The folder was supposed to added in DP_Sound_A_wnt5_x86-32_612, according to the changelog. I checked my backup copy and it's not there either.

I checked the VIA web site and this is what they say.
VIA Vinyl Audio driver - Multilingual
Codecs supported: This driver supports all VIA southbridges with integrated sound plus several audio codecs as below.
Release history: This combination driver was first published on 24 June 2002. Prior to 24 June 2002, there was driver 74mu170a for VT8233/VT8233A/VT8233C and driver 68MU220b for VT686A, 686B & VT8321. The "combo" driver combined those two drivers into the one package and added support for the (at the time) new VT8235 southbridge. Further improvements have been made in subsequent releases, including adding support for more codecs and the driver package is now called Vinyl_AudioCodec.
VIA AC97 codec incorporated into VT82C686A/B South Bridges
VIA AC97 codecs incorporated into VT8233, VT8233A, VT8233C, VT8235 and VT8237/R South Bridges
VIA AC97 codec incorporated into VT8231 South Bridge
VIA AC97 codec incorporated into VT8251 South Bridge
VIA Vinyl audio codecs: VT1612A VT1613 VT1616 VT1617 VT1618
They all use the 6.14.01.4180 [6.80b] Vinyl driver.
Is that why the V4 folder is not there?

Yes Dave, and Bashrat forgot to remove the line in the changelog.
problem solved , case closed .........
