try the Release Candidate for MassStorage & the Chipset RC.
Otherwise, ensure that you have an updated uEFI Firmware from your Computer System's Manufacturer.
Post your HWID's please.

Noting that ACPI\PNP0C31 is potentially a PNPid that could cause data-loss if wrong driver installed.

ATMELTPM.INF is the one most likely to be installed by default (with DP_Chipset_wnt5-x86_1301 or newer - still potential with older packs & OS's) as it is newest & WHQL'ed.
This could conflict with Winbond, STMicro, intel or infineon TPM's.  Complicating things somewhat is the fact that Winbond acquired National Semiconductor's TPM line quite a while ago.  It may share in this potential conundrum and confluence of intellectual properties.
Atmel may have acquired some IP there as i see that all ID's are shared with intel's TPM driver.
Of course, that is as of yet unconfirmed too.

Note that i'm unable to confirm any of this as of yet.  Please reply if you have a TPM with that PNPid.

Just noting that XP fails to read most win8 Security Catalogs.
Does win7 choke on some win8 Security Catalogs as well?

updated edit, sorry.  Add in script & never have issue for certain.

How do you discern PS/2 mouse PNP#### manufacturers, for instance?

I agree with Weidass!

There is something that I neglected to mention earlier, though.

Noting that ACPI\PNP0C31 is potentially a PNPid that could cause data-loss if wrong driver installed.
I am missing hardware which would allow confirmation of such effect.
Should i start a new public Topic for this?

One pass with SAD2_v2.7 on the original MCE machine with DP_Display_wnt5-x86_1109081.7z
& it worked correctly the first time.  I put the .7z archive into the NT5\x86\ folder.

Whoops.  Everything up to edit 3 is likely RTM & edit 5 is definitely GIGO.

False alarm on everything but edit #4.

Huh?   I am attempting to install drivers on XP-MCE-2005-SP2, yet i receive the error:

"Locating the DriverPacks...
Searching Root folders since DriverPacks were not found in current folder..."
"Error:  The system was unable to find the specified registry key or value
> was unexpected at this time."

I had to pipe the output to be able to view the error.
Note that the path to the drivers was "C\SAD2\NT5\x86"  SAD2 was located in "C:\SAD2"
I see from the switch /H that it is looking for C:/D to contain drivers.
Whilst trying to view the help, i note that it annoyingly closes the command prompt after "any key"
(where's the 'any' key?  tongue).  Had to pipe it to a file to fully view at my convenience.

Trying again with drivers in C:\D

edit:  nope, not working at all, and this is all using LZMA, not LZMA2 - i double checked.  I do not understand.
I did add the readme.txt from former versions.   Is MCE unsupported?

edit2:  i get the same error in v2.5

edit3:  working when i extract the drivers to ..\NT5\x86\  (not in 7z form - not working even w. 7z920 installed)

edit4:  it prompts me before deleting drivers, even though i opted to keep the drivers

edit5:

"Running the DriverPacks Finisher now!"
..."DPsFnshr.exe - Windows cannot find 'DPsFnshr.exe'."  ...

edit6:  some drivers from DP_Graphics_A, B & C installed ok (those packs were the only ones i attempted thusfar), yet one of my Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family Display Adapters has a Yellow Bang! & complains of "incorrect parameter" when attempting to update.

I have collected DPsFnshr.log, coiinlog.log, DPINST.log & DPsFnshr.ini.  Let me know which ones you need so i can wipe that machine.

...also note that i've removed the old version of UPEK's utility for BartPE.

The driver included in lenovo's Fingerprint software is an older driver.

In that driver Class=Biometric.  In the updated driver, Class=Authentication Devices.

Note that i received the driver for Upek devices from AuthenTec

Also note that AuthenTec/UPEK has been acquired.  Some models are listed on DigitalPersona's web page.

I note that lenovo's version supporting XP is dated Sept27th, 2012

Upon further investigation, "Common Protector Suite" uses the driver from 2011 too!

Don't forget to clear your DP_BASE "QSC Cache", better yet, disable it unless you are doing multiple integrations.
Also, ensure that you use the RC for Chipset & the beta for Misc if applicable.

If you are still experiencing problems with the RC, please post your HWID's with the tool linked in either of our signatures.

If you are into adventure, try the last "Monitor" pack for x64
