It isn't the same my card is AD1986A the other is AD1986, however I have slipstreamed them in my winxp cd installation and the sound card isn't installed. Maybe it hasn't have the hwids, I will list them this evening (if I will remember 
)

hi im new here(obviously) and im glad that i've found this place but im having trouble finding out what type of motherboard I have....
can anyone help? so i start updating

What would your MoBo have to do with your SC?
On-board or what?
Basically, you don't need to know what HW you have since this involves no manual input.
Only when drivers are not getting installed (little yellow exclamation marks in the device manager) you will need to obtain your HWIDs as well as find out the actual product to help Bâshrat the Sneaky get it to work

I have a soundmax sound, and this is sound max driver?
Soundmax came with the computer, so its onboarb but when i download and tried to install it set doesnt support my HW

This is not a software that is being installed on an existing Windows but rather integrated (slipstreamed) into your XP installation CD so when you install XP the next time, all device drivers are already set.
