SysPrep support is not available yet... but we are working on it!

I gave you every opportunity to wait for jake to offer you the newest pack...

I gave you a fair and reasonable answer... yet you pushed even more.

the pack you wanted DOES NOT WORK so why would you want it anyway - it won't help.
Not everything works and we only need one person with the hardware to know if it is not working.

If we know its not going to help we are not going to send it... to anyone, period

you gave it to him but not to me... is a child like attitude.

you were warned that pushing in this area would draw a foul...

you were being a smart ass...

I stand by what I wrote... perhaps you should re-read this from the top...

this seems like a question for the local shop, did you call them?

Base extracts to %SystemDrive%  not to  'C:'
- Yes it works on ANY drive letter
If you are installing to a second partition then you need to make sure you have enough space on %systemdrive%
(SystemDrive may or may not be the destination drive letter...)
Can you at least tell us how far into the install you are when this message appears?
Your details are incomplete and unclear regarding the specifics of the error...
(thanks for including your log that answers TONs of questions for us)

furthermore "there is nothing to extract" is not a DriverPacks BASE or 7zip error...
I suggest you try it without DriverPacks to the second partition.
I believe you will find it is related to a svcpack you have added with nLite or other program.
In which case i am looking forward to your apology for your attitude.

and no... this version was released well over a month ago to the testing team...
hundreds of people were testing it for a month before it was even a RC version.
- you are just not on the testing team nor are you able to see that forum.

re: "Please don't tell me that people have been using this DPBase for months with no reported issues."

We get 32,000 downloads a day... so we had 100 people using it about 5 minutes after i announced it.
- you're right, 100 users is way off...
There is probably more like 250,000  (Two hundred and Fifty thousand) users since it has been a week... wink

When an issue is only reported by one person out of hundreds of thousands...
And the testing team had been trying to break it for many weeks before the release...
And the error message does not exist in our code... nor in our extractors code (7zip)...
What would you say?

Good point(s) Fragbert...

the devices list will get updated when the new pack is done wink

it is ridiculus to ask us to add something that is already included...

don't knock it till you try it

and you obviously havent tried it...

that is not very nice...  and is also wrong... i think it is more likely PEBKAC

if hundreds of people have been using it for months with no reported issues at all it must be specific to something you did

you can either edit your post or have it deleted...

when was the last time you saw jakeld... ?  perhaps you didnt notice he was away for the holidays.

we do have lives besides the Free and Unpaid volunteer work we do here for no pay whatsoever...

if Jake decides to have someone test a specific driver that is up to him he is working on it...
and he is not here... and he has no obligation to be here...
And I am not going to ask him when he will have time to work on it. that is just rude.
he does it when he feels like it. i code base when i feel like it amd mr_s does the graphics when he feels like it

When we feel like it is when ... Got it?

i suggest you learn the meaning of the words patient, polite and respectful... or you will have a short stay

i don't think I am being misunderstood am I ?

you are not a donor nor are you a contributer. you don't ask nicely and you dont say please.
you want it for free and you want it now... my kids behave better than you do...

grow up

You can add as many packs as you like...

Contents of the DriverPacks are listed http://driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/overview.php
click devices wink

There are also 3rd party DriverPack available (topic is in the forum)
these are complimentary to the main packs and include stuff like monitors, printers, webcams, modems, phones, HID,  and scanners.
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewforum.php?id=13

All known hardware is supported
- unknown hardware support is added as it is reported wink
We can't very well add it if we don't know about it can we?

Please read the tutorial(s), FAQ, and home page info before asking.
99.9 % of all questions are already answered and in plain site wink
the search feature has been known to work too wink
we are a lot more freindly if it seems like you at least tried to find it yourself.

Welcome to DriverPacks
I hope you have an awesome day!

he fixed it wink

Sure, that sounds alright, but why the double standards?
I don't think any one of us sounded like some rude beggar...
Should we have regged under a female nickname as well?

the thing is, They have not been released because they have  known  problems
the existing pack is ROCK solid. and so it will be with the next pack when it is released.
we dont release DriverPacks with known problems...
(if the driver providers had that attitude, we could release packs daily)

that is not a double standard, here that is the only standard.

