Wow, adding 4 HWIDs but dropping 12?
1 step forward, 3 steps back. sad

Updated DriverPack Graphics B to 902n4
I1\
Updated to DriverVer 02/03/2009,6.14.10.5035 (14.38.0.5035) driver signing intact

DriverVer 02/15/2008,6.14.10.4926 (14.32.4.4926) (Driver signing RESTORED!)

Current DriverPack Chipset is 9.02, not 8.03 as in your log.  That should fix your USB issue and possibly your IDE problem.
Sigmatel is always a bitch.  Your best bet for that is to get the driver directly from the Dell support site.

Can you read this thread and post the requested log files?
It sounds to me like your XP source is tainted somehow, unless you didn't follow instructions.
iertutil.dll is only for IE-7.  You probably integrated ie7 somewhere along the way and it went wrong.
When integrated properly with DriverPacks BASE, driver signing policy is disabled for the duration of XP install until after you reach the desktop.  If you're seeing those prompts, you didn't do something correctly.

Looks good to me.  Let us know how it turns out.

First, I'd disable KTD.  It's not needed anymore since we developed SAD (Stand Alone Driver disc).
Second. Don't use nlite to remove/integrate drivers, or to disable driver signing.  Let DriverPacks BASE handle that for you.
Can you  "read before you post" and post the info requested?
For that laptop, you'd want DriverPack Graphics C for the drivers, and DriverPack Graphics A for the control panel/CCC.  DriverPack Graphics A doesn't contain any drivers for that graphics card.

Please try the above and retest with a fresh source, then post the files requested if you have any other issues.
Thanks for posting.

DriverPacks BASE automatically makes the appropriate entries to disable the driver-sign prompts.
So we can only assume that you did not use DriverPacks BASE to integrated the DriverPacks otherwise you'd have no problems.
Remember, Nlite first. Do not integrate/remove drivers with nlite.  Leave open.
DriverPacks BASE last.  Close DriverPacks BASE.
Build ISO with nlite.

Welcome to DriverPacks.net! smile

DriverPacks only ADD TO existing drivers, NOT replace them.
In the age of DVD drives, there's no reason at all to remove drivers with nlite.  To do so is begging for trouble.

Awesome!  Testing...
3.2b did pull out about 10 additional duplicate HWIDs I had missed before. smile  That's a very good thing.
I'm also updating newly released FireMV and other new business-class drivers.  So DriverPack Graphics B will see a major update soon.

Your tool makes it all happen!  Thank you!

Two scans. All nightly graphics DriverPacks in work.
v3.2 pulled 4224 HWIDs
v3.2b pulled 5733HWIDs

It's a good start. smile
I'll have to check to see if we missed any.

*Edit
OK, first bug.
v3.2b is pulling HWIDs that are commented out with ';' so I'm showing duplicate HWIDs with blank PNPID Desc

Oh thank GOD!  I'm looking forward to testing the new tool, even if it means more work for me. wink

LOL, sorry, it's in the nightly.

Try testing with just the folder or inf file directly to scan instead of a whole the root D.

Try scanning the folder d\g\a1 and export to .xls.

mr_smartepants wrote:

Search in Excel for "DEV_5B63" from DriverPack Graphics A and you only find lines with the SUBSYS, not the bare HWID.

This bug still exists when the .inf is structured as so (like ATI):
ven_aaaa&dev_bbbb&subsys_cccccccc
ven_aaaa&dev_bbbb

The resulting .xls will pick up the 18 listings of VEN_1002&DEV_5B63&subsys_cccccccc in CX_75974.inf but will be missing:
"Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series" = ati2mtag_RV370, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5B63

This is just an example, there are loads of dropped HWIDs from the .xls.

OverFlow found a possible cause of this bug.
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 467#p29467

I added your code tags for you.
This was solved in another thread.  You have DriverPacks BASE selecting an invalid folder for your OS.
location    = "D:\XPSP3S\I386"
should be
location    = "D:\XPSP3"

Correct?

I'm already starting to feel the crunch of "Oh God, what now" since your announcement.  Thanks for all your hard work RogueSpear!
Hopefully, others will take over where you left off with your multimode installers.  They are indispensable!

I think I'm getting the hang of this. smile  I just built a x86 source with zero problems.  I guess we need a better tutorial now. wink
I use vlite to rebuild the source, then poweriso to copy the files to a prebuilt empty .iso.  Flawless.
Using either vlite or Vista-tool to build the .iso takes a ridiculously long time otherwise.

No problem.  I'm toying with an x86 build on my gateway.
One thing that really bothers me is unsigned drivers.  With these Vista DriverPacks, are unsigned drivers possible?  Because then I can support mobile graphics and other items.
One other thing that really bothers me is the lack of a DriverPacks Finisher.  There's a way to script it into SetupComplete.cmd by using discriminating code (IF exist xyz then install abc / or If not exist xyz then goto abc) etc.

But ideally, we'd build an autoit DriverPacks Finisher, just like for XP, then invoke it with SetupComplete.cmd.
Sounds simple to me, but Jeff would be the pro at this.

Just because XP is no longer sold, doesn't mean it can't be installed/activated.
So lets say that M$ stops selling XP next week.
Next year they switch off the activation server for online activation.
In 2011 they kill the telephone switchboard for phone activation.
At that point, the only unattended XP that will still work will be royalty preactivated OEM or corporate VLK.  Because both do not require validation of their activation.

Easy.
1) Run DriverPacks BASE and select your source folder.
2) Click the right arrow until you get to the DriverPacks selection screen.
3) Click "select none"
4) Click "slipstream"

That's it.  Your DriverPacks are now removed from your source and your source was placed back to the state it was in prior to DriverPacks integration.

Way to go! smile
You've helped us help you (and everyone else).  Now that you've verified this driver on your hardware, maybe Jake can add this to the dpms.

Well, vlite seems to build the iso OK most of the time, only when the install.wim isn't corrupted.  I've almost got all the updates slipped in.  Once I get a stable updated source, I'll start playing with the drivers.  It seems a huge pain to have to rebuild the image with vlite everytime though.
I hope Win7 doesn't have these issues.
*Edit
OK. All the utilities failed to create a usable .iso from the oversized source 4.46 GB (4,798,613,014 bytes)
I had to use PowerISO and open my original source .iso, delete it's contents, then drag over the modified source and save.  Success. smile

Bad news.  Corrupted install.wim again.
http://i40.tinypic.com/jhfyf4.jpg
Luckily I backed up my previous .iso so I'll be starting from that again.
This time I'll integrate the updates in stages (Ultimate extras, MCE, Plus) and test each time.  Time consuming, but it needs to be done.

So that I can better understand how driver integration works, can you tell me where the tool deposits the driver folders and what structure must the DriverPacks maintain?  What files are edited?

*Edit,  One suggestion for Vista-tool.  Progress bar.
I don't think it would be too difficult to count the number of hotfixes/updates files, then use that as a total (ie, installing update 21 of 60: 34% complete).  That would be better than the zero feedback during integration would it not?  With the command prompt hidden or not I still have no idea how long the process is taking.

OK, that must have been it, because everything is passing now.  I'm even building an ISO (that NEVER worked before).
So, the tutorial should read:
Step 1: Unlock your source from "Read Only".

Hmm.  Vlite crashes during the rebuild stage.  I only chose a single tweak (must choose something or it won't rebuild).  I enabled IE phishing filter.
I'm trying again with fresh source.  If it does it again I'll try WAIK export.
*Edit, OK, it passed now.  The only thing I did different this time was to right-click on the source folder, select properties, and uncheck the "read only" checkbox.  There must have been a locked file in there somewhere.
