OK, I've got DriverPack Graphics A all worked out! Nvidia works perfect on my card.
And the best bit...I fixed the ATI CCC not running (sort of). ATI CCC requires a careful mix of .NET 2.0 and vcredist 2005sp1 and 2008sp1.
I've added the vcredist installers to DriverPack Graphics A and added the triggers to the DriverPacks Finisher .ini.
The only problem I've had in my testing is that ATI CCC won't start the first or second time you launch it, but after the second or third time (weird yes). But at least it works.
So now I need input from everyone.
Should I leave the vcredist installers in DriverPack Graphics A and leave the .NET dependency for the end user, or create Third Party DriverPacks for .NET and vcredist for those who need it?
The vcredist installers alone add ~10MB to the DriverPack Graphics A.
Thank YOU!
I REALLY need to update the beginner's guide!
Which folder is that file getting installed from? I'll look at the .inf and see what went wrong.

LOL, no it's easy. You'll need to install HashCheck.

Just double-click the .cat file, click the "Security Catalog" tab.
Now right-click the file you want to check and select "Properties" and click the "Checksums" tab.
Now scroll through the list in the .cat file and see if you find a match.
compstuff wrote:when I manually deleted it after "unlocking" the file handle, the service failed
Whoa! If the file is still in use after a restart and the service fails when it's deleted then we have another problem.
This is an old bug where DriverPacks Finisher can't delete files that are in use. That's why DriverPacks Finisher creates a reg entry to clean up after itself after the next reboot.
No need to merge them. Check the SHA1 hashes of both .inf and check for matches in either of the .cat files. You might be able to put both .infs in the same folder and maintain signing (renaming an .inf doesn't affect it's hash).
Whew. Thanks for confirming that.
Yes, I have it fixed in the final version.
Downloading now. I'll try to work it in.
Just to keep everyone up-to-date. I've cleaned up all the graphics DriverPacks and made them FINAL!
But I'm waiting for one tester to report back before releasing them.
I just took a look myself and the version contained in 9.06 (and the latest RC) is the same that's listed on intel's download site (version 14.17).
IIRC, we replaced the drivers with a unified driver set which had dropped the 865g, so we just added it back.
Intel still says it's current though!
My DriverPacks existence is driven by the axiom: "Build DriverPacks by using drivers from the original OEM source whenever possible, and keep them signed whenever practical."
Which DriverPack Graphics B version are you referring to? My release candidate file has 7 Intel folders
all for specific chipsets.
What you're seeing is probably a folder reorganization.
Thanks. I appreciate all the testing you're doing for us. It'd be much easier if I was encountering the failure as well. My problem was caused by not including the VC++ runtimes (and a host of other problems).
Now CCC is installing perfectly fine on my systems.
What addons are you trying if you don't mind me asking?
For 2009. Nov. first nightly this is the right name: 9.11.01
- DP_Monitor_wnt5_x86-32_91101

That's not possible. Nlite is not smart enough to handle DriverPacks. You must integrate DriverPacks using DriverPacks BASE. A tutorial is in my signature.
Do NOT use nlite for ANYTHING driver related.
OK, which dp is loading the drivers for your card? I added the older CCC to DriverPack Graphics C \a5 and I haven't figured out the installer switches for that one (yet).
Sounds like a .NET issue to me. I've installed using the same dp and apart from the installer prompt, ATICCC installs fine.
*Edit,
LOL, I had already put them in there!
You can change the DriverPack Graphics C DPsFnshr.ini for the A5 section from:
exc_2_command1 = "%DPSROOT%\D\G\A5\CC\setup.exe /S /v/qb"
to
exc_2_command1 = "%DPSROOT%\D\G\A5\CC\setup.exe /S /v/qn"
Yup, that's where they are hiding.
Can you test the dp I built for abdou to test (in the testing team area)?
It's built with the new 191-series drivers and is meant to solve his issues with non-enu language installs.
But it might solve your issue as well.
Wow, a self-deleting post! That's a first.
Moved to sound forum.
I know Major was working on the sound DriverPacks last. I don't know how far he's got.
Did this get resolved with the latest release candidates?
Was this ever resolved?
Try a combination of the new DriverPack Chipset and DriverPack Graphics B release candidate.