When the testing team stops reporting problems, then then they will be released. not before.

we are getting really close to that "are we there yet" parental speech you were kidding about helmi.

the  'see this stuff ain't as easy as you thought...'  comment (the entire paragraph)
was aimed at anyone who announces / provides a new pack. wink
(not aimed at you - sorry for my not being clear)

I wish to encourage people to create packs... I also wish to help them to do it well wink

We have a huge lurker audience here... thanks for tipping the scale the other way a bit ! big_smile

Just ask... big_smile

edit... -> @compstuff
When the guys are trying stuff out they like to have notes with the files.
the files are used to make sure we don't have ten drivers in the pack for just one monitor wink
We strip these files out for any final editions...

edit... -> @all
they are also a flag to the team that a non Testing Team member has been getting into the cookie jar wink
and why my versioning tutorial was referenced wink
edit... -> So people can learn to spot them and so someone could contribute thier own with less confusion.

If we look at the guide it is obviously a nightly y.mm.v7
one digit past the subversion, a 7 in this case. i would have gone with the day of the month (04) that way i can tell how old it is from the version type. wink

edit... -> the next paragraph is intended as advice for anyone wishing to post a pack....

the Point is MOST PEOPLE don't know It is a TEST or a 'Nightly' unless we tell them
- when we put the pack up for testing wink            edit...-> then we should CLEARLY state it is a Nightly!
- see this stuff ain't as easy as you thought... tongue

It is normal that you will find some of these types of leftovers with our Nightlies.
(usually in C:\  but %SystemDrive% is not always C: )
By shareing these files it prevents the people working on it from duplicating duplication of duplicated work.

wink - yeah i have been known to give the 'dreaded speech' from time to time... wink big_smile

not usually when the word 'Please' is included somewhere in the post...
the word 'Kindly' used by the OP also implied please in my mind wink

Soon... very soon!
"we will release no driver before it's time" big_smile

Fixed by disabling buttons until refresh is complete...

Will be included with next release

I created a Bug Report for you so I could mark it as resolved wink

http://bugtracker.driverpacks.net/view.php?id=495

Released with 9.01.0.03
see testing team forum

DriverPacks BASE 8.12.2 released

8 Languages updated by our translations team! Cudos to them!
Credits on the 'about' page of the program!

First post (News) updated

LOL big_smile

PS  HE  REPORTED  ME !  LOL roll tongue big_smile

It actually turned out nicely.
I was able to assign other translations that copied my error and relate them to my bug.
in bugtracker this groups them as related issues (and blames them ALL on me wink)
also as a result I was able to update existing submissions as I added them.

the bugtracker is a very nice tool... thanks Bâshrat the Sneaky

see how the changelog develops as we use it...
http://bugtracker.driverpacks.net/changelog_page.php
I recently got the proper permissions in order to use it properly

So Far we have SEVEN translations turned in that are version 8.12 or newer.

That is just amazing... You guys Rock!

French      maxximum
German    Helmi
Polish       dziubek
Slovenian Amitri
Spanish    ricktendo64
Turkish     Kenan Balamir

English obviously by Jeff Herre

is anbody who is not on the testing team interested in testing the new SysPrep Platform?
I added support in the unreleased (publicly) alpha version, but, if anyone is interested... wink

um no technically it is a management interface, not a "device" that falls into a category covered by one of the basic DriverPacks, although this could be added to a 3rd party DriverPack quite easily wink

if it becomes popular we may add it VIA the finisher triggered by certain configurateions of hwids and files on the target machine

for now you can simply google INTEL(R) MANAGEMENT ENGINE INTERFACE and get a ton of hits for drivers to try.

If you were a team player you could report back here which one worked for you!

Someone may even create a 3rd party DriverPack (if you don't)

I Like 'Y' I am going to fix that in my translation...

I belive you should report me at the bugtracker for that ! wow... i must be getting old... wink

edited master and above

INTEL(R) MANAGEMENT ENGINE INTERFACE

it looks like a Drive controller

if you look in our third party driver section you will find a cannon printer pack and a monitor pack with many others you might need too... wink

Well there already is a refresh button...

Perhaps I can do away with the auto refresh and force pushing the button...

Or i could put up a popup window that covers the buttons.

Or both...

PS I usually navigate the tree on the left, to get to the pages I need... wink

I am open to ideas on this - anybody?

Edit...

OK it seems Wim made it quite simple to disable the buttons...

So i am just going to disable them during the refresh interval...
I am also going to look at the timeout interval for a no Internet connection scenario...

You are welcome and encouraged to create a report at the bugtracker
