This is another setback for Vista.
But Win7 will be awesome and no one will want to remember the 'dark days' of Vista.

I see that Jan went to help over here: http://future.siginetsoftware.com/index.php
This is a VERY good thing, because all the great developers are converging on a single project (that MAY be backwards compatible with Vista).
This new project brings together all the core developers of the RyanVM Integrator, and the W7Toolkit and other bright minds.
I also signed on to the project, because I feel we're on the cusp of something great with W7 and I can be a positive influence on it's development.

But I fear that mr_smartepants is right with his answer, that you will not need it. He could only have written this a little bit more friendly.

True, sorry about that.
The .ini is only needed for those drivers that require the use of a separate installer to be run.  99% of the wireless drivers use the Microsoft configuration tool for managing wireless connections, but only a handful use a separate control panel or utility that needs it's installer executed at the correct time, that's what the .ini is for. smile

So are we going to get a new Forums infrastructure too? wink

Certainly looks different.  It's a lot better than the static linking from the past.
Can't wait to see the driver database in action.

but since many systems are now with x64 os's systems, when will there be a x64 version?

There already is...Vista-Tool supports x64 Vista with no problems. smile
There is very little regard around here for XP-64.  Just do a search and you'll quickly find THE thread.

I think I'm safe in saying that we will never support XP-64.

DriverPacks BASE and all the XP DriverPacks are 32-bit only.  We do not support 64-bit for XP or 2003.  Only 64-bit Vista is supported and only by Vista-Tool.

Ever since M$ totally dissed vlite: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968279/
I can't imagine vlite recovering from that.
I hope that Vista-Tool 2.0 continues from it's original roots, just better! smile
I vote for no removals.  That would just break stuff.  Only my opinion...

If it does it every time the system boots up, I'm certain the problem is in one of your startup programs.
I'd recommend installing CrapCleaner and running it.
It has a good registry cleaner and there's a tab under "Tools->Startup" that will list every startup item.  Start by disabling (not deleting) one or two at a time and rebooting until your problem goes away; That's your culprit.

And sorry but in the README it gave this site as a place to download driverpacks i just thought it was used for the hlep of the Micro XP i downloaded.

The readme you're referring to is on your tainted-source disc right?  We didn't write that.  The morons who made "tinyxp" did, and THEY are responsible for supporting that filth, not us.

Violation of forum rules #1 and #1a.
First and final warning given!

You'll get no help here using pirated XP.
Once you get a legitimate XP license and a hologramed XP CD, then you can read the tutorial in my signature.

Glad you got it fixed.
In the future, support for those addon packs can be found at RyanVM's forums.  This website deals with DriverPacks support only.

Sounds good.  Now we need to pull Jake out of hibernation... smile

Awesome!  Glad it worked out for you.

Well the only reason I ask is to eliminate a possible hardware failure.  wink
If NOTHING works, chances are something blew on your motherboard.
Otherwise, it's software.

LOL, not even Linux?
When you use the older dp, don't forget to move the newer DriverPacks out of the folder or DriverPacks BASE will select the newest one automatically.

The sound DriverPacks releases haven't been updated in that long.
The testing nightlies however have been updated quite often.

We are overdue for a release though. wink

WooHoo!  Welcome to the team! smile

Besides, that would most likely break driver-signing.
