Topic: [Resolved] Could not copy Intel Chipset drivers' .inf files

I noticed this problem has been addressed at least twice before, and that it only occurs when the QuickStream Cache is turned off.  Is the only workaround to turn QuickStream Cache on?

Also, I noticed that the following version of Windows was detected:

Windows XP Professional -  Retail SP2 detected.

But I'm using a corporate version.  Is that a problem?  Is there any reason to treat the corporate and retail versions differently?

Lastly, if I'm integrating RyanVM's Post-SP2 updates using Ryan's official integrator, I assume I should do that first, then integrate Driver Packs second.  Is that correct?  Thanks for any help!  Driver Packs rock!

No, the Corp version is just a Pro without the need to activate.
Apart from that, it is identical (and it is not specifically referred to as Corp, hence it gets detected as Pro).

Yes, the DriverPacks should always be the last step before creating the ISO.

Re: [Resolved] Could not copy Intel Chipset drivers' .inf files

It's always possible that your DriverPack Chipset 6.12 pack is corrupted.  Try downloading a fresh copy and try again.

Re: [Resolved] Could not copy Intel Chipset drivers' .inf files

Hi
I think you would be better off using method 2, snce you have all packs in there.

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

He is.

@drewmie
Did you delete your DP Base .ini file prior to integration?  It's the "could not find settings file" log entry that got me.
Try stepping through and set all the settings and then integrating.  If you still have issues, please post your .ini file as well.

Re: [Resolved] Could not copy Intel Chipset drivers' .inf files

Hi mr-smartepants (huh, when I say that, it sounds like I want to insult you, which is not the case)

anyway, this line
2007-03-12 09:06:20 : <SEL>  Selected module: mod_slip_wxp_x86-32_disc_m1.
that is method 1

that line about the INI  is no error, when base is run from a freshly unpacked folder, the ini does not yet exist.
Hence,
2007-03-12 08:50:40 : <INIT> Could not find settings file"C:\My Stuff\Software\MS Windows XP\_WinXPSP2updates\DriverPacks\DPs_BASE.ini".

Got it.  I really need to start paying attention to my own log files! smile
I also have to stop posting when I'm tired before bed.

Re: [Resolved] Could not copy Intel Chipset drivers' .inf files

This seems to happen randomly, I have no clue why. I'd blame Windows but that's too easy.

It should not be a permissions issue, since all permissions are removed from the Windows installation files prior to the slipstream. The best guess I have is that your Chipset DriverPack is corrupted, as mr_smartepants suggested. Please retry and let us know.

Re: [Resolved] Could not copy Intel Chipset drivers' .inf files

I've just had the same problem, tried re-downloading the chipset pack but it still didn't work.
I ended up enabling QuickStream Cache and it works fine.

Re: [Resolved] Could not copy Intel Chipset drivers' .inf files

I also enabled QuickStream Cache, and it worked for me without error.  That's fine, so I suppose it's only a problem from a curiosity or bug-fixing standpoint.  Thanks everyone for the comments so far!

Re: [Resolved] Could not copy Intel Chipset drivers' .inf files

I've got the Same Error Using the Driverpack on a Windows XP SP2 CD with Method 1 and disabled QuickStream Cache, but I think that I've found the Reason for that Error:

The Error-Message:
http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/736/fehlermethode1yx4.jpg

The Reason (marked red):
http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/6546/fehlermethode1ursacheyd3.jpg

In Words:
The Program tries to copy from "\$OEM$\$1\D\C\I\xp" as Source and the existing path was "\$OEM$\$1\D\D\C\I\xp". <-- One "D" to much!
The Error only Occours on my System if the QuickStream Cache is disabled!!!

Sorry for my bad english - hope i could help solving that error!

Best Regards
